View Full Details of Beechgrove Care HomeMy lovely sister-in-law has now been at Beechgrove for just over a year. I live some distance away but was able to visit her last week - and I remain blown away by how amazing the care is. Absolutely everyone I met was friendly - indeed the whole atmosphere is friendly and supportive. When I arrived one day, my sister-in-law was walking from one wing to her usual wing - it's amazing how well she gets around the care home, welcome in any of the wings and known to everyone. When I arrived another day, there was a chair exercise class in full swing, with humour and encouragement from the staff member heading it up. We visited her room together to look at some pictures and her room was absolutely immaculate and yet homely. It is incredibly re-assuring to see how well she is cared for - and thank you too for caring for my brother as a regular visitor - thank you to everyone at the truly incredible place that is Beechgrove.
My aunt has had such a hard time due to a few recent hospital stays. We, as a family, couldn't believe our luck in being offered a residential place at Beechgrove Care Home. Now she has the 24 hour care she needs, it's such a relief. But as well as this, Beechgrove have a fantastic activities programme. I also extend sincere thanks to staff in all departments, making my aunt's stay so pleasurable, and for making us all so welcome.
It's challenging when when it's time to put a loved one into long-term care but from day one on a tour of the facility to agreeing, it was the right thing, then moving in, I cannot fault the caring staff that look after my mum. The management, admin, carers, catering, cleaning, laundry, nurses, activities all make her so welcome and make me feel reassured she is being incredibly well looked after and genuinely cared for. Thank you team Beechgrove.
The standard of care for my wife is outstanding - all the staff are friendly and caring, the facilities are excellent and the activities are great. The main thing though is the staff who are all fantastic. Walking along the corridor recently with my wife, who has dementia, everyone we passed had a cheery 'hello' for us - and my wife said 'I feel like the queen - everybody knows me'. What a great thing that when she is forgetting everything she is made to feel special. That means so much to me, to the rest of the family and to her friends - all of who feel welcome and rate Beechgrove Care Home as fantastic.
My father-in-law has been in Beechgrove Care Home for over two years and the standard of care and support has been superb throughout the entire stay. The staff are excellent, they provide all the required services but also with a lot of care and consideration of each individual's needs. We are also made very welcome and asked to treat the facility as if it were our dad's home. The quality and choice of food are very good, the cleanliness excellent and the whole facility is in the process of being upgraded. There has been a change in management over the last few months but it is good to see that they have changed very little (don't fix it if it isn't broken).
Activities coordinators are doing a great job with wide range of activities planned. Big thanks to the cook (you know who you are) for encouraging my mum to bake. New manager is very approachable and committed.
I think this nursing home is excellent in every way! All the staff are very nice and considerate to the residents and their families and visitors. From the care staff, cooks and kitchen staff, cleaners and office workers, all of them are so caring to the residents. When my partner was there near end-of-life, they just look after you like you are family, ensuring you have something to eat and tea and coffees and wee chats, comforting the family at their hardest and saddest times! My partner loved it there, his chats with the activities, being able to move around and chat to other residents but most of all, the meals all homemade, of course, he says the rice pudding is the best he's ever tasted in his life. I can't thank the staff enough for making his stay at his all-inclusive hotel (that's what he called it) so enjoyable and safe. Thank you again!
My mother was in Beechgrove Care Home for six years. She passed away the end of July, the care received over the last few weeks was excellent. The staff were so caring and thoughtful to Mum and the family members that attended over the last few weeks. Over the years, since Mum was a resident, every effort was made to engage her with activities organised in the common lounge and cinema room. Special occasions, like birthdays, music sing and dancing, were organised with all residents joining in. Mum's 100th birthday party was a great day with a good number of the family in attendance and the lounge decorated with the card from the King displayed for all to see.
Brilliant people that are absolutely dedicated to providing the very best possible experience for the residents. Special mention to the manager and the administrator who are amazing. Everyone is helpful and kind, giving visitors the support required to make visits a pleasure rather than a chore. Shout out to the kitchen staff who always help with any catering requirements asked for
The staff go out of their way to encourage my husband to join in the various activities that the home puts on for residents. When I visit, he is much more alert than when he was still at home. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
My husband has been in Beechgrove Care Home for over a year. All the staff are very pleasant. The food is excellent. The residents are allowed to walk up and down the corridors not stuck in their rooms all day or sitting in a chair in in front of the television. Rooms are kept clean and aired, I am satisfied with the care my husband is receiving.
Really nice and caring staff. My father is well looked after in every way. This takes the stress and the strain off me and my sister. Food is very tasty and the kitchen staff will meet the resident's needs. Rooms are cleaned every day and to a high standard. Carers are very kind and considerate and often go above and beyond to help the residents. The management team are very approachable and will help you as much as they can. The nurses are wonderful with my father and can usually spot anything untoward. All in all a very good care home with a very friendly atmosphere.
I really can't fault this facility. From the management team to the front-line staff, everyone is so dedicated and professional. Currently, Mum is receiving hospital at home care within the care home and nursing staff keep me updated when I'm unable to attend.
My father has been a resident of Beechgrove for nearly 3 years. In January 2024 he passed away. During the few days between becoming really ill and passing the staff went well beyond with their care and dedication not only to Dad but myself during a very difficult time. In the time he has been a resident, he has been well cared for and loved by all the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. In fact, I will miss the staff now I no longer need to visit. They were such a support. I would highly recommend Beechgrove Care Home to anyone.
Brilliant facility. Staff are really good with the residents and always show a compassionate and caring spirit with all the residents. The manager and administrator are the heartbeat of the care home. Their standards and behaviours disseminate throughout the large team and you can see the positive influence they have on everyone. A real credit to this business. Lots going on every day and if you want to get involved you can have a full and rewarding day.
Sadly on the 15th November Mum passed away. The care and attention given to her by all the staff was unbelievable it really was first class. When we went back to the home the next day the room had been totally cleaned and was laid out with things that were important to Mum. Please pass on our thanks to all of your team they are simply the best.
The whole of the team gave my mum excellent care, from cleaning staff to nurses, and gave her the best care until her dying breath.
I have found the Beechgrove Care Home to have a warm and comforting atmosphere with friendly, professional and resident-focused staff at all levels. My sister regularly confirms to me that she feels safe, secure and respected.
I have always found the office staff and nursing care staff very welcoming, helpful and approachable. My cousin has been a resident for two and a half years, and her needs are well attended. I am kept informed about any change in her condition at all times. The residents have a wide range of activities, outings, entertainment and crafts to take part in, always something organised for them if they wish to participate.
I visit Beechgrove Care Home to see my dad regularly. I'm often so surprised by the innovative activities arranged by the senior care home staff for the residents, families and staff members. Last Friday 25 August was a Wellness day. There were games to put a smile on your face and a bouncy castle. I had a quick go with my 76-year-old mother and we were giggling at getting to do what we last did as children. It put a spring in our step and made us bright and cheerful for our visit with my dad who suffers from dementia. I have a lot to say in recommendation of how the staff look after the residents but in this particular review, I'm highlighting what they do for the carers - their staff and the families with a resident in the home.
