View Full Details of Avonbridge Care HomeWe were initially apprehensive about my mum having to move into a care home after having a severe stroke. But we couldn’t have chosen a better place for her, all of the staff are wonderful and are so patient and caring with her despite her being unable to communicate. The nursing staff have been amazing and on top of things any time she has been unwell. It’s reassuring to know that she is well looked after, both physically and emotionally. A special thank you to all of the staff who helped make it possible for us to have a hen party for my sister-in-law in the home yesterday, to allow my mum to be involved in the run-up to the wedding. Especially one lady who went above and beyond to make sure that my mum and the whole family had a great day.
This is without a doubt the best care home I have ever experienced. The staff are genuine caring fun and professional. Happy environment for residents and family. Cannot rate high enough on every level.
Avonbridge is like home-from-home. The staff are lovely and attentive. My husband and the family have been made very welcome since day one, and we always get a cheery hello from all the staff always. Everyone is so positive, and the staff are for my hubby just as I would at home. My hubby is well cared for, well fed and well looked after by all the staff. We, as a family, love visiting the care home. Hubby is so happy and engaging since the first day her arrived. We can't thank the staff enough for all they do.
I could not have picked a better home for my sister who has been given a new lease of life since she entered the home in September 2022. It is a clean, comfortable, beautiful home in a heavenly location. The residents are treated like family by a team of qualified loving carers, nurses and other efficient supportive members of staff who attend to their individual needs with such a gentle, loving, dignified manner. Their health and well-being is monitored closely and therefore any problems are diagnosed immediately and action taken as required. Their everyday life is enhanced with daily exercises and enjoyable activities. They frequently hold parties with professional singers being brought in, visits from other organizations They also have the facility of a hairdresser, beauty therapist, chiropodist, dental hygienist etc. The residents and their bedrooms are kept spotlessly clean. Their meals are prepared fresh daily with a great variety and dietary choices. Congratulations Avonbridge Care Home.
My mother was 110 yesterday. All the staff involved ensured she had the most amazing day. Food, celebrations and entertainment were all really lovely. Since Mum has been in Avonbridge, since January 2023, her care has been wonderful The staff are just so very kind and attentive she has made such an improvement overall.
My Dad has just passed away after spending just over a year in Avonbridge Care Home. I can honestly say he loved this home. All the staff from the cooking staff, cleaners, handy man to the carers and nurses they all play a huge part in making this care home feel like a massive big family. In Dad's final week I spent five days by his bedside and I witness the care and love show by all the staff not just to Dad but to myself. The looked after and fed me as well. That last week would have been so much harder if the staff hadn’t been with me every step of the way. Through out it all Dad was treated with respect and dignity to the very end. Would I recommend this care home, yes 100%, it might not be big or flash as some homes but it’s a wonderful family environment for our loved ones when they need help the most in their final years. Thank you to all in the Avonbridge family.
My mum went into Avonbridge for a respite break last month, planning to stay for 2 weeks. She had not been in the best of health for a while and needed to rest. Within a fortnight of being in Avonbridge, my mum decided that she would like to stay, and a month on, she continually speaks highly of the Avonbridge and how well looked after she feels there, and how she sleeps better than she has for years. She is very appreciative of all the staff, whose hard work, patience, and friendliness have enabled my mum to feel comfortable and relaxed at all times and to overcome the challenges of gaining familiarity with a new environment. Particular plusses are the freshly cooked food, first-class laundry service, cheery lounge for socialising, and homely atmosphere which the manager and staff maintain. The team's dedication and kindness are really impressive. My mum is treated as an individual and she greatly enjoys her interactions with the staff and other residents. Thank you, Avonbridge.
I cannot fault the staff or home, very supportive of my mum's needs. Any time I have phoned nothing is too much bother always have time to answer any questions I have, have kept me up to date with my mum's health. Any time she has needed any other assistant such as a doctor this is actioned in a quick and timely manner.
I have been visiting for 3 years now, and I have found the management and care staff very welcoming and friendly. Care and support is given at all times and as a family member I am happy with this, we are always made aware of all forthcoming social events. My mum is settled and happy within her surroundings.
Avonbridge has been a great choice of care home for my mum. Staff are welcoming, caring, and respectful. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff especially during Covid when they kept us updated and offered alternative ways to see mum via video calls etc. Mum has been able to take part in a wide variety of activities, movie days, bingo, keep fit, walking group, and when possible, entertainment, nursery visits etc. We can't thank the staff enough for caring for Mum. Well done everyone.
I think the staff and management are excellent, always willing to help and look after my friend. It may not be a big fancy home, but care but facilities and are excellent. Always enjoy my visits down at the home.
My dad has been a resident in Avonbridge for a while now. I and my sisters are delighted with the care he receives here. Dad has dementia, which was not always easy to manage and like any other changes in his life they had to be overcome. What can I say other than the dedication and hard work the staff put into making Dads transition into Avonbridge, made this journey easier for Dad and us as a family. During this pandemic, they will have faced many challenges. The staff keep me informed on all aspects of dads health and well being, and I receive current updated information regarding covid-19. As a family, we had a few years of heartbreak and trauma due to mum and dads health. I can honestly say that 1st-week Dad went to Avonbridge, I was able to sleep, as I knew he was so cared for. My dad had a recent visit to the hospital, and all he wanted was to go home (to Avonbridge), this meant so much to us as it confirmed he felt safe and happy there. I can't commend Avonbridge and staff any higher.
The staff at the care home are all absolutely amazing, my mum is so well looked after, not just her personal care, but her mental health. All the staff make sure she has everything she needs, and they all go above and beyond what is required. I love the events they organise the staff really go for it and decorate the home and all dress up. Even during lockdown they've kept all the residents happy and safe and accommodated the family as best they can and kept us all updated with messages and photos. This isn't just a care home it's a family.
Avonbridge care home has been the residents for my 100-year-old grandmother for the last two and a half years. In this time they have gone way beyond that of a care home in the care they have given to my gran not only her but all of the residents they take care off. Over the past few months with the Coronavirus and not being able to see our loved one the staff have kept us well informed of what's going on in the home as well as sending us pictures and videos of our loved ones. The activities, sing songs, games and artwork that all the residents have been doing is just amazing. Well done to all the staff and management. You truly are all fantastic.
Very happy with the care my mother receives. Staff are wonderful from the carers to the housekeeping staff. All staff work really hard to make the care home as 'homely' as possible. I would highly recommend.
My husband has been a resident in Avonbridge Care home for 18 months, his care is excellent. He is treated with dignity and respect by nurses, carers and all members of staff. Relatives and friends are made to feel welcome. The manager has an excellent team who all work together to make Avonbridge a home.
We hae been visiting relatives in this home since 2001. There has been a number of owners and managers during that period. Currently the management team are good. The staff, in the main, have been there for a long time and so there is a high level of consistency in relationships. The staff and their level of care is what makes this a good care facility.
My husband has now been in Avonbridge Care Home for 7 months. He is being very well cared for by the staff. I have had issues with clothes going missing despite having snap-tags on. Some eventually turned up but others have not. The home has been radically upgraded since he has gone into it. Decoration, carpets, chairs have been upgraded and all of the windows have been replaced. The garden area has been well used this summer. Several outings, church services, parties and visits from the 'Therapets' have been enjoyed too.
Nice small nursing home which sits on the bank of the river Avon. One large sitting room and one smaller one where all the residents are during the day. The residents are treated really well by the carers and nurses who work very hard. Very friendly home and my mother seems to be really settled here.
We are, overall, happy with the care provided to our mum and would be delighted to recommend the facility to others. Staff are helpful, friendly and considerate of residents needs and wishes.
