View Full Details of The Rookery Care HomeSince my mother-in-law has been here the staff have been very helpful happy and always about if you need anything. She seems very happy here and seem really settled.
I am satisfied with the care that my mother is receiving. The facilities are good and the staff are also good. My main concern is to do with the apparent lack of activities/entertainment for the resident. I have not seen any take place during the last 4 months. Otherwise, all good.
I have visited this home for some time and the standard of care remains very good. It is a very happy and safe environment for everyone. Many thanks to the staff.
My mother has been at The Rookery Care Home for two years and in that time we have had no concerns as a family. She is well looked after and we are kept well informed regarding her care.
Placement has been a very positive thing for Mam. The environment is cheerful and welcoming. Activities encourage residents to participate and keep them busy and engaged. The staff are approachable and helpful and treat residents with respect but also as if they were family members.
The treatment my mother has received from the staff has been first class. They are attentive to all residents and all approachable. The management handle quires in a timely manner and respond to all issues that are raised.
Mam has settled well. She is well looked after, enjoys the company of the carers, enjoys the food. She always looks clean and cared for. Her health and happiness have definitely improved as she now has 24/7 care
Excellent care given to my sister and have no concerns about her being cared for and looked after. She has a comfortable room and all facilities are close by for her. All staff are caring and helpful to her and myself.
My wife has been a resident for over two years. Initially I was anxious about her placement but it soon became obvious that she was in the care of lovely people from the most senior to junior member. Consequently she has settled and has a smile on her face. She has been treated with kindness and dignity and I have no doubt about the correctness of the placement. It's not unusual to hear a member of staff say 'I love my job'. The Rookery Care Home appears to be well lead by senior staff who are open to suggestions and are responsive. All staff deserve public recognition for their dedication to the task of creating a positive environment. Well done everyone.
The first moment I set foot through the door the staff there were polite and helpful. They showed me around as my mother-in-law was going to stay there. It was clean and well looked after. I spoke to other residents and all seemed happy and well cared for. Lots of activities for them. Arts and crafts. Fetes and singers in the evening. My mother-in-law was there a few weeks, this was the first time that she felt relaxed, safe and cared for. She said the food was lovely and couldn't ask for better people looking after her. Nothing was too much trouble, they had time to spend with her. Would personally like to thank the deputy manager, senior care assistant and two other staff members as they were the ones who spent the most time with her. For the amazing care that they gave her. We felt at ease when she was in their care. Also the others that were there for her also. My mother-in-law was only there a few weeks but they were really happy for her. Would recommend this home. 5 stars for everything. Thank you from both of us.
Speaking on behalf of myself and the rest of the family. I cannot praise the staff and management enough. The loving care they have shown my mother-in-law has been amazing and the carers are very special people. Their care has also extended to the family and we will be eternally grateful for their love and support during a very difficult time. Thank you all.
My mother-in-law recently passed away at the age of 102. She was a resident at the Rookery Care Home since February 2021. We have been more than happy with the excellent care she received throughout this period. As her health gradually declined over the past few months, she was treated with kindness and patience and no effort was spared in ensuring that she was made as comfortable as possible. Mention must also be made regarding housekeeping at The Rookery. Her room and personal belongings have always been immaculately kept and she repeatedly enthused about her 'lovely meals'. In conclusion, the family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to everyone involved in the care of my mother-in-law.
I visited my neighbour/friend at The Rookery. The outside of the building is very inviting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms and surroundings are clean and very nicely set out. He told me how caring everyone was (I could see this for myself whilst visiting). I was very impressed with everyone and everything I saw. I would recommend visiting if a relative needs care.
I live abroad and this is the first opportunity I've had to visit my mum since she came to live at The Rookery. My first impression was that the home was clean, fresh and inviting. I was greeted warmly by the staff and spent several hours a day in a row visiting Mum and observing the day-to-day operations. I was never made to feel uncomfortable or a burden. The staff are extremely professional and genuinely caring and compassionate to all the residents no matter how difficult or tedious the task at hand. The level of care my mum is receiving is far above my expectations. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they do for my mum and the other residents, and for easing any worries I had about Mum's care and well being.
In March my father moved into The Rookery Residential Home in Ebbwvale. A normal day for my Dad, after he gets up in the morning he is assisted with a shower. He is dressing in clean clothes. He is then taken to the dining room for breakfast which can be cereal or a warm breakfast. After breakfast, there are options for activities but by this time Dad often has a cup of tea and a nap. While all this is going on his bed is stripped and his room is thoroughly cleaned it smells so fresh all the time. Dad is brought drinks roughly every 1 1/2 hours hot and cold drinks that he is encouraged to drink. They have a cooked lunch and a lovely pudding. After lunch Dad usually gets involved with the activities, he is always very proud of what he has made. Since my Dad has been there he has needed to see the doctor twice and each time it’s been arranged in a timely manner. As a family, we are so impressed with the wonderful care my Dad is given. I highly recommend this care home.
Mam entered the Rookery early in January 2024. Took a short while for her to settle. The staff did and still do everything they can to help and reassure her, whatever the time, day or night. We ring every day and if needs be they ring me for a chat with Mam. They are quick to pick up if there is a medical problem and get it sorted straight away. We as a family are very grateful to all the staff.
Carers are very kind to my nan. I hated the thought of my nan being in there for Christmas, to be honest, but they made it so fabulous for her, I'm so grateful for everything they do. The decorations, parties, making sure everyone was included - just brilliant.
It’s a traumatic experience when your loved ones can no longer manage to live without full care. It is comforting, however, to know that there are places like this that can provide a safe and caring environment. The range of activities provided to stimulate and entertain residents is marvellous. The rooms are very nice and it is set in a nice area with a lovely garden. The food is great and between meals, there is regular tea and biscuits and cakes. Most importantly, the care is excellent. Residents have priority access to doctors and dentists which is much harder at home. The staff are lovely and build a genuine bond and rapport with the residents. One of my mother’s carers returned to work early, following an operation, because she was concerned my mother would be distressed by her absence. I don’t think my mother would be alive now if she didn’t have the care she has here. Sadly, her needs are beyond what the family can provide so I am thankful for this place.
As a family, we have nothing at all to complain about with The Rookery Care Home. The staff are always so welcoming to people visiting. Our mother was always treated with care, love, respect and dignity. The staff are all amazing. The activities they provide are great and when it ever came to a health issue, the staff would always inform us. There should most definitely be more homes like this. The Rookery is an excellent example of how to care and treat the residents. During my mother's last days at The Rookery, the staff were there for us, as a family, and our mother. Nothing was too much for them. I will 100% recommend The Rookery. Thank you to everyone for all you done for our mother.
All the staff at The Rookery Care Home provide my mum with the care she requires in a dignified and professional manner. They are extremely caring and also very friendly to residents and their visitors. My mum recently had to go into hospital and the support given to my mum and her daughters was outstanding. On her return, the greeting she received was beautiful. You could tell my mum was glad to be home. Changes to her care needs were met immediately. I can't thank the staff enough for the love and care given to my mum.
