View Full Details of Ellesmere HouseI lived at Ellesmere House from May 2023 to May 2024. I found the home to be very well run by the Management team. Furthermore, I received wonderful care from the carers and the nurses. They were all very friendly and extremely helpful and no request for help was too much for them to do. Moreover, the activity coordinators offered a wide range of activities like keep fit and bingo but also brought people in from outside for live music, tai chi and church services. A truly wonderful experience.
I'm grateful to all of the caring and medical staff who took care of my friend during the final phase of her life, due to a terminal illness. Everyone involved did their best to make her feel as comfortable as possible. I also would like to thank the administrative staff for their help to me which was given with attentiveness and understanding. We all know that the care sector is going through difficult times but clearly the staff do their very best to minimise the effect on the residents. Thank you all.
My mother was a resident at Ellesmere House. The staff are caring beyond words, they are completely selfless people who work extremely hard. My mother was looked after and made to feel comfortable. We'd like to thank all the staff for their hard work at Ellesmere and will always be thankful for taking care of our Mum!
The nurses and the carers are very good. They have a wealth of knowledge, the way they treat my husband and families, and compassion. The nurses are also competent and respond quickly to any questions I may have. They are always cheerful in his presence and patient with his condition. The activity coordinator makes great efforts for residents. Having a hospital next door to the care home is a big plus in an emergency.
A very dear friend has been in the Ellesmere care in Chelsea for several weeks after being moved here from the hospital. The staff are amazing, so caring and kind. We have been overwhelmed today as she now has been allocated a permanent place. The manager has explained fully. She is so genuinely kind and it shows how much she cares deeply about her residents.
The manager appeared very friendly, helpful and welcoming. She's very positive and caring person and made us comfortable and very reassuring. I'm happy for my friend to stay and have her permanent residence here, as I'm sure she'll get lots of care and love.
My sister was a resident at Ellesmere for approximately 2 years. She passed away in February. The standard of care was exceptional, particularly in the latter months of her life, when my sister’s mental and physical condition declined significantly. My sister was treated with great care and good humour. I was kept in touch with her condition by staff and the doctor regularly.
My mother, aged 100, has been very happy at Ellesmere House. My first visit being shown around was excellent, as was the follow-up by management. The suggestion that I bring personal items was good. The room and bathroom are both large and sunny. The staff are so caring, always attentive and professional. In all, a very good place!
I was so happy to see an improvement in my friend, he seems much better. Also, one staff member I saw was so friendly to him.
The staff are excellent, but with a few serious exceptions. The food is good, but would be better if it could be served hotter.
The dedicated and experienced staff have been stalwart supporting, caring and nursing my mother. It feels like home here, with friendly neighbours. Sometimes it seems Mum's happier here than she's ever been. We're all very grateful in the family for everything you do.
Ellesmere House Care Home provided excellent care for a very old lady. The surroundings are very pleasant, staff are helpful, cheerful and competent.
This is a very calm environment, and my mother-in-law is looked after with kindness and care. It is easy to discuss ideas for her care and condition with staff, and they listen and treat her as an individual.
I was here for a short-term rehabilitation stay. It was wonderful to have peace of mind, with attentive staff and a safe and secure environment. The room was comfortable. The stay was very helpful in aiding my recovery.
The carers are excellent. The laundry cleaning staff and home handyman are all excellent. Workers from elsewhere are excellent. Nurses - one or two are not up to standard but the rest are excellent. Assistant Manager, Manager, Reception, and Finance are all excellent as was the medical care. The activities are very good. The home is very good.
Since I live abroad, until mid-June I only had email and Skype contacts with my uncle and I always felt he was in good hands. But by starting visiting him regularly I found that care and assistance is much better than I thought. The home looks like a hotel, nice rooms, and communal areas. Staff extremely caring and kind - such a high standard that in Italy we couldn't even dream of. I much appreciate that I can call in without any pre-advice and spend valuable time - for me - with my uncle.
My wife and I were very apprehensive about moving dad into a care home, but we needn't have worried. From the initial point of contact with the homes management doing their initial assessment to the welcome the care staff and nurses gave dad everyone has been kind, patient and caring. Dad has settled in so well, always looks smart and has put on weight - Chef came to see dad on his 2nd day, asking his likes and dislikes. I have seen meals varied (in taste, and texture) for my dad and others and there is home made cake every day. The maintenance chap was so helpful, putting up pictures and shelves to make dad feel at home. We're so happy we chose Ellesmere House!
My mother was so well looked after by the whole staff team at Ellesmere House. From the initial communication by the management to the warm welcome we received from the receptionist every one was so friendly and helpful. The care staff are always engaging with Mum by either reading the daily paper or playing some of her favourite music. Chef came to visit Mum on her first day and was very keen to know what Mum liked and disliked. The activity staff encouraged Mum to join in with a cookery session, which she really enjoyed. The cleaners never stopped cleaning, taking extra care with door handles and handrails. Overall, I was very impressed.
Ellesmere has been absolutely fantastic over the last year, caring for my mother during the pandemic. They have kept in regular contact, letting me know how Mum is getting on when I haven’t been able to see her. I know she is safe and cared for greatly by the staff. The manager is always available and approachable, and I feel very secure knowing my mum is in great hands.
Despite the restrictions Covid has brought, my wife has always been very well cared for by lovely carers, cleaners, cooks and activity staff. The staff support FaceTime conversations every week and my wife looks happy and healthy. There has been a change of management, but the home still seems to run smoothly. I would happily recommend Ellesmere House.
