View Full Details of Glennie House Care HomeMum was only in the care home for a few months before passing away. All of the staff are excellent and kept us advised of Mum's condition on an ongoing basis. The nurses were very professional and showed a lot of empathy at a very difficult time and made our family feel at ease.
Since September 2024 our mother has been cared for at Glennie House Care Home. The staff are very friendly and make a huge effort to ensure our mother is healthy and happy. We are very grateful for the care and treatment that she has received during her stay. Excellent facilities and excellent staff.
My dad had the best care at Glennie House. Every member of staff showed him care, compassion, and love and nothing was ever too much trouble. The dignity that my dad was given when he passed was so kind. The care that all my dad's family was given will never be forgotten. I will always be grateful to everyone at Glennie for making my dad happy.
My dad spent two weeks at Glennie House for respite care. As a family, we had no idea how to approach or organise anything concerning care homes but the staff at Glennie House were just so helpful and friendly. My dad's stay was comfortable and he enjoyed the company of the staff and the food! The respite care provided the 24-hour care that Dad needed at that time. Nothing is too much trouble at Glennie House and the minute we walked through the door we felt welcome and relaxed. A very positive experience. Thank you.
My father was here for five months, after being discharged from hospital his care was good and the staff are professional and caring. The management is approachable and interested. We only moved him as a place became available nearer to home.
This is the happiest I have seen my mum since my dad passed.
My partner has been with you for the last few months, his health has deteriorated and staff are very caring and accommodating to both of us. Staff are patient and friendly. The home is clean and orderly which gives me peace of mind, knowing that he is being looked after.
There wouldn't be enough space here to write everything I would want to tell you about Glennie House in Auchinleck. It was such a hard process having to put my mum into care but there came a point when it was just not possible for her to remain at home. The manager and all her staff tried so hard to make this easier for us. Mum sadly passed in June after a 4-day period where she was at end of life. Myself and other family members stayed round the clock until the end. The care and love that we all felt at that point from everyone in Glennie was just unbelievable. Looking after us as well as my mum in such a compassionate way. Sitting beside my mum in the early hours of the morning listening to the staff dealing with residents in such a patient and caring way was so humbling as you never fully appreciate the difficult job these amazing people do. It was then I realised that Glennie House was my mum's home not just a care home and that we had been so lucky for that to be the case.
My brother is in Glennie and I can't praise staff and management for the excellent care he has received since he has moved into Glennie, spotless clean great food entertainment and overall I'm happy he's in such a clean caring place can't praise this place enough.
In our experience staff try to deliver a good quality care service and are approachable. The room standard and overall cleanliness of the home is of a good standard. However, staffing, particularly qualified nursing staffing, appears stretched almost all of the time. We had to raise issues with hand and oral hygiene on repeated occasions and when our mother was discharged from hospital following a fall in the home, and still incredibly vulnerable, staff were wholly unprepared to care for her level of need. Care plans were not updated. This created serious concern and trust issues for us. Despite good intentions, unit management is weak in our opinion and detached from the reality of the care on the ground. All of the points in this review were formally raised with unit management and therefore a matter of record.
I have been very pleased with the quality of personal care and support received by my mother while she was a resident in Glennie House. Too often nursing and care staff lack compassion and empathy, but in GH the staff seemed to really love my mother. They were warm and kind towards her and took a real interest and concern for her comfort, care and wellbeing. They were professional but displayed a gentleness and love towards her.
Mum is very happy at Glennie House. As a family, we are extremely satisfied with all aspects of care. The atmosphere in the home is one of happiness and welcoming. The manager and staff go the extra mile to make sure each resident feels at home and treat the Glennie House as their own.
My mum has settled into Glennie House. The kind and caring staff have been wonderful. The most amazing thing about this place is the programme of activities and outings that brings such a happy atmosphere to the place. It's great that loved ones can join in too. The quality of life for my mum, provided at Glennie House is excellent. A friendly and welcoming care home. Excellent management and so reassuring to see my dear mum enjoy her life.
The staff are the greatest asset of Glennie House. It is an extremely welcoming place and the staff go about their duties with a smile and often with a song, it obviously gets passed on/down from the management. They provide an excellent and varied range of activities each week. We had Christmas dinner with Mum which was a lovely caring touch.
Anything my husband needs is attended to straight away, he is completely different from when he was in hospital. He is encouraged to take part in the activities and enjoys his paper in the morning. My husband appreciates what all the staff do for him and his family appreciates it too—our very sincere thanks.
Very happy with the care that my dad gets, there is nothing that we can complain about.
The staff made us feel so welcome. My brother is happy here.
I am very pleased with the care and consideration given to my sister in her new environment. She has been made to feel welcome and I feel she is now very safe and also very happy. The staff are so good to her.
When visiting my friend, we were greeted with a cheery smile from the staff. We sat in the cafe area and the manager heard us talking about songs as my friend is a lovely singer. The manager then proceeded to ask us what songs we would like played and we sang along. It was a very pleasurable experience. We were also made coffee and hot chocolate - a treat!
The staff are caring and work hard. They seem genuine in their affection for my mum. Communication hasn't always been good. My mum's hand hygiene has been raised a few times, particularly her nails and the length of the nails on her contracted hand. A lot better since the hairdresser has been allowed in. Staff go above and beyond to have a laugh with my mum and stepdad which helps. A difficult time for everyone.
