View Full Details of Craigie HouseMy mum was referred to Craigie House for a 6 week assessment period after hospitalisation. She had cancer and was quite poorly when admitted. Her condition deteriorated and sadly she passed away on Sunday 11th June. The staff were excellent at Craigie House, particularly in the difficult 7-10 days prior to Mum's death. The care provided was compassionate and very caring. Mum was looked after extremely well. We were in awe of the way staff did their very best for Mum even when she was being a bit stubborn. They showed great patience and professionalism. The room Mum was in was small but initially, the expectation was that she would not be at Craigie House long term so this was understandable. It would have been helpful to have improved telephone contact with Mum as she was on the first floor and this made things a wee bit difficult. Overall our impression was extremely positive and although staff were stretched they had a smile for everyone. We were grateful for all their hard work and dedication.
My mum's gate has been broken by a resident for a few weeks now and not yet fixed. Because of this, other residents are walking into her room and disturbing her and today even physically shaking them. My mum was shaking when I came in to visit her and angry. Can we please have this gate repaired and put back on the door asap?
All the staff are very helpful and friendly and go above and beyond to ensure my mother is taken very well care of. She is very happy here. Rooms and en-suite bathrooms are a good standard and all areas are kept immaculately clean and tidy.
My mum was made to feel very welcome by a young enthusiastic team of carers who showed complete compassion and clear understanding of difficult circumstances. Since being in Craigie House my Mum has grown in confidence and is joining in with the activities when possible. Craigie House has excellent communication skills which is much appreciated with regular health updates.
