Very nice care home staff are excellent and very caring they're looking after my dad till he can come home and I can't fault them my dad enjoys the food and his room is clean and nicely decorated and furnished 10/10
When a loved one is no longer able to live at home and it's apparent they need to live in a dedicated caring environment where their health and well-being is prioritised, it's an extraordinarily difficult decision for all involved. Fortunately, we were introduced to the team at Brookfield who have looked after and continue to care for our much loved Mum (and Gran) treating her with dignity, respect, love and compassion. The staff work tirelessly to meet Mum's needs - which can at times be quite challenging - responding to every request as and when required. After years of living alone, worrying about her safety and well-being, it's such a relief to know she is safe, secure & being so well cared for. We would like to thank the entire team at Brookfield. Words alone cannot express our gratitude.
All the staff have been great with my mum as she can be stubborn and didn't want to come out of her room but they have been great at persuading her to come down to the lounge etc. She has put on weight which is fab as she was very under when she went in, so thank you to the chef as well for accommodating her fussy eating. Keep up all your good work, it's really appreciated.
Forever grateful to the amazing staff at Brookfield who go above and beyond to care for their residents. Coming to terms with my granny needing to be in a care home was extremely challenging, and the staff didn’t only care for her, they helped my whole family through what they understood was a very difficult time for us. They are unsung heroes. Thank you.
My grandad came into Balhousie Brookfield at the end of May due to a cognitive and physical decline. All care staff treated him with so much respect and dignity throughout his stay. My Grandad sadly passed away on the 11/09/23, and in his final week, staff went above and beyond to ensure his comfort and dignity was respected. With staff even coming in on their days off to spend time with him. Throughout my grandad's stay I had nothing but positive things to say about the care staff. A massive thank you to everyone for making my grandad's last couple of months full of happy memories.
Thank you all staff, not only are they caring to the residents but they also understand the effect of splitting a couple of sixty-four years together has on others. My wife was taken into the care of staff at Brookfield in early June, she suffers from dementia, I tried to continue looking after her but progression was such that full-time care was required.
My husband passed away on 11/02/23 and was a resident since September 2021. He was always content and I always had confidence that he was well cared for.
The team at Balhousie have been great in making my mum's life healthier and fuller. The turnaround since December has probably been life-saving for Mum. The team have handled the challenges Mum had adapting to the change very well and she is now getting the best care for her.
Dad lived at Balhousie Brookfield from September 2021 until his recent passing in February 2023. It was a daunting and overwhelming time for our family, but with the wonderful care and attention that Dad (and the family) received from all staff at Brookfield, we soon realised that Brookfield was just the perfect homely environment that Dad could have the 24/7 care he needed. Dad settled in very quickly and as a family, we could see how happy Dad was. He was always smiling and loved the activities, especially the singalongs. The food always looked fab too. The family were always made welcome at Brookfield. Our Dad was happy and content at Brookfield and treated with the utmost dignity and understanding.
The staff are great with my mum. She has been a resident there for almost 3 years. The staff have got used to her likes and dislikes. I am confident that the staff do their best in caring for her. I am always welcome when I frequently go to visit mum.
Very happy to recommend Balhousie Brookfield. Mum was unsure at first about moving into a care home but she is very happy there, much happier than she was before. She loves the staff and is very much at home now. It's great that they post photos and videos on their social media page so relatives living far away can see what fun they're getting up to.
So pleased to have found Brookfield for our mum because it is a relatively small home, it's more like one big happy family. Staff are very capable, caring and friendly. We feel very reassured that Mum is being looked after and doesn't have to worry anymore. There's always something going on, singalongs, boardgames, craft workshops. No way can the residents be bored. Mum being diabetic is appropriately cared for too. Cannot fault the staff in any way. The food is excellent. The home is kept very clean and the beautiful gardens are well-maintained. Thank you to all at Brookfield, another great part of Brookfield is dogs are allowed in, so Mum can still see our doggies.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Brookfield for around 14 months and cannot thank the staff enough for all their support to every family member. My mother-in-law is so happy and contented in the home, enjoys all the activities which are very varied, and will gladly go on arranged trips and take part in all the singing and dancing that makes her smile. As her Dementia progresses we find it so difficult to deal with and the staff at Brookfield have been and continue to be such a huge support. Thank you everyone for all your hard work.
Mum moved into Brookfield when she was no longer able to manage safely at home. Since moving into Brookfield she has been looked after by all the excellent staff and this has meant a great improvement and stability in her health and well-being. Being in the company of others, joining in the organised activities and being cared for by wonderful staff have given Mum a feeling of contentment and satisfaction. Many thanks to all Brookfield staff.
My dad moved in approximately June 2022. It's lovely to see him singing and joining in with all activities. All the staff are very caring helpful and kind, also very funny. So glad dad got such a lovely care home. Thank you all.
I have the app and something is going on all the time. Residents are always cheery and happy as are the staff, cannot rate them highly enough. The care home is always clean as are the residents and no traces of smells which is excellent.
My husband has been in Brookfield, Carnoustie for 4 months and he is very happy there. He is very well cared for and has improved since being there. I am also very happy with how the staff are with him. I would recommend the home to anyone.
Dad has improved so much since being in Brookfields. We were concerned because we thought we were giving in, but it has been the best thing we could have done for him. He has been so sad and lonely since losing mum 2 years ago, but now he is happy and so well cared for, we cannot thank the staff at Brookfields enough for the wonderful way they care for him.
Dad has greatly improved since he has had his time in Brookfields, he is as happy as he was before mum passed, and he has made new friends, something he would not do and could not do when he was at home. The staff at Brookfields are great, they are thoughtful and caring and dad gives them a laugh most every day, again something he was unable to do at home on his own. He is no longer 'lost', has good companionship and enjoys his food, he tries to be first down for his meals and is now happy to leave his room and join with others in the dining room. So dad is very happy and Brookfields is the best place he could be for all-round well-being. So thank you Brookfields and staff.
My mum was a little apprehensive at the thought of going into a care home, as were my sisters and I, but the staff here are fantastic, they have made the transition so much easier. She now loves them and she loves her new home. Cannot speak highly enough of the team that works there and all that they do for all the residents.
