View Full Details of The Newton Grange Residential Care Home"Letting Mum go" after 20 years of living with me was very difficult. Newton Grange is home from home. Wonderful staff - warm and friendly always caring. She's transitioned well & already sees it as her home.
I am very happy with how my great auntie is being treated and can confidently say she has settled in here more than her previous residencies, and is happy to call this place home.
Great care and well-maintained setting. Mum is happy and well looked after.
Lovely residential care home. Small and feels luxurious yet homely, nice airy lounge with sea views, lovely decor in the dining room. Mum's room is large with an en-suite and sea view. Staff are caring and lots of activities are provided including choir, outing, exercise, hairdresser and arts and crafts., Family made to feel welcome. This was the only home I liked and I'm pleased with my choice as it's a 'home from home' I recommend.
Fantastic building situated on a hill overlooking mumbles with sea views throughout. Clean and beautifully furnished, comfortable communal sitting area, dining area and well equipped bedroom with own en-suite. Very homely, good food. Care plans could be shared more with family as updates and communication is helpful but staff are very good with residents and family. We are always made to feel welcome and offered a cup of tea. The activities are great. Mum us as happy as can be.
I had been unwell for a period of time and was unable to visit dad, the support they showed my dad as I know he was missing me so the home very kindly arranged to contact me via my phone and I was able to see and speak to him and he was able to do the same. I honestly think this helped speed up my recovery as I was so happy and thankful for all the lovely carers that work at his home. They show him care, friendliness, comfort and dignity at a very difficult time of my dad's life.
My father has been a resident of this care home for the past year. They are truly amazing, he is loved, well cared for, safe and happy. I cannot give one negative comment. This is a care home of the most highest standard and I never have to worry regarding his care and happiness. Just amazing on all levels.
My mother has been a resident for over a year at The Newton Grange Residential Care Home. The care and compassion my mother receives from every member of staff is excellent. They are extremely good at their job and are warm and caring. My mum is very content and happy at the home and I can't tell you how lucky I was to find a place like this. The staff do an outstanding job and I can't thank them enough.
My Mum fell and broke her hip in August 2023. It was such a difficult and upsetting time knowing the family could not provide 24/7 care to keep my Mum safe and well. The thought of my Mum going into a care home was so daunting. My Mum is from Mumbles so when Newton Grange was suggested a visit was arranged. We had the warmest welcome and we were so impressed with the home that was immaculate and had a lovely family feel. We met some of the residents who all seemed happy and content. My Mum has now lived there for over a year. The staff are amazing, thoughtful, and professional. As I cannot be there every day staff send me photos of Mum when she has had a haircut, or she is out enjoying herself on an activity. This is so appreciated. I visit and my little dog (who my Mum adores) is always welcomed (by the staff and other residents who are always happy to see him). My Mum has made many new friends here who I have also become very fond of. Knowing my Mum is safe and cared for is priceless.
From day one the staff were very friendly and helpful. The care that is given is amazing. The house is beautiful and the room was amazing with incredible views. It feels like a home from home. My mother enjoyed delicious home-cooked food.
All the staff are very caring, friendly and very professional. The home has a lovely atmosphere and has many events to keep the residents interested.
As someone who lives across the country, having access to my mum via the telephone is essential. The staff have always been super helpful and informative and very caring too. The home is beautiful and I feel assured at how well cared for she is. They have a residents line which has been a lifeline for chatting to my mum and I can see via their social media account all the lovely activities that are going on for her to participate in when she can.
My mum was at Newton Grange for only eight months before she passed away. The care she received was exemplary. This is a lovely, homely and friendly home. I was there most days, visiting, and one of the things that impressed me so much was that there were always the same staff. The food was amazing and lovely homemade treats every day for tea. My mum especially enjoyed the activities and entertainment on offer. You can never be bored at Newton Grange! The staff handled my mum’s end-of-life care with love and compassion, for which I will be forever grateful.
My brother has been so well cared for by all the staff at Newton Grange. He feels settled and at home here and certainly enjoys his food. He has the freedom to stay in his room or go down to the lounge and decide for himself what he chooses to do. The staff go over and above the line of duty to give him the best quality of life his health permits and he enjoyed his birthday treat out. We are very pleased and grateful for the support he receives.
My grandmother came to Newton Grange in December 2022. There is no other home that comes close to Newton Grange. The wonderful and dedicated staff, the friendly and sociable residents and the happy atmosphere. Granny has settled in very well and always has a smile on her face. We are so happy that she feels comfortable and peaceful. The incredible manager who is always there to help and support us and makes us feel like one big family.
My friend was admitted to Newton Grange approx 10 months ago. In the time I have visited her, I am aware of the harmonious and peacefulness in the day room. There is always something going on to interact residents with, gardening, cooking and quizzes which is so beneficial both to staff and residents. Food is ample, looks plentiful, and is nutritious and the residents enjoy it too. The decor of the day room and dining room is light, airy and welcoming to visitors and residents. Overall a wonderful caring home for the elderly.
The general atmosphere of the home is very cordial, warm, physically and emotionally. My aunt is treated with dignity and love and she is obviously very happy. The quality of care and provision makes one feel that this is a fine and friendly country hotel!
My mother is very happy at Newton Grange. She is safe, looked after and enjoys contributing to communal activities. The staff take a great interest in her life and she enjoys when local schools visit the hoe and she can share her recollections with them.
My mum has been residing at Newton Grange for the past 4 years. The staff are excellent and have always been very caring. The recent addition of the lady who provides activities has been very welcome and although Mum is no longer able to participate, I'm sure she enjoys watching. Two members of staff are lovely and they genuinely seem to care for Mum. It's so hard putting Mum into care but I am overall pleased with the care she's receiving.
My aunt has been in Newton Grange since November 2021. She is in her 90's with dementia and the staff there are amazing. It's a beautiful, clean place with a homely atmosphere. The main lounge is beautiful with a stunning chandelier which is always a topic of conversation for my aunt. There are always things to do and involvement from the local community/school. The staff are extremely friendly and approachable whilst providing not only a high standard of care but a friendship too. The bedrooms are more spacious than standard care homes and the view upstairs from the back rooms is exceptional. The food is superb too with a chef employed at the providing a good selection of meals with fresh fruit and vegetables. All in all, this is a great home if you are considering a safe, pleasant and comfortable place for a friend or family member. I can highly recommend them and have found no faults in any areas.
