View Full Details of Kincaid HouseNo real problems with kincaid other than numerous brand new clothing items going missing despite being labelled. I object to being charged for labelling I feel this should be free. Have been phoned evening before regarding father's medical appointments to see if I could accompany, far to short notice. Father's personal hygiene could improve plus clothing cleanliness although I know my father can be difficult.
Great staff in great surroundings plenty of activities always something going on I know my mum is exceptionally well looked after! Always staff going round with fresh cakes tea etc and meals all through the day! Wouldn't have my mum anywhere else.
I attended my brother regularly at KINCAID HOUSE. I see how happy and contented he is. Every thing I have said is accurate. Every one at Kincaid are so friendly and attentive. I feel he is in a better place now. Thank you and everyone involved at KINCAID HOUSE.
My mother was a resident in Kincaid House for approx a year, when I visited she was always clean and tidy. The staff were very attentive and my mother was happy and content, her room was nice and she had a lovely view. The staff were kind and compassionate and made visitors welcome.
My mum has been in Kincaid House for a few months. I have been really impressed with the care they provide. My mum is being well looked after. The staff and management are amazing. Kincaid met all of my mum's needs. She has settled really well and has friends and a social life. Family are saying she's like a new person.
Good update on the situation. Catered all aspects of care. Anything we needed to know, we were informed about. Feel that this is a good place for my mother, meeting her needs.
My mum has only been in Kincaid House since September 2023 and has settled in very well, the staff and activities have been excellent for her. She has even made a couple of nice friendships with some of the other residents. Since my mum moving in, up to now, as a family, we have had no major problems and hope this will continue to be the case.
Our brother has received excellent care from all of the staff, they treat him with care and dignity, even on his grumpier days with great humour. The staff are highly approachable and helpful with any concerns we may have. Everyone from the chef, hairdresser, cleaning staff, admin nurses and managers, with a special call to the daily carers who go that extra mile, are just wonderful.
Since a new manager and two new assistant managers, the standard has gotten better. Two assistant managers are very proactive and easy to communicate with. There is a high turnover of care staff, which is not so good. All departments run well and efficiently.
I attended a six monthly review which was attended by myself, assistant manager and nurse. Both staff members work on same unit as my relative and know him and his routines well. Prior to review I was provided with hard copy of previous review which meant I could focus on the structure of review, it also highlighted decisions made at previous review. The review covered all aspects of my relatives care, giving me a clear picture of what his daily routines may consist off. I was informed how staff manage his needs and what decisions are taken daily to ensure his day/night focuses on his needs taking account of his moods etc. Food, medication, personal care, laundry, were discussed. I was given an opportunity to ask questions and anything that I had concerns about were noted. On the whole the review provided me with a good picture of my relatives daily routine. My only negative is I felt the review was slightly rushed, however I acknowledge that staff members are extremely busy.
My husband is well looked after. The staff has always been friendly and professional. The care home is clean and well cared for. He is to be put on a calorie-controlled diet as he has gained over 10kg since he arrived last August. I hope to see this applied professionally. I would like to see the lounge look more intimate, more like a home. The current position of the chairs against the walls is not conducive to any sense of homeliness.
Whilst there may have been a deterioration in service due to COVID and its lasting restrictions, I now feel Kincaid House is back on its feet and almost there, thanks to great carers, the activity staff and the new manager. The new manager is very approachable and hands-on, particularly now with the redecoration of premises and new furniture arriving. My mum is well looked after and happy in Kincaid. Also, great admin staff, and thanks also to the hairdresser who keeps the residents looking smart.
I cannot praise the staff and management at Kincaid House highly enough. Fortunately, I live close to the home and am able to visit Mum on a very regular basis, at all times it is clear to see the staff attending to their tasks in a very professional manner, constantly engaging with and attending to the needs of residents and fully appreciate what they do for all concerned.
My brother-in-law's care is nothing less than excellent at all times the staff of Kincaid House have been excellent and polite at all times. I've also been kept informed in all aspects of his care and medication. It's great to know he is so looked after and it is certainly a relief to his family.
The home is on 3 levels accessed via lift/stairs with views overlooking the Clyde (on a dry day). There is a secured garden. The layout of each floor is pretty much identical, more offices for the high heid yins on the ground floor. There is a large lounge in the central area, a double dining area on the east wing and a smaller quiet lounge that overlooks the front on the west wing. Dad is on Waverley, the rooms are practical, obviously depending on care needs. The home is clean and seems well maintained, they have a wee army of cleaners beavering away daily and a crew of repair people. The staff I find very friendly and attentive. The workforce seems pretty stable so they know the residents well. There is an activities team which takes residents out and there are planned activities. At the moment they are raising ducklings which will be housed in the garden. So those who are interested get to interact in various wee days out.
Good standard of care and attention given to Mum. Room always clean and tidy. Variety of food and activities, days out etc.
Excellent very thorough and thoughtful.
I can't praise all the staff enough for their care and dedication to ensure my mother-in-law, who has been a resident since during lockdown, is treated with respect and dignity at all times. They show so much concern and love to all their residents. The home itself is always a hub of activity and they keep their residents involved with all the activities both in the well-looked-after buildings, outbuildings and beautifully kept gardens, mum especially loves the days out for lunch, shows etc. It is a comfort to be confident that she is safe and loved when we are not there. The staff are always welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable I have and will in the future refer Kincaid House to everyone without hesitation.
Very happy with the care Mum receives on Waverly Unit in Kincaid. It was her Birthday this week and the staff were so lovely. The girls on duty came into her room which they had decorated with banners and balloons singing Happy Birthday and presented her with a gorgeous cake. It not only made Mum smile, but me also. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and everyone happy to help with anything you need . It is very comforting to know your relatives are in good hands and being well looked after.
Our mother recently became very unwell and had to go hospital as an emergency. A member of staff from Kincaid House accompanied Mum in the ambulance and stayed with her at the hospital. The genuine care and concern shown to Mum by this girl was outstanding. Another member of Kincaid staff was working at the hospital that week and she also showed the same genuine care and affection. It was very reassuring to us as a family to see this happening when Mum was so ill. Thankfully Mum became well enough to return to Kincaid House and the warm welcome she received from all of the staff was amazing. All genuinely happy to see her back in her familiar surroundings. Sincere thanks to all involved in Mum's care.
