View Full Details of The Highgate Care HomeMy father has been in The Highgate for 10 months. He has been welcomed into The Highgate family and has received exemplary care. A stable team of carers and nurses means they have got to know my father well and have been able to adapt their care as he has become more frail. This personalised care is the mark of The Highgate. Communication between the home and our family has been excellent. Regular GP visits to the home make both regular and one-off medical interventions very straightforward. I am relieved that my father is in such safe hands.
The Highgate Nursing Home is run by an amazing team of managers (including the area manager), carers and staff (especially the night carers and night nurses). The managers are working so hard to make sure everyone is safe here. Staff are supportive and approachable. The atmosphere is professional and calm and the carers are great and they are lovely carers. The new activity manager has joined the team and has already started lots of good work for the residents. Nurses all caring. Also special thanks to the staff for making sure the home is safe all the time. Really appreciate it. Due to confidentially, I could not include names, but if I could I would mention lots of names here.
My family and I want to tell everyone at Highgate Care Home how much we appreciate your support and kindness. Everyone provides excellent care and treats my grandmother with compassion. We want to thank everyone so much.
The staff at the Highgate Care Home should be very proud of themselves and the service they provide. They are professional, compassionate, understanding and welcoming, they make you feel like you are part of the team/family that works there. For the whole time, my brother was at the home he was treated with dignity and compassion and there was a sense of real care with the staff taking a keen interest in knowing the people they were looking after. The staff kept us informed on my brother's care plan and advised us at all times of changes, we always knew what was happening. I can honestly say that I have never met such a caring group of people who conducted themselves with such professionalism and compassion and I can't thank them enough, what a team.
My father had been struggling to live at home and he had several falls and ended up in hospital for 3 months. He was unable to return home as he needed 24-hour supervision and nursing care. Since being at The Highgate Care Home I have seen a remarkable improvement in his well-being and his anxiety has greatly reduced. In my conversations with my father, he often tells me how much the care staff have helped him and shown him nothing but kindness. I would like to thank the manager and his team for all their understanding and empathy in caring for my father.
Fantastic staff, lovely building and location make the best of a bad situation. I feel that my mother is well looked after here and can relax knowing that we’re all doing the best we can for her. Thank you.
I am so pleased to say that the experience we had at The Highgate Care Home was wholly positive. We did appreciate the staff's kindness, competence and caring attitude. The management and the administrative staff were equally helpful and punctual in responding to our bureaucratic needs. The overall ambience of the institution is welcoming and warm, making a resident feel at home. Keep it up!
Thank you to the manager and the team. We are very grateful for the care you provided for our father. When our father was in hospital, you called us and checked on our father. You check on our father even when passing on the corridors. Your care means a lot. Your warm approach, your professionalism and paying attention to father’s needs is very much appreciated. You put Dad’s safety and needs as your priority and we can’t thank you enough. Sending you kindest regards and best wishes.
The home went over and above for our mum's 90th birthday party. Made her a cake. Decorated the room and printed and laminated a photo of mum and her 3 daughters for our mum. In general day to day, the staff are amazing.
Very very good. My experience has been absolutely wonderful, the managers and staff were very helpful, cheerful and happy and made my stay absolutely wonderful. I will be very sorry when I leave. I highly recommend this home to everyone it's a very high standard.
We as a family are so thankful to The Highgate Care Home with its amazing staff who help our mum on a day-to-day basis for all her needs. They have all given her a purpose with all the different activities. Every day we appreciate all you all do for her.
My brother - a survivor of several strokes - has only been in Highgate for two weeks, and we can all already see a huge difference in his apparent state of mind and in how clean and presentable he invariably is. He looks much happier, and his engagement with the staff is very positive and promising. Everybody is very friendly and supportive, yet reassuringly strict with residents' care protocols. Recently, I have contacted them to arrange an upcoming birthday do and was blown away by the offer of an in-house birthday cake, decorations, crockery and glassware and generally the whole-hearted intention to do everything possible to make it a very special day for my brother. It means so much to have this kind of peace of mind.
My mother can be difficult but the Care Staff show exemplary patience with her. She has the opportunity to be involved with activities and social interaction and the staff do their best to encourage her to take part. The staff themselves make a good team and create a friendly caring atmosphere.
I rang this morning to wish my daughter a happy birthday and was immediately offered a face to face call later in the day. Really appreciated the offer as we live so far away from the Highgate that visiting is not really practicable.
I am grieving for my recently dead father and on Saturday night one of the two-night nurses, who already knows that my father has died because I have told her 8 times. She was very insensitive in my opinion and told me to cheer up. Something that I wouldn't tell anyone to do ever.
This is an excellent care home. Very spacious and clean, beautiful gardens and overall a very pleasant ambience. My wife has received excellent care from the management, nurses and carers. We could not have hoped for better. I have not seen activities as my wife has not been able to participate, but they appear to be good. My wife is in the home with costs paid by NHS continuing healthcare, so I have no rating for value for money.
Highgate is a safe secure environment. The staff are caring and kind. I look forward to the time when we get back to having an activity coordinator. The staff certainly care for my well-being and I certainly appreciate their dedication.
My dad was a doctor and had a stroke about 5 years ago. He was not expected to live more than 3 months. Five years later and he has finally passed. Was not able to eat or ambulate, but had an excellent quality of life and the staff kept him in great shape all those years, thank you!
My husband needed urgent discharge from hospital, and The Highgate Care Home gave him a lovely home, a room with a view over gardens, and all the care he needed to recover from bed sores received in the hospital and have given him a pressure releasing mattress. Because he had suffered a severe stroke, he is fed through a peg direct into his stomach, all very professionally done by the nurses and carers. Thank you.
I was so impressed by the quality of care. The staff were kind, warm, helpful, efficient and professional. It was a major component in my post-operative recovery. Thank you to all who were part of the team. The kitchens were very accommodating and I ate well, thank you. The night staff were always responsive in giving me pain medication. Thank you, I would be happy to stay again. There are always things that could be improved, some people came into my room without being introduced, but I managed. The cleaning in my room and bathroom was not every day, but I managed. The bed was not right for my hip pain, but I managed. The cupboards and drawers were stained, but I managed. I know how hard it is to maintain a property, so I am not complaining. Once again, thanks to all.
