View Full Details of Lochleven Care HomeThe staff of Lochleven Care Home are very professional but still managing to keep a very friendly attitude with residents and families. I have been very impressed that within a short period of time my brother has adapted to his new way of life and became part of a friendly Unit taking in activities. Other care homes from my home town show very sedate photos of their residents whereas Lochleven staff engage with residents bringing out a new chapter of their life and managing to promote joy and interaction.
Excellent Care Home fantastic staff that gave amazing care to my mother for a great number of years. In her last days, the staff made sure that we were cared for while sitting sometimes all night next to my Mum. So nice to see my Mum still having her nail polish on and her lipstick close by. Everyday clean clothes. Our family is so grateful for everything you did for Mum.
Most of my concerns are dealt with at the time or are passed up the line to deal with. There's Staff available at the time of visiting are always friendly and helpful. There's the odd occasion where someone would say they'll log my concern and someone will get back to me then it doesn't happen, and when I revisit nobody knows anything about it. It seems to be if I speak to the right person it will be dealt with properly. It's great to see on social media all the activities that go on in the home.
My friend took up permanent residency in the top nursing unit at Lochleven, she receives nothing but the best care and nothing is ever too much for anyone. We are all made to feel like we are part of a big family which I find comforting, any time we have visited there is nothing but happy smiling faces and it is always clean and tidy. There are always activities going on and they really do go above and beyond for everyone to make sure they are looked after. I would definitely be recommending Lochleven. The staff there deserve a medal for what they do there.
All the staff at the home have been great with the family and always able to accommodate to anything we need. They look after my grandad extremely well and the staff are just amazing. We don't have anything negative to say about the facilities or the staff and would 100% recommend it to any family who are looking to find a home.
My great-great auntie was in Lochleven for a short time and received the best care we could have hoped for. The staff treated her with love and respect and as if she was part of their family. The staff were quick to resolve any problems that we had and we felt that we could easily come and talk to the management team. Thank you!
In the last few months, some changes have been made for the good. More staff and more activities. Grooming has improved. Management always ready to listen. Overall very happy with my husband's care. Lovely staff, who work really hard and need a thank you.
As a new service users relative, there were a few hiccups when residency commenced. These have now been resolved by unit staff. With the care and attention my husband is getting he has come on leaps and bounds. You, as a care home, are giving him so much more care than I was able to do at home. He has settled in so well and is able to partake in particular hobbies and interests he has. I can't praise the staff in the unit and the activities coordinators highly enough for enabling him to partake in these hobbies and activities. Thank you all so much.
Since moving into the home, my mother has had a new lease of life. The family is happy that she is well cared for and is enjoying life in the home. The staff are excellent, professional and caring, and there is a happy atmosphere in the home. In fact, after her first week in the home, my mother said "I've laughed more in the past week than I did in the previous two years".
Over the years I've visited a few care homes but if could say for sure that Lochleven is by far miles ahead as far as care standards go. The well-being of my gran is second to none she absolutely loves it here and is always treated with the utmost dignity and respect.
Utterly abysmal care home. The lack of staff enthusiasm and care is appalling. On the latest visit, there was a resident who became violent to another resident and myself. I found it extremely worrying when staff did not respond to the resident's emergency alarm and laughed off the behaviour when told. The staff made no effort to acknowledge the visitor's presence and I was laughed off by a member of staff when I complained that the resident I was visiting had 1 sock in her entire room. Organisation and management are unsatisfactory and I believe it is an accident waiting to happen.
The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful with my mother throughout her 10-month stay at the Care Home. They always made an effort to comfort her as her health deteriorated. The nursing staff in particular were very supportive. The Care Home is in an easily accessible area and has adequate areas for Communal eating and relaxing.
The staff were compassionate and caring towards my relative at all times , nothing was toomuch trouble and management dealt with any concerns I may have had swiftly. I couldn't recommend this care home enough.
Very professional and caring environment. All members of staff I have encountered over the years have been very courteous, treating the residents with care and dignity.
So grateful to the whole staff team for all they have done and continue to do to support and care for my dad. I really appreciate the warmth, patience, kindness and loving care shown to him and the family. Carers work so hard and with such compassion to adapt his care to his changing and often challenging needs and to maintain his dignity. The team have worked tirelessly through such difficult times and continue to strive to improve the care offered to residents and recover from the impact of Covid. I really appreciate the way all members of the team, whatever their role within the home, take the time to engage with residents as they go about all their various tasks. I am reassured that whenever there are concerns with my dad they are communicated and dealt with promptly and effectively.
My dad has been in Lochleven for a year and a half now. We have always been happy with the care he receives. The staff are always helpful and address any issues as quickly as they can. Dad has dementia and he seems content in his world. There will never be a perfect one, but we are happy with the care he receives.
I find the staff friendly to me though some are disengaged from the residents. Mostly care seems good, though more care could be taken to ensure residents have their own clothes. Until recently the unit has smelled fresh but over the last few weeks, the smell of urine has been prevalent on entry and throughout. My husband missed his covid booster because I had not been asked to complete the form(I live only 5 minutes away).
Home needs freshening up. Many staff changes over the year. Handled the Covid testing very well. Kept up to date with all changes regarding Covid restrictions and updates. Overall, have no complaints. Maintanicae sorted out any problems regarding furniture, runners and brackets. All staff do excellent work.
My mum was in Katrine Nursing Wing for a year and a half. Every staff member I dealt with was so caring towards her. The main point I liked was the continuity of staff that attended to her which she needed to feel safe, I cannot thank everyone enough for the support she received and I would definitely recommend Lochleven Care Home to others.
On our initial visit to the home my daughter and I were very impressed with the positive welcome we received. We were given a tour of the home and in all the 'wing's the friendliness of the staff was very apparent, questions were asked and encouraged. We were shown two rooms which were available there was no difficulty in choosing the room we wanted. The transfer from another home to Lock Leven went smoothly. My wife was received on 27th May and is still there to date. I am very pleased with the care and attention she is receiving. She is treated as an adult and is carrying out conversations with the staff. They encourage her to walk with a Zimmer and I can see a slight improvement in her walking. She enjoys her visit to the hairdresser and I have been encouraged to take her for a car run next week. The staff ask her needs and try to encourage her to participate in activities. The room is clean and her laundry is attended to.
