View Full Details of Wentworth LodgeMy mother has thrived since moving to Wentworth Lodge. I was worried that she wouldn't settle after moving in following a fall in her own flat. However, all the staff made such an effort to make her feel welcome, maintaining her safety whilst still seemingly allowing her to feel independent and in control. She arrived there very underweight and now she enjoys the home-cooked, lovely food and is a healthy weight, thanks to the care she has received. She had been isolating before moving here but the activities staff and care staff involve her in all types of activities. I did not realise how competitive or sociable she was. They really have given a 99-year-old lady a new lease of life. I am deeply grateful for all their hard work.
Several years ago, it was necessary for my mother to move to a care home. I visited a few local homes and chose Wentworth Lodge. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure the care is good and personal. As it's a relatively small home, they are able to really get to know each resident, their likes/dislikes etc. They always let me know if there are any issues or if my mother needs anything. During the current pandemic, they have allowed socially distanced visiting whenever possible and when safe to do so. Alternatively, the duty manager is always available to speak to on the phone for updates. All in all, I know my mother is being cared for and is safe.
I moved my mother from a care home in Bodmin to Cardiff, as I live in Cardiff. Because of lockdown and restrictions, it was not easy but all through the process, the manager was very helpful and dealt with everything. My mother is much happier in Cardiff and I cannot fault the care she gets. The carers are always helpful and nothing is too much for them. At this point in time, I have only been allowed to see her and talk a few times because of restrictions but I do talk to her through the window sometimes. We are more than happy with her care.
