View Full Details of Cornwall ParkMum was admitted to Cornwall Park after a crisis and we have been nothing short of grateful for the excellent care she is receiving. We were immediately struck by the calm and caring ethos when we first visited and this started at our first point of contact with the manager. Staff at all levels, are kind, respectful, patient and pay attention to detail. Of course, it took some weeks for Mum to settle (not helped by the fact that she is visually impaired) but we were reassured by the effort made to help her e.g. moving rooms to a quieter area and immediate communication if there were concerns. It is a huge relief to know that Mum is safe and well cared for. My lower rating for 'value for money' is based on the fact that self-funded full-time care costs are absurdly high where ever, so this is not directed specifically to Cornwall Park.
My mother has been in Cornwall Park now for almost 2 years. She is 96 and has all her mental facilities. She is not capable of looking after herself and needs support with physical elements. As a family, we have found the staff and management to be very good and do a great job. One downside is my mother is alongside dementia sufferers and finds it a lovely place sometimes as no one to talk to properly.
We are well satisfied with the care and attention that Dad is getting, however we are not entirely happy with the small room, but know he is on a waiting list.
Lovely environment in every way!
I never knew Cornwall Park existed until a friend informed me that a very dear friend was a resident in the home. I made a journey on the 17th of May especially to see that friend! I was made very welcome by the staff and after 3 hours with him, I was overwhelmed by the attention the residents received from the nursing staff! A very beautiful building and the inside was amazing the decor, the furniture, the freshness, etc. It is like being at home! I feel very blessed and happy to see how the elderly are so well looked after! All the very best for the future!
As a regular visitor, I have witnessed a variety of activities going on. Service users are encouraged and assisted to participate. The staff regularly go out of their way to ensure the comfort and mental health of the service user. I find it difficult to comment on the value of money as I am in no way privy to the financial aspect of the service. I take comfort in knowing that my dear friend is safe and well cared for.
I have visited my friend several times since he moved to Cornwall Park. I have always been impressed with the staff's welcome and friendliness. My friend seems very happy and well cared for in what is a very pleasant house.
When visiting a friend the staff are friendly and accommodating. Refreshments are provided and are excellent. Everywhere looks clean, tidy, and well looked after. The residents are well looked after and always clean and well dressed.
I am currently visiting a friend who is now a permanent resident in Cornwall Park but has connections since 2014 when my husband was cared for until he died in 2016. He is fondly remembered by staff who are still in the place and it is a delight to feel so at home after a long period when going back! The atmosphere is relaxed and caring and the staff are to be commended for their care and support.
My granny was a resident from October 23 until she passed away February 24. She received excellent care from all the staff. We as a family were kept informed of her health. The home is run well and the food served is good and home-cooked. She had plenty of snacks and drinks available. Her final few days of life she was given excellent end-of-life care. Thank you to the manager and all the staff.
My wife has been in your care for five years and it is testament to your high standards that she is still alive today as we were originally told she would not live more than two years from 2015! This has been confirmed by her old GP.
My brother moved into Cornwall Park in May 2018. He was immobile and in a seriously poor state of health and given his medical situation, we, as a family, did not expect him to be with us by the following Christmas. Now, almost three years later, my brother is very mobile and in sound health. He is generally in great spirits and extremely happy. All of this completely remarkable change in my brother is as a result of the exceptional genuine care, devotion and love demonstrated by every member of staff at Cornwall Park. They really are quite a brilliant team and we, as a family, cannot thank them enough.
My friend has been in Cornwall Park since 2019. He seems happy here. It's a lot better home than he was in down in England. Just one thing he tells me, he is confused who the manager is.
Last year was impossible for all. Cornwall Park did everything in their power to keep safe and look after my mother.
My Aunt has been in Cornwall Park for just over 15 months, much against her will, but necessary. She settled down well and likes her room, food and staff. I personally have found the staff empathetic to her needs and always a great atmosphere when we can visit. We hope once we can visit again all will be well.
It is difficult to write a review at the moment as my father has only been in Cornwall Park a few weeks and obviously it has been impossible to visit him. However, he says that all the staff there are very caring and always pleasant and cheerful. Also, he really enjoys the food and comments almost every day about a meal he has particularly enjoyed. He is however, like many others at the moment, rather frustrated at the current restrictions and looking forward to being able to socialise again with the other residents.
It was good to be able to visit and see my husband once again. He is looking well. Staff are working hard to keep him safe and managing to be cheerful. Having a newsletter with photos really helps as it is difficult with this pandemic. I appreciate all that they do and understand that restrictions are once again in place and I am happy to abide by any rules, which means their safety is paramount. Keep up the good work.
Cornwall Park is an excellent care home. Staff and management provide exemplary care to all residents and have excelled themselves during the very difficult situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cornwall Park to anyone in need of care.
I have always found staff and management to be most helpful, caring and considerate with all the dealings I have had with them. My father is happy and settled, well looked after even with his ongoing health problems. Staff always keep me informed and up to date with all aspects fo my father's care. I would be happy to recommend this care home to anyone.
