View Full Details of Dalnaglar Care HomeMy mum has settled in really well, it's so nice to see her smiling and joining in, mum does love music and she loves to sing, I'm very happy with the care that she's receiving. The home is lovely, there's always a happy atmosphere, and the staff are always welcoming too.
Dalnaglar are now like an extended family to us. All the staff in the home couldn't have been more caring to my father whilst he stayed there. His palliative care was amazing, and I don't think our family would have been able to get through such a difficult time without all of their support. The Activities Coordinator brings life and soul into the home, all activities are well thought out and each of the residents interests are considered. Fantastic staff, they are absolute angels! Thank you, all of you.
I am always made welcome when I visit my sister and the staff offer tea, coffee and biscuits. They are very kind and supportive of residents and are always willing to keep you updated about stuff going on. They inform you of any changes in my sister's condition and are very supportive in trying what is best for her. She is settled, and comfortable and they're aware of her needs and attend to her very attentively.
As you can imagine after 61 years it was a difficult decision to put my husband into care but now that he is settled in Dalnaglar I know it was the right decision. The staff are friendly caring and patient and they deliver to a very high standard with efficiency and humour. The home itself is bright and sunny which I personally feel is effective in supporting a positive frame of mind and my husband's room is spacious and airy with a view of the lovely Crieff Hills. I am also reliably informed by him that the meals at Dalnaglar are 'tiptop'. If I have any issues or questions the home is helpful and the forward-looking manager is extremely approachable. I admire her inborn ability to successfully manage such a large and diverse team of workers. The excellent nursing staff are always on hand to give advice thanks to the enthusiastic entertainment officer. There is plenty of fun on offer both outdoors and indoors. As it happens I don't have to travel far to see my husband so it goes without saying I feel incredibly lucky and relieved that he is a resident there.
The staff are working hard to help my husband settle in his new home. The staff have kept me up to date with any changes in my husband’s behaviour. There are plenty of activities available if they want to join in.
My mother-in-law is always happy when I manage to come in and visit her. My only issue is sometimes the smell of cigarettes in the lift. Mostly the staff are all friendly and have a smile and welcome you when you arrive.
Very good level of care. Staff are attentive, professional and thoughtful about patients' individual needs. Activities are regularly available. Support for various needs is provided. Meals are decent. Well managed. Rooms are quite comfortable although a little clinical.
My dad was admitted around eighteen months ago and at first, I was very concerned about him going to a care home but my worries were soon squashed. I and the rest of his family have nothing but respect for the care staff at Balhousie Dalnaglar Care Home and also the activities coordinator down to the domestic staff and also the chefs etc. Got to know most staff but not all of them but the home does an amazing job looking after my dad. It’s never easy leaving after visiting but we do so knowing he is in safe hands. Thank you.
My dad has just arrived here at Balhousie Dalnaglar Care Home this week and was given such a warm welcome from all the staff and every need catered for. Puts my mind at ease when l can see he is happy and well looked after. Lovely setting, rooms are nicely decorated and the place has a cosy feel to it.
A wonderful place and the staff are so helpful and wonderful. Could not fault the place. Thank you so much for helping and being there for Mum. Always decent with helpful conversations and always kept up to date with information.
My aunt resides in this nursing home and we are very happy with the care she receives when visiting the staff are very helpful as I stay in Dundee and the nursing home is in Crieff we have thought about moving her to Dundee but feel this would be detrimental to her health as she is very settled and the staff are amazing with her. I also receive regular updates about her health so can’t thank everyone enough.
I have found the Dalnaglar staff very friendly and helpful. They have been very supportive of my brother and have improved his mental health and well-being. The social interactions are positive and relationships are professional and well tailored to his needs. There is a very positive atmosphere in the home, he feels valued and is engaged with the staff. He loves the musical events and conversations with others. He is supported with his daily living needs and have responded to his requests appropriately. I see a big difference in him since he left hospital to live in Dalnaglar. He is more content and relaxed. The staff have picked up on health issues very quickly and acted appropriately involving medical professionals when needed. They encourage him to look after himself as he sometimes does not seem keen. I feel welcomed and involved in his care when I visit and also via contact by mobile or text. It is such a relief to know that he is being well cared for. Thank you so much.
My mum has been a resident of Dalnaglar for over two years. She cannot mobilise, and her care team are fantastic at making her comfortable and ensuring that she has access to the full range of activities available. They are all extremely kind and provide a very person-centred approach to her care and well-being.
Mum is so well cared for. The Activities Coordinator is great, always thinking of new things to do. This is Mum's home/family now and I love that we are always included in everything. It's lovely to be welcomed by name when you arrive for a visit and offered tea or coffee; makes you feel included.
The staff have been extremely supportive in helping me adjust to my husband's Alzheimers and very supportive of him. He is very well cared for. My worry is the time he is alone because of his refusal to go into the common area. The staff make a point of speaking to him when passing his room.
We always find the staff friendly and very efficient. The home is well looked after (clean and tidy). We feel my dad is in a safe environment and looked after.
Staff are attentive, thorough and caring. They remain patient and cheerful when dealing with dementia unit residents. The activity program is varied. Mum has especially enjoyed drawing, knitting and petting the visiting dog.
Without a doubt, my sister who is a challenge at times has had the utmost best care I could wish for her. She is well looked after by everyone. The staff are fabulous. I do feel so much more settled knowing she is looked after. The standards are high as well. The food is lovely and it's spotlessly clean. The activities they put on for the residents are fabulous, always something going on. I have seen a vast improvement in my sister since she moved here. I thank you all for the care of my sister.
I would like to pay tribute to the management and all of the hardworking, dedicated staff at Dalnaglar. I thank each and every one of them for all of their hard work and dedication, each and every working day. The last couple of years, during the Covid pandemic, have been particularly testing, with even more demands being required of the staff. Their professionalism has never waivered and they have continued to deliver a friendly and efficient service that they should be proud of. My elderly mother has been looked after very well since becoming a resident back in 2019. She has a lovely room, her every need is taken care of, the home is kept clean and tidy and she is very content there.
I am well pleased that my wife enjoys the competent, professional care and whole sympathetic nursing qualities that are very evident at Dalnaglar. In my opinion, she is very fortunate to have been accepted as a long-term patient into the Balhousie facility.
