View Full Details of Glenburnie Care HomeA good experience, friendly and hard-working staff. Always there to help you and explain anything that has happened. My mum's room is always clean.
Glenburnie Care Home provides excellent facilities and care to residents. As a visitor to this home, I have always felt welcome and included in decisions regarding my mum's care. The home is very clean and well-maintained at all times. The food always looks appetising and plentiful. Residents choose from a menu daily. The staff I have witnessed treat residents with kindness and dignity.
Very homely atmosphere, staff give excellent care, both the manager and deputy manager is approachable and go out of their way to make residents feel at home and their families. The staff are always ready to listen to residents and go the extra mile to help.
I would pop in now and again to see a friend and always made welcome. I have been in when a singer has been in and what a great atmosphere, nice to see the staff up dancing with the residents. The therapy pets are a favourite of my friends.
The level of care is so personnel, the home has adapted quickly to my mum's ever-changing condition. They are so quick to identify when something isn’t right and act on it. She is well cared for, and she, in turn, loves the staff.
This is a friendly, warm and welcoming home. Staff are always happy to assist if needed. All residents seem to be content and relaxed.
Like everything about Glenburnie, location and it’s very homely. The staff are very welcoming, and I know my mum will receive the care and attention she requires.
My parents have resided in the care home for a couple of months. My mum has dementia but seems very happy and content. She enjoys various activities and likes to join in. She is looked after very well as staff are attentive, friendly and professional in what they do. They are also very patient with her disabilities and dementia. My father is always praising staff on the way they are with mum and his self. He is starting to enjoy activities also. The food is amazing. Dad is always saying how much he enjoys the meals. Mum always finishes her meals too. Their rooms are also lovely with everything they need in them. Very clean and comfortable.
My mother has dementia and has been a resident in Glenburnie for over two years. She is content and happy in her surroundings. The staff are caring and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of her individual needs. Any change in her condition is quickly identified and appropriate action taken with the family being included in the process. Glenburnie has a very welcoming atmosphere. It is clean and homely. The food is tasty, freshly prepared on the premises and much enjoyed. Visitors are always offered tea, and it is lovely to be able to share this sociable experience with my mum. My father visits daily; very much enjoys his tea and cake (and special meals at Christmas). We also celebrated his 90th birthday in the home, and cook even made him a cake! These important details all contribute to Mum feeling Glenburnie is her home. Regular meetings for residents and relatives promote shared decision making, and there is clear evidence of the important management place on staff training.
I am so happy with how my aunt and uncle are both being looked after in the care home, due to my aunts health deteriorating, and not being so able - her and her husband have adapted well to the change. My aunt always talks about how lovely the staff are, and I observe them to be very happy, and nothing is a problem. Activities are available for service users on most days. The management team have been very helpful to me with the process of helping them both settle. Would highly recommend Glenburnie.
The care my aunt has received over the past 18 months has been excellent. The staff are so friendly, it is like walking into a family home. My aunt’s well-being has progressed enormously since moving to the home - she is stronger, healthier, has put weight on and is happy. The home communicates very well when there are any issues to be dealt with and the management are very approachable.
Very good staff and manager here, always make sure residents come first. Good and friendly atmosphere also very clean.
Everyone seems really good at their job. Nice surroundings and pleasant for visitors who are coming in.
My mum has been a resident in Glenburnie Care Home since November 2019. Her room in Glenburnie is a good size, bigger than the room she had in the previous care home she stayed in. Mum likes the fact that all the rooms in Glenburnie are en-suite and on the ground floor, in the previous care home her room was on the first floor, and she used the lift to get to and from the lounge/dining room, which was on the ground floor. Also, while she was there, she had to share a toilet/bathroom with about four other residents, so she likes the privacy of her own bathroom here. She also likes the fact that there are several lounge areas. The staff are always attentive and friendly, and Mum enjoys the food here. She has made friends with some of the other residents, and has enjoyed some of the entertainment which has been going on at the home - although I think she would like more!
My Mother in Law has been in Glenburnie for over 7 years and she has had very good care throughout. Staff have been mostly good carers but as in most care homes there are lots of changes of staff. As a family, we are happy with the home and staff and the care they have given our relative.
Our mother has been in Glenburnie for several years, she has dementia. The staff are always caring, patient and polite. The use of bank staff has reduced noticeably over these few years. The home is clean, the food fresh and plentiful, staff always offering tea and toast or similar between mealtimes or if a resident is poorly and out of sorts. The outside area has improved and inside has been redecorated. There are scheduled activities and regular residents relatives meeting to discuss any matters of concern. Our mum is happy here and we have peace of mind.
I have nothing but praise for Glenburnie Care Home and staff, my mother is treated with respect and dignity and as her needs change the staff adapt to suit her needs without any prompting from the family, they pick up on changes to her health and mobility very quickly. We as a family are always made to feel welcome, staff make you aware that this is our mother's home, I recently spoke to a couple of members of staff, one said they would be happy to come into this care home if and when required and another member who had worked elsewhere commented on how at Glenburnie they really care. The management always updates you on any changes required to her care plan, have monthly meetings for relatives, their input is very important to management, relatives have also had training on dementia and are encouraged to come for a meal with the residents in order for them to give their thoughts. Any suggestions that relatives have is taken on board and implemented if possible.
My aunt has been in Glenburnie care home over 4 years and has settled in greatly. Fab home, the staff are extremely pleasant and even helpful when visiting her. They take my elderly father and they are very helpful in assisting him in/out to the car. No complaints and I would definitely recommend.
Having experienced this home over a period of 18 months we found the home was unable to provide the care required by my mother who had deepening dementia despite being a dementia listed Care Home. Some of the staff within the home are pleasant and tried their best and sometimes in very difficult circumstances especially when running on minimum staff and we found bank staff used on numerous occasions. We found the lack of any management cover at a weekend strange and during evening times and weekends reliance for running the home appeared to be provided by a Senior Care Assistants. We also found at times the management to be defensive and slow to act on relatives feedback. We have since had to move my mother to another home with more experience in Dementia care.
Kind courteous, efficient staff, well looked after.
