View Full Details of Kinmel LodgeA very good home, staff are very good. Management is always there for you. My wife's room has just been painted and a good job was made of it. My wife's clothes are always clean and washing of clothes seems to be done regularly.
My mum recently spent some time in hospital and was quite poorly when discharged to Kinmel Lodge and her mobility was terrible. Management and staff put measures in place to ensure her safety and has since recovered really well. Management recently moved my mum to a different room to suit her needs, and she is so much better. This shows a caring and proactive attitude from the manager and the team towards residents. Staff are great with my mum and always friendly when I visit. Thank you.
My mum has only been in Kinmel Lodge for a couple of months but the change in her is so lovely to see. She is always smiling and joins in with everything. The staff are so caring they feel like friends when I visit. The list of activities is brilliant the residents are always doing something. Every single day in December there was something happening, I don't know how they think of some of the activities.
Since my mother-in-law has gone into care at Kinmel Lodge she is happier than she has been for years. The care and support the staff give the residents and their visiting families is amazing. They really engage with the residents and have activities that keep them active on a daily basis. The atmosphere is so upbeat which really helps when you get to the stage of a close relative being in need of dementia care. Finding such a great place is a huge relief that we can be sure that our relative is getting the best care available.
All the staff - from the manager to the domestics work cohesively and professionally and all genuinely care about the residents. Before coming into Kinmel Lodge my mum could hardly walk and always used a Zimmer, now she walks with a stick and can easily walk a few miles! It could be the delicious meals, it could be the various activities and the person-centric care but ultimately my mum has a quality of life that we never thought possible. Thank you!
Can't believe how well Mum has been doing since staying at the home. She's happy, always laughing and doesn't stop eating! The staff all go above and beyond, making sure Mum's personal care is always done discreetly and maintaining Mum's dignity. Mum loves the food that the exceptional cooks provide every day, with a menu to rival any restaurant. She even eats salad, which she wouldn't eat before. The entertainment programme is amazing. Mum especially loves the singing on a Friday. I can honestly say that the home has given Mum a fulfilling life, with her dementia.
I am happy to say that my mum received a great service of care at the Kinmel Lodge and is very well looked after.
Staff are very caring.
The staff at Kinmel Lodge provide care where they really understand the individual needs. My mum feels safe and secure there, and she is very happy and well cared for.
I visit this home on a regular basis. Each time I visit I find the staff extremely helpful and welcoming. They are wonderful with the service users, they are kind and courteous at all times. They do everything in their power to make the residents happy and comfortable. They are always looking for ways to entertain the residents. All the people I speak to on my visit are happy there. The building is very clean and well-run. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone in need of residential care, or to anyone who has a relative in need care.
My poor dad was overdosed whilst living at Kinmel Lodge. Kinmel Lodge admitted to overdosing the medication. Jubilee Celebration party he was dancing and eating cake with all of his family. Just weeks later he became bedridden and never walked again - we lost my dad at the end of August.
My dad seemed happy at Kinmel Lodge. Our usual visits involved singing, encouraging him to dance or taking dad out. In July 2022 everything changed. On Friday I visited and couldn't get him to keep his eyes open as though he'd been sedated. I mentioned it to the staff and they said he'd been very lively but had tired himself out. On the Sunday he was worse but we got the staff to put him in his wheelchair for his usual trip out. He wasn't himself, barely getting a response other than a yelp of pain when we put his foot on the footrest. Wednesday he was worse and had no response but again I was told he'd been lively by the staff. Friday he was in a terrible state with a massive pressure sore and he was very unwell. A week later he was hospitalised and he died at the end of August. On the basis of my devastating experience I cannot recommend Kinmel Lodge.
Great to catch up on Mum's progress. Lot of time to express any concerns bout her, however, I don't really have any. Very happy with Mum's progress here.
My sister moved into Kinmel Lodge earlier this year on February 11th 2022. Due to personal circumstances, I have been unable to visit, much to my distress, until 15th September this year. However, I have been in regular contact with her and staff at Kinmel Lodge over the phone and been kept updated to how she is and everything that concerns her. Staff at Kinmel Lodge have been marvellous and obviously very caring. I visited on 15th September finally. All staff were extremely kind and very welcoming. Wonderful to see my sister at last. She seemed very happy and content, well cared for and safe. A great relief for me. Kinmel Lodge is an excellent home and very well run. I was very impressed with everything. I was made to feel very welcome and hopefully will be able to visit more frequently.
The staff are always friendly and always at hand to answer any questions and nothing ever seems too much trouble for them. My mother seems settled and happy and making new friends. Would highly recommend the Kinmel Lodge.
My father had dementia and when Kimmel Lodge was identified through a social services assessment as a facility that could cater well to his needs. The arrangements were made and my father was transferred to their care. He was in good physical condition for his age but had dementia-related issues. Going into a home was not something anyone wished for my father and making this decision was difficult for everyone. We rang regularly and were given updates suggesting he was okay but not settling too well but that there was no cause for concern. My brother visited and sat with my father who was upset but the staff said he was ok. At no point did the home phone any family member to suggest anything was wrong. This all changed after day 6. A phone call was received to say my father had fallen, been transferred to hospital and the home would not take him back! In hospital, a urinary infection was diagnosed and extreme dehydration. He did not recover and died shortly after.
My mother has been a resident at Kinmel Lodge for 3 years now, I couldn't have found a better care home for my mother. The staff always do their utmost to make her feel at home, nothing is ever too much trouble. I am informed all the time of Mum's wellbeing and are welcomed with warmth and kindness when visiting. Excellent choice of residence for any resident.
The decision to have our sister admitted to a care home wasn’t an easy one but we couldn’t be happier. The difference in our sister is incredible and that’s down to the manager and her staff We couldn’t recommend the Lodge enough, they are amazing at what they do. Thank you very much guys.
I've just had one week's respite from my husband who has Alzheimer's. What a great care home, more like home from home. They had my husband talking and taking part in various activities (which is unusual for him). He seemed very happy and when we left today I swear he had a tear in his eye. I hope I can continue their good work at home myself.
A massive thank you to all the staff at Kinmel Lodge for looking after my Dad so well while he was there for respite care.
