View Full Details of Collingwood Court Care HomeMy 96 year old aunt was a resident in this care home for less than three months and that was three months too long. So bad was the care she received that her social worker transferred her to a different care home. It was that bad! My aunt experienced no care in this care home. She was neglected and treated with absolutely no dignity and her personal property, which was clearly named, went missing and was never returned. If you are thinking about sending one of your relatives to this care home I would strongly recommend you think again.
I find the care home staff very approachable and professional. It always seems clean and tidy at the home. I think that maybe the garden areas could do with some freshening up. They have a nice team of staff at the home and they all seem to work well together.
A very caring care home with friendly, attentive and supportive staff.
The staff are very friendly and efficient. My father looks very happy, content and relaxed. He was also very well taken care of and the interaction was excellent.
The care home is a welcoming place with staff supporting residents' requests and needs. The care home is regularly maintained. For the residents that cannot communicate with their relatives, the nursing or management should consider updating relatives at least once a week about the resident's full status. Staff communicate well with relatives of the residents.
On arrival at the care home, there is a warm welcome from the receptionist. Everyone says hello with a smile. I found everywhere clean and nicely decorated and residents are well cared for. The dining room is very nice and inviting. I cannot comment on the activities as I haven't seen any in progress or heard of them. Overall I found the visit a pleasant experience.
Generally, the staff are very friendly and helpful, but I am not sure what Bupa's policy is about giving information regarding my husband's health issues. The doctors I have spoken to have all been willing to answer all my questions - which was appreciated. I was very pleased that the home has persuaded my husband to eat solid food again, and his colour is much improved. I feel that the home has looked after my husband very well.
The care shown to my brother is excellent. Staff go out of their way to communicate and keep us informed of any needs or issues relating to his wellbeing. The management are always available to contact and are willing to return calls and queries quickly. Since becoming our brothers home many staff have become more like friends and are a great source of comfort, love and joy which fills his day. He has never spoken about the staff other than the kindness and fun he has during his days. I have nothing but praise for them all.
As my elderly mother is from an ethnic minority group, it was important for me to find a home that understood her cultural needs - whether it be her personal care, moisturising her skin and oiling and plaiting her hair or understanding that her family might, on occasion, want to bring in foods that would be familiar to her. Collingwood Court Care Home has also been extremely supportive and understanding of our family ties. As someone who has always felt close and duty-bound to her mother, the home has enabled me to have an active role to continue playing my part in my mother's ongoing care.
Food is very good - feel very happy with the care my wife receives. I can see her dignity is respected and I am always made to feel welcome. The home has managed the recent heat wave very well and kept my wife hydrated and safe.
My mother was admitted seven months ago and so far she has received excellent care.
My mum has been here four weeks. My mum took time to settle in, especially in the nighttime. My mum lost her husband four months before coming into Collingwood Court Care Home. My mum likes the food, all the workers, she has a laugh with them all. Rooms are nice. Very clean throughout Collingwood Court. My mum seems very happy here. We visit very regularly. I get on with all the staff, they are very friendly and kind and helpful. Communication is very good. I am happy for my mum to be here although I didn't want Mum in care.
Mum has made friends since arriving at Collingwood Court Care Home. Mum is looked after well and I can see good progression in her every day. There is an amazing carer who gets to know the residents. She is a true asset to Collingwood Court. I am happy for my mum to be here.
My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2014. In 2017 she no longer recognised me as her husband. Between 2017 and 2019 she became more difficult to assist. I was incapable of understanding her speech, especially unable to understand her medical problems. In October 2019, my brother-in-law died, and I was an executor and was required to assist my sister. My wife was incapable of travelling to Lincolnshire, a four-hour drive. I required to find a short term care home. Initially, she did not like her room in Collingham. After two weeks, she loved the care and the staff. I decided she should stay. Her treatment at Collingwood has been perfect. They have invariably understood any problems and provide solutions. She is very happy there and very much likes the carers and nurses who help her immensely.
The staff at Collingwood Court Care Home are extremely conscientious, caring and kind. Due to my father's young age, it was an incredibly difficult decision to agree to nursing care. However, my family and I have been so happy with the care he has received and how well he is looked after. The team all know him and chat with him. I am very grateful for their support during this difficult time.
I had not seen my mum for over a year due to Covid-19. When I went today I was so happy at how amazing my mum looked. When we moved my mum from the last care home I thought she wouldn't last long as she was so thin. On seeing her today she looked a picture of health. Thank you to all the staff at Collingwood Court Care Home.
Collingwood Court Care Home - very nice to stay here. The reason why I am here temporarily for six weeks is for looked after care support and to get well and fit. The staff are caring all round and it is very peaceful and calm here. Thank you.
I would like to express how wonderful, caring and compassionate every staff member has been towards my mom. The room is spacious and kept very clean, and the staff take care to make sure it’s comfortable for my mom. The meals are cooked fresh and very tasty. My mother has said on many occasions; how much she looks forward to mealtimes as the food is so well prepared and tasty. I have always felt welcome by the receptionist and my dealing with management has been extremely positive - putting me at ease, knowing they really care about their clients. The staff and very professional and excel in the service they provide. Nothing is too much effort, and all are keen to help or assist. The transition from home to care home; has been a very positive experience for my mom; who has care 24-hours a day and a helpful and supportive team providing excellent care and dignity towards her. Thank you all; for making her end of life stay so pleasant and dignified.
My relative is looking so happy, relaxed and settled. So happy to see these changes, the activities and she takes him out and chats with him. I am so glad to know that he is well looked after. Well done to all the team.
