From the tour of the home to leaving Mum on her first day we have felt nothing but comfort and warmth from all who work there. Looking forward to spending time with Mum in such a lovely environment. We are sure she will be well looked after and can't thank the team enough for this.
I spend every Sunday at the home. The staff in Ty Draw Lodge, are just amazing. On Sunday 17th September 2023. My father was not in a happy mood I couldn't get him to eat any of his Sunday lunch. One of the staff members came over and with so much patience he managed to get my father to eat, my father was not nice to me or the member of staff but he stayed calm and so caring and watched my father, it took him half an hour but he not only got my dad to eat but got him to smile. Amazing patience all the staff have and they all really enjoy looking after everyone who lives in the home. They are all heroes. They even look after and care for me as well. Such an amazing team.
My mum recently moved into Ty Draw, and it has been wonderful to see her thriving under the care given here. She is active, involved, smiley and happy whenever we go there. The staff are amazing, genuinely caring and enjoying being with the residents. Love the new addition of the Baa Bar - what a great initiative! Thank you for everything you do for Mum - being so far away, it is lovely to know she is so happy and cared for.
I often pop in to see Mum and I am always welcomed with a smile and taken to Mum. I can honestly say that the team are always attentive and loving towards the residents. We were worried about moving Mum into a home, not knowing if it was the right thing to do, and this home could not have helped us through the transiton any better. Most of the team know my family by first name, which again makes us feel comfortable when we visit. Thanks to all of you for what you have done and will continue to do going forward.
I am so pleased that Mum has settled so well at Ty-Draw Lodge. This is down to the staff, management and the great environment they have created at the home. At first, I thought, it was a bit off that someone would stop a conversation, to help a resident out in some way, when talking to you but now I understand that the residents come first. They give Mum plenty of care and attention, which can be seen when they stop and talk to Mum as they pass, Mum has a big smile on her face, the food is good and varied, and I have joined Mum for meals at times. They have plenty of activities for the residents to join in and I have seen them get everyone involved where possible. It is great to see videos from these activities, that are sent out to family members. All of Mum’s needs are met, from doctors visits opticians ect, I take my hat off to the home for the care Mum is now receiving. Truly an amazing place, which has taken a lot of stress off the family.
We used the bar for Dad's birthday and was amazing. Then on the Sunday came back and sat in garden before coming back to Scotland. We were looked after the whole time we were there. My dad looks amazing and so happy. Thank you all for everything you do.
It was with great reluctance that the decision to put our relative into care. We as a family worried about her settling and being distressed. We need not have worried! She has settled amazingly. We are so impressed with the real kindness and compassion that is shown by the staff. They go out of their way to welcome us as well. I have a healthcare background and am impressed not only with the care but the safety of the staff. No doubt from me a 5* rating.
Mum has Alzheimer’s and moved into Ty Draw Lodge in July 2022. She settled in very well and we have been so so happy with all aspects of care. The most important factor is the staff. Consistent, caring, and friendly staff who treat Mum as an individual. Really wonderful! Thank you so much to the manager and the whole team.
I chose this care home for my dad as it was deemed not safe for my dad to stay in his own home via safeguarding due to abuse/neglect. I can honestly say, this has been the best decision for him, within a few months my dad looks so healthy and happy, he’s clean, fed, looked after and more importantly he is happy. His room is airy, lovely and clean. The staff have been so understanding due to the sensitive nature, I only wish I could put before and after photos, as the change in my dad is remarkable. He feels he is at home, with people who genuinely care about him. He has made so many new friends with the other residents and staff and he enjoys the table tennis nights, singalong nights, and playing games, there is always something going on in the home to keep him entertained and enjoys the food which is made fresh on the day. This is a beautiful home, with park views, lovely staff and residents, I could not ask for anything more for my dad.
I went to visit my sister again and as usual very pleased with the way she is cared for. The staff are extremely caring helpful and polite, they not only care for the residents but make sure the visitors are cared for while there. I also met the owner and her sister who at the time was tending the front garden area and it looked splendid, they were both very happy to chat with me that’s not easy as I can talk for hours, but seriously Ty Draw Lodge is very well run and has the most attentive and caring owners and staff. I can’t say enough about them and I don’t have to worry about my sister she is very well looked after.
Mum has lived at Ty Draw Lodge for the last four years she has blossomed since being there. She enjoys her time there and is well cared for and takes part in activities and listening to music. The staff are amazing with her and take time to see she is always cared for and happy as a family. We know she was looked after throughout covid she was kept safe and we had updates via email and video call which was reassuring.
My sister has been a resident for a number of years and had excellent care from all the carers and management. Problems or enquiries resolved immediately. Very friendly and time given to each resident. The food is extremely good, very varied and with a good choice. All in all, an excellent residential home.
Ty Draw Lodge is a very well run home. My dad before he went in last September 2020, was really deteriorating and looking frail as he was not eating properly. But has since he has been here, he has put weight on and enjoys the atmosphere, and has great relationships with all the staff as he's cheeky and is very witty. All the staff treat him well and they do an exceptional job. Ty Draw Lodge is excellent and always updated with emails.
The care and support of all the residents, not just towards my relative, has been outstanding from all staff at Ty Draw Lodge. Obviously with limited visitations and at first with clear segregation devices in place, face to face contact was still enabled when the pandemic emerged. Now not able to have face to face contact, the digital platform Facetime has been fantastic. Regular updates regarding our relatives are provided via email, photos frequently attached showing new hairstyles or involvement in activities. All the staff are willing and able, caring and at the beck and call of the residents, this provides me with the knowledge that my relative is safe and well. A definite recommendation for this home. Well done to all the staff; it is very much appreciated for what you have done and continue to do.
Ty Draw Lodge staff have been wonderful during the past pandemic year, at a real cost to their own personal situations. It has been an incredibly challenging time for all involved, but everyone has gone out of their way to ensure my mother is as comfortable and as happy as she can be. The home is bright and clean, with an excellent range of food. The staff are some of the most caring people I have ever known - watching her health each day, and providing Ipads and setting everything up so that I can Facetime my mother each day, even when they are incredibly busy. They also ensure that activities that would have been undertaken by external people still take place, making sure the residents are stimulated and entertained during the day. When it was possible before full lockdown, the owner and managers went out of their way to provide areas for visiting outside and inside. In my opinion, the love, care and attention given by the staff to the residents is something very special.
Mum's only been there for two weeks, but so far, we have had nothing but the best from the manager and all the staff. We are kept up to date with Mums progress and how she is settling. We are unable to visit due to the Covid, which is a bit upsetting, but the updates are regular and assure us that Mum is ok. Looking forward to visiting and meeting everyone. So far, I would give Ty Draw Lodge 5* and have no concerns at all.
If you are unfortunate to have to source a care home for your loved ones, then please include this lovely care home to your list, this is undoubtedly one of the best in the area. This is a well run, caring and residentially attentive homes, not one that is of huge proportion but of a decent size where residents can obtain every need that is necessary. I have a friend at this home and is always attended to with what is necessary, love, care, needs etc, certainly 5stars for me. Well done Ty Lodge, you are a credit to this industry... excellent owner and very professional manager.
All good - staff, food and good care. A great place to be at my age of 73.
The staff are lovely!!
I am very happy here. The food is good, and the staff are all pleasant and helpful.
