View Full Details of Pitkerro Care CentreMy experience with Pitkerro has been okay, what I will say is the staff are very good, both at dealing with difficult care situations and with any issues I've encountered - they usually deal with it as soon as they can. The manager there is easy to chat with and will work with you to make any adjustments you need done for loved one's. As someone who's never experienced a care home before my overall experience has been quite challenging and I've found that aspect really emotional and difficult, but with a few adjustments from management and staff I am as happy as I can be for my mother to live out the rest of her time there. Possibly the only thing I'd say is more support for relatives is something they should look at but I certainly would recommend Pitkerro.
I have no hesitation in recommending Pitkerro Care Centre to anyone. They are all very friendly and attentive to all resident's needs. 10 out of 10.
My mum has been in Pitkerro for nearly 18 months, as a family, our experience has been very positive. There have been times when my mum has been unsettled, the team worked alongside the community health professionals to address these issues ensuring that the family's opinion was taken into account. My mum is treated with compassion, warmth and kindness, staff ensure that her dignity is maintained. All the staff take time to interact with residents and visitors. They are enthusiastic, providing a great range of activities, experiences and activities. As a family, we appreciate the Manager and the management team's open-door policy. Issues that we have raised have been dealt with promptly. The environment is spotlessly clean, I have never experienced any unpleasant odours. My mum's laundry is done by the home, there have been no issues. The food and cakes look delicious. My mum is very settled, which is a great comfort to the family. I would highly recommend Pitkerro.
I cannot fault the service provided by the Pitkerro team. The home is always spotless, the staff are excellent, providing a good level of care for everyone. All the staff are approachable.
My husband has been in this excellent facility for just over 2 weeks now, the 12 homes we visited before were not for him, but when we walked into Pitkerro we just started smiling. All the residents were smiling, and as staff passed by, be they domestics, care assistants, or nurses they all spoke and smiled at any resident they met. The building was spotlessly clean and we felt very hopeful. We met with the Manager and the Deputy Manager. They were very professional but also very warm and so very approachable. Their enthusiasm when they talked about their residents and the standard of care they expected from their staff was so reassuring. My lovely husband was allocated a room and he has settled so well. The staff are amazing and treat him with gentleness and respect. I would love to mention all the staff by name but my special thanks go to the manager, deputy manager, and Senior Nurses, I can never thank you enough for your warmth and kindness.
I was placed in a very difficult position in January this year having to place my mum into care, as with most people I was in turmoil as to whether I had made the correct decision and whether this was the best care home for my mum to go into. I visit the care home two to three times a week and watch the social media page eagerly to get some sense of happiness. I am comforted to be able to say what a great care home it is, how friendly the staff are from the nurses to the carers all doing amazing jobs with this extending to the management staff which I also give a huge thanks to. Not only do they care for my mum within the care home by putting on lots of events from discos to gardening, Valentine's Day functions and Chinese celebrations but they also treat her with huge respect. This also extends to day trips to visit other care homes and cultural excursions. Due to their hard work, I've been able to see a great sense of happiness and content in my mum feeling very safe relaxed and at ease now.
Our first experience was very welcoming from every member of the staff and professional. The staff asked questions regarding things my mum enjoyed doing, and her likes and dislikes. She was made to feel very comfortable and safe above everything. We feel as a family Mum has been treated with dignity and respect enabling her to keep her independence. Since the 8th of February, my mum's well-being has improved in a very positive way. Staff from all areas of the home are fantastic.
My friend is a resident in the care home. It is such a pleasure to come and visit her there, she is so happy, she is always busy. There is never a dull moment in the care home, she is either playing games with other residents or staff, some different activities and entertainment and she even learns some new dance moves. It's amazing to see how staff always try to include everyone. Staff are easy to talk to, genuine and caring. If the only way is a care home, then it should be Pitkerro Care Centre!
My sister-in-law is a fairly new resident to Pitkerro and I see a massive change in her personality. She is very content and happy and I know she feels at home at Pitkerro. My sister-in-law is treated with respect and her care is very patient-centred. Staff are genuinely caring and very thoughtful and always go that extra mile to help relatives too and they are always cheerful. I feel very relaxed now and I don't have to worry about my sister-in-law at all. Thank goodness I found Pitkerro and it was actually recommended to me and they have loads of activities too and the home is very clean. All round a perfect care home for my sister-in-law. I am very grateful to management and all the staff at Pitkerro.
My friend's family and I were very reluctant to accept a place for my friend in the care home as we really didn’t think she would settle very well. How wrong we were! She is very happy and confident in her surroundings, has made friends and is happy to get involved with activities that are on offer which with help from the caregiver keep her motivated. She has also been busy helping decorate the Christmas tree and is soon to be joining in the Xmas jumper day.
This is an excellent care home. Staff are great always very helpful and caring. The food and cakes look delicious. The environment is well cared for and spotlessly clean. Rooms are spacious. I would recommend this care home.
My father had his 90th birthday on the 15/10/23. The staff couldn't do enough. Other residents were also involved. The staff interacted with other residents to involve them at the party. My father was singing which I hadn't seen for some time and he was very happy. The staff made it very enjoyable and lively and I can't thank them enough. I was very happy and emotional as my father was so happy and contented. I couldn't ask for a better placement for my father.
I came into this care home on the 11th of September 2023. I really like this very good care home. It is very good in Pitkerro, so very good in their care and attention. I keep busy with knitting and crochet, I love it very much.
Staff are great, they are so kind.
Our dad was in respite care in Pitkerro for two weeks to give my sister especially and myself a break. This review will sound biased as my sister used to work in this home but the staff I was involved with while visiting my dad were great with him and took the time and care with him he deserves. Any questions or issues we had put our minds at ease and if we needed care for our dad, Pitkerro would be our choice. Our dad has dementia and Alzheimer's and has been declining past 3 years, so sad to watch. The time he spent there was the best we could have hoped for so thank you to all the staff who cared for him.
Staff are kind to me if I ask for anything, the staff are very good and help me.
Staff and carers 10/10. Help to spend time in the garden. Overall very good.
My experience with Pitkerro has been nothing but positive. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the facilities are always clean. My mum is very well cared for and happy which is lovely to see.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Pitkerro since the end of June. During her time there I have been impressed with the care and dedication of the staff. The staff have gone above and beyond to make the transitional period a comfortable and pleasant experience. The communication has been excellent, and I am more than happy to see my mother-in-law, happy, settled and interacting with people.
Staff are welcoming, courteous and friendly. I am always made to feel welcome within the home. The residents are treated with kindness and respect from the staff. The management team are very approachable and friendly. The rooms are always clean tidy with a fresh smell.
