View Full Details of Dan y BrynAwful treatment towards the end of life. They wanted to move her as she was dying and tried to get extra money from the family for her care when they had already been funded by the government. Had to locate advocates etc. A very stressful time. Management is awful but the general staff are amazing.
In the time my brother in law has been at the Dan y Bryn residential home in Pontardawe, Swansea, it never ceases to amaze me how nice a place it is. The staff are so helpful and courteous, always there to help in any way. The food and hygiene are of the top order, the rooms are always clean and the laundry service is really good. I would recommend this residential home to anyone. Add to all that the building is being upgraded - the icing on the cake.
Some very helpful staff including managers. Unfortunately, communication and implementation of care plan between shifts and staff need to be looked at. Not acceptable to miss a dose of medication. Carers need to have training in looking after Parkinson's patients. Some have little grasp on the day to day issues they face particularly those whose Parkinson's is very advanced as is the case with my father.
My wife’s first involvement with The Care Home was in respite, which we found to be to her liking, so when the time came that I couldn’t cope with her at home, as I am 82, and have problems of my own. The obvious choice was the home we knew and trusted. My wife has been in the home for a year now. I must say that the staff and management have lived up to the reputation they have locally, especially putting the emphasis on “home”.
I was at the home for 10 days in July, the home was very comfortable and clean, the food was good and plentiful. My daughter was very pleased with the way I was treated, as was I. I would be pleased to stay there again. I would like to thank the staff for all the help they gave me. The staff were very good.
The care home is a purpose built home set in pleasant grounds with good views of the Swansea Valley. Residents have their own rooms with an adjacent toilet and washing area, they are of a good size. The sitting room and dining area are also of a good size. The residents have a television in the sitting room and a good music system with a large selection of all types of music. The residents also can have a TV in their own room.
My brother has been in Danybryn for eleven years. He settled in immediately. The facilities and staff are wonderful; as is the food and activities. He is treated as if he was family and I know he is being well looked after. Thank you Danybryn.
