View Full Details of Wynne CrestStaff are very good with residents and visitors. New management seems to be good and helpful. The security of rooms is not always good, often left wide open, with the excuse that cleaners are operating. When I have gone to my mother's room, I have never seen a cleaner and could have wandered anywhere as there was nobody else around. The overall impression is good but improvement could be made.
My husband lives here and is happy with the home, staff and food he has. His care is well met by the staff. Any concerns I have are listened to and taken on board by staff Everyone seems happy there.
Everyone is very friendly, polite and helpful. My mother has been there for over a year (December 2016). She is very happy there. If there are any concerns the manager or a member of staff is very approachable, will listen and then act upon a request or concern.
My sister and I are pleased with the care and support given to my parents. The staff are friendly and caring. My dad is also happy with the care they all do their best to make things work? Could do with some sort of cupboard to store tooth brushes etc.
Overall impression was a friendly, caring approach. When I lost consciousness through a TIA one one occasion, the response was quick, appropriate and caring. Cleanliness is marked below lower than it might have been because I was a resident at a time when regular staff were on holiday and no replacement could be provided. Food and drink below is marked lower below thank it might have been because I am a vegetarian and lactose intolerant with a small appetite. I did appreciate that some vegetarian food (burgers and soya yoghurt) was brought in especially for me, very little fresh fruit was supplied.
I spent five weeks in respite care in Wynne Crest. Whilst the fabric of the Home is tired the owners are starting to address this on the recommendation of the Manager and rooms are being refurbished on a rolling basis and it is to be hoped the communal areas will follow. The staff are caring, helpful and friendly. There is good clear leadership and staffing levels are being addressed as occupancy levels are increasing. Offering long term, respite and day care provides a much-needed resource and add-on benefits such as activities, hairdressing etc provide wrap around care. The food is very good and the baking excellent. Visitors are warmly welcomed at any time throughout the day. There is a friendly but professional atmosphere which helps residents feel secure and cared for.
Our friend has just become a resident, initially for respite care, while we are on holiday. His room is spotless, the staff are cheerful and friendly. The care plan is very detailed with his wishes being taken into account. The atmosphere is relaxed but very efficient.
Although the fabric of the building is not brilliant the care given to my friend has been exemplary, over and above what you would expect form a residential care home.
My mother has been particularly well cared for at Wynne Crest by committed, courteous staff. There is often singing on exercises or other activities going on and there are always staff around talking to residents. I would like to praise the staff for for the end of life care they are giving my mother, enabling her to remain in her own bed rather than being admitted to hospital. I cannot speak highly enough of the care, compassion and dignity they have shown.
