View Full Details of Ty Hafod Care HomeWe have just had a wonderful experience at Ty Hafod, celebrating Mother’s Day with a fabulous afternoon tea. The food was delicious (and abundant!) and the private atmosphere created for us was really appreciated. Ty Hafod’s staff have a warm, friendly approach with the residents and visitors alike. There is great entertainment and activities on hand and the staff take time to get to know the residents in their care.
Mum arrived at Ty Hafod Care Home in early 2019. We chose the home purely due to the friendliness and welcome when we visited. I was thrilled with the level of care and support that she received and she was made to feel very much part of the home. The home's strengths lie in its size and the fact that all the staff know each and every resident. They are cared for both as individuals and part of the Ty Hafod family. During mum's final weeks, the staff did not simply support mum but also the family and we were made very welcoming at any time of the day or night. The staff were superb.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming and are pleased that a resident is being visited. No appointment is needed; no restriction on time. The care is friendly and excellent; a family atmosphere is generated and residents are not left to their own devices; the care is constant and that is the most important thing. Ty Hafod is kept tidy and clean and the outlook over the garden through the lounge and bedroom windows is beneficial for residents, visitors and staff alike. But we cannot ignore the dining room which always looks spotless and attractive and the food wholesome and enjoyable - compliments to the chef and indeed the whole team at Ty Hafod, including the administration for keeping up the standard.
My dad who has dementia and is diabetic, has been to 3 different homes and Ty Hafod Care Home is by far the best. He is happy and well looked after, the staff are amazing and understand him, and his need for peace and quiet. The residents are treated with dignity and respect.
My husband was a resident at Ty Hafod for 16 months before he sadly passed away in June. He was admitted at a very difficult time, due to the covid restrictions but the staff made it as easy as circumstances allowed for me to visit. Later, as the situation improved, our daughters were allowed to visit which was so nice for my husband. By the Spring of 2022, some activities had resumed as well as events in the garden, where residents and their families could take part. Ty Hafod is not very big which gives it a homely feel. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and in particular, I would praise the office/admin members of staff. But thanks go to all who worked there for the care they gave my husband - thank you very much. (diolch yn fawr)
Ty Hafod is a wonderful care home. The staff could not be more friendly, helpful or professional. They take excellent take of my Uncle, regularly checking on his welfare and comfort. They are also fabulous with his relatives, always checking if we would like anything such as food or drinks. The fact that there are no restrictions on visiting times and also that you can bring dogs in is fantastic - seeing my cousin's dog really lifted my Uncle's spirits. He is receiving end-of-life care and the staff are so compassionate, whilst still looking after him exceptionally well. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this care home.
So very grateful to Ty Hafod for making space and time to care for my uncle. I'm even more appreciative of how warm, caring and welcoming the staff have been. They have been so great in making visitors (including my dog) feel at home here. I'm not religious, but angels work here. If I had to pick on one thing, it would be that the radio would remain switched on. I imagine being bedbound without a visitor might feel lonely without it. That's not a criticism of the staff however, I know how hard they work and they do so with so much patience and compassion.
The staff could not have been more helpful and user-friendly in all of their advice and dealings with getting my father into Ty Hafod. One member of staff, in particular, was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and expedient with my wife and I right the way through the initial process and Dad's welcome to Ty Hafod. The care home itself is clean, tidy, very functional and warm. The staff are friendly, caring and engaging with both my father and us. The food is very good, my dad loves it! The grounds are very pretty and restful. I am very relieved that we managed to secure a place for my father at Ty Hafod. I would thoroughly recommend Ty Hafod.
Would thoroughly recommend Ty Hafod to anyone needing care. The staff are always friendly, kind and really took an interest in my mother-in-law. The process of getting a loved one into permanent care can seem daunting, but the manager was extremely helpful in guiding us through the process. Whilst the decor in the rooms may be a little old-fashioned, the cleanliness is excellent. And after all, which is most important! My mother-in-law was always kept very clean and regularly changed, despite being bedridden. Thank you very much to a wonderful team!
My Mum became a resident in April of this year. She was in the last stages of dementia and had been cared for by my brother and his wife for 3 years. After several weeks she was admitted to hospital and was very poorly for 6 weeks. She went back to Ty Hafod Care Home and passed away 8 weeks later. During that time she was very well cared for by all the staff. She needed a lot of care which included feeding and eventually turning in the bed before she passed away. I sat with Mum for a number of days as did my sister-in-law and I was very impressed with the care and kindness of the staff including the cleaner who did a very good job. It was a huge decision for us as a family to put Mum into care so would just like to say a big Thank You for all the care that you gave to her.
Well done, and thank you to all the dedicated and caring staff who look after my grandmother and all the other residents each day. You're a wonderful team!
All the staff are friendly and caring and have always been happy to talk to us regarding any issues regarding my mother's care. The home managed the pandemic well, caring for the residents under difficult circumstances and were very helpful when I had any queries. The food is very good, according to my mother and I feel that the place is secure, yet welcoming.
My aunt just moved into the care home. There was a very warm welcome from all the staff, which is marvellous. The manager was excellent; she made my aunt feel comfortable. The staff are amazing. The location is beautiful. It's the best decision we made. Welcoming and homey feel. Happy atmosphere, friendly and hardworking carers and visiting hours are good. Thank you.
I have been to many homes to find another home for my husband who had a severe stroke in 2019. He was desperate to be nearer the family. As I walked into the home, I was welcomed by the cleaner, carers and kitchen staff as they went about their daily routine. I witnessed a rapport and affection between residents and staff that was beautiful. The carers were in the communal room, working but there was a family atmosphere which cannot be staged. Immediately, the manager made me feel relaxed and optimistic. She leads the team professionally and discusses issues with residents, family and carers. My husband has been urged to try to do more, he had become reclusive. He has agreed to do things here where previously his assessment of capacity lead him to be left in his room. They are giving him back a sense of himself, that he is a valued member of the community he has joined. He loves having his dog visit him regularly. It's lovely to see that she too is benefitting from seeing him.
The home provided excellent palliative nursing care. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Members of the family were treated with respect and were able to visit regularly. Thank you to everyone for your care and support.
Ty Hafod Care Home is a very warm and friendly place that exudes a lovely homely feel as soon as you enter the premises. My mother has only recently moved into this care home, and all the staff there have made her feel very welcome, which has helped her settle into her new surroundings very quickly. The manager has also been excellent in taking time out to make my mother feel very comfortable and relaxed in communicating to her the high standard of service levels that is expected by all staff working there. Ty Hafod is a very clean and well laid out care home that provides eating areas and communal TV rooms, allowing residents to interact when they are happy to do so. The private rooms are very spacious and have a lovely view of the surrounding rural countryside area, which is very peaceful and quiet. The wide selection of food provided to all the residents is very good and is of a high standard. Overall, I am very happy to have my mother reside here.
Visited on 20th April to find a suitable nursing home for Mum, who has been in hospital for three months. Received a very warm welcome from the manager, who showed us a lovely, bright room with countryside views and gave us a detailed account of how the home was run, including a fabulous menu and activities available to residents.
My mum has been at Ty Hafod since just before Christmas, and she has settled in really well. The home is small and feels very warm and welcoming. It is reassuring to know that my mum is being looked after so well, and we are always updated with any issues or concerns. I feel that the staff and carers genuinely care for my mum. The staff are compassionate and already know my mum very well, which is very reassuring during this difficult time.
I find the home very accommodating for the residents and very helpful to relatives and visitors alike. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate you. I would be very happy to have any relative of mine in Ty Haford.
Ty Hafod has supported us to continue visiting our mother over the last few months, with precautions in place. We are very appreciative of this as some care homes have stopped visits completely. We also feel that the staff have worked hard to support my mother and provide additional internal activities during this time.
