View Full Details of Towell House Residential HomeThe staff are outstanding. They are patient and friendly. Very helpful. They address the residents by name. This was my first visit and I was impressed. The activities are also great and proactive. Beautiful gardens and setting.
Mum has only been resident in Towell House for approximately 6 weeks but in that time appears to have settled in really well. The home is clean, warm and welcoming. Mum enjoys the food and the company. Everyone is kind and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. The activities are many and varied and while mum may not partake in them all she seems to enjoy watching and can always go to her room if it's too much for her. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your care. As it is early days there is so much we have yet to learn but so far, very impressive.
My mother was accepted to the care home in May. Staff were friendly and understanding. We were confident our loved one is well cared for. Residents are encouraged to join in the several activities that are offered each day.
Mum went into Towell House after several falls at home and after a hospital admission. Mum had obvious reservations about going into a home after being so independent for so long but credit to her, she threw herself into everything and boy did it pay off. Mum loves it, loves the company, loves the activities and everything The carers are exceptional both in their care and in keeping family informed. The activity coordinators are fantastic in coming up with different things for all to do. The place is spotlessly clean and I would recommend it to anyone.
This care home is absolutely fabulous, I just cannot praise it highly enough, although my chosen month was October, I'm relating to all other months. The activities put on by the staff are amazing, my relative absolutely loves living there and she has her mind and body kept in excellent condition. I have seen many care homes that do not come anywhere near the standards of care and activities supplied by Towell House. To all the staff and anyone providing an excellent home, we cannot thank you enough. Thank you.
Mum moved in in June 2024. After an apprehensive first couple of days, she very quickly settled in mainly due to the kind reception she received from all the staff. It was her first experience of assisted living and to our surprise, she has taken to it like a duck to water. She loves the routine every single day as she says she knows exactly what is happening. The social events are her favourite thing from knit and natter to ball games to the singers who come, she loves them all and joins in with everything that is happening. When she was at home she wanted us her family to be with her 24/7, now it makes us laugh because she tells us not to visit because a social event is on. I would like to personally thank all staff for the care and kindness they show daily.
My brother has been a resident of Towell House for the past 5/6 weeks now and in this time he has not stopped praising the staff and management for their hard work and patience. He has always been a very positive person in my eyes and always loves a good wind-up, especially on the staff who always give as good as they get. I always look forward to seeing him in this warm, friendly and very obliging residency and I can always sleep peacefully in my bed at night knowing my brother is in safe hands. I most certainly would recommend Towell House to anyone who has a loved one or friend who is in need of that special touch of care. Thank you all so much for looking after my big brother.
I wrote a glowing report about Towell House in 2018. Today for the first time we were informed that a parent’s notice to leave started 4 days ago and his personal items had to be removed today. The management team has not communicated with us in writing or in person and has shown no compassion towards my parent and the family at this stressful time. Care staff continue to provide a good service, and the home, grounds and activities remain excellent. However, management communication with families is non-existent. The managers appear inexperienced and leadership currently appears to be absent.
My grandad absolutely loved Towell House, he passed peacefully last Monday. We as a family can't thank the staff enough. We will always be thankful for the help he got from the moment he stepped in the door until he passed. He never had a bad word to say about his time in Towell House. He had a good relationship with all staff members (maybe more than some) but he settled in well and got on with everyone as he had a heart of gold. I know Towell House has lost a good man but he will never leave those who helped him and cared for him. Again, thank you and God Bless.
My parents came to Towell House a few years ago and have been treated with dignity and respect since Day 1. The staff and management have one focus - the care and well being of the residents. The staff's dedication really came to life during COVID, at times making some difficult and unpopular decisions but always with the best intentions. We often commented that Mum and Dad had more of a social life than us with all the fun activities and the hilarious antics of the staff during super difficult times.
My Mother came to Towell House at the end of March 2021, due to her having walking difficulties. She was continually falling in her own house and subsequently having to be admitted to hospital and rehab centres. I did extensive research into surrounding residential homes and was encouraged by what I saw at Towell House in the facilities, room types, entertainment and gardens. From my initial contact with the homes management team, I was dealt with in a very caring and professional manner, which reinforced my initial assessment and expectations of the home. The process to my Mother going in, was very expedient and trouble-free, in what was a totally new process to myself, in a very important part of my Mother's future wellbeing and future life. It was probably the most difficult time for this to happen, as it was the second phase of Covid, but the home made it as seamless as possible for all concerned.
Towell House goes above and beyond to look after its residents, not only their physical needs, but also keeping them stimulated, they have a great programme of entertainment for them each week, keeping them interested, occupied and alert. During this terrible time of pandemic, it has been exceptionally hard, they have done everything possible to keep the residents safe, and where possible, in touch with family.
During this horrible pandemic time, it has been impossible to visit the home but have enjoyed watching all the activities every day on Facebook. Such a happy place and the staff deserve full credit for all their hard work and commitment. It’s satisfying to see my relative enjoying herself with a smile. Keep up the good work.
As a family, we've had a very negative experience of the care and compassion afforded to residents and their families by Towell House. The management is very focused on outward PR and social media posts that they use as the primary proof of residents wellbeing yet our experience, both prior to Covid and throughout the pandemic was very poor. Communication with family is very limited, impersonal and we were made to feel like a burden when asking for support with our dad's deteriorating physical and mental health and when multiple personal items went missing. A large number of residents means there was no personalised care to meet our dad's needs. Despite being a residential home that claims to be suitable for dementia residents, this was not apparent in our dad's care which was also the view of his social worker. Having now moved dad to a new care home, the amazing communication, compassion and personalisation of the care are in stark contrast to our experience with Towell House.
My dad is a new man since he went to live in Towell House. He enjoys the company of residents, he adores the staff and nothing is too much trouble to any member of staff. There are activities which he enjoys, the fun day and music in the garden were excellent. Dad's now looking forward to the Christmas event. He went to the home for respite and after a few weeks, decided it really was best for him and also for me that he resides in Towell House for this next stage of his life. To everyone thank you for all you do, it is much appreciated by dad and by myself.
Until recently my brother in law was a resident of Towell House. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they gave him. The home itself is warm and welcoming and there are lots of activities for the residents to take part in. The management and staff are efficient and genuinely have the health and comfort of the residents at heart. Towell House is modern and comfortable and I thoroughly recommend it.
Having seen my mother settle so quickly into Towell House has been very reassuring to us as a family. The friendliness of all the staff, the good quality accommodation and food have been consistent. There is a range of activities almost every day, both morning and afternoons. There is excellent communication between Towell House and the family and I highly rate this care home.
