View Full Details of Westcombe Park Care HomeWestcombe Park is a very homely and kind care home. All the staff are happy, caring, knowledgeable, and experienced. Communication and service is excellent and the activities and specialisation are appreciated. The care home is well maintained, clean and tidy. The room and facilities are fabulous and the environment is a 'home from home'. The food unfortunately could still be better. The variety is perfect but the cooking standard could be better.
The carers are caring! And almost always remain cheerful and positive when with residents. The level of security is very reassuring. The management interaction with residents and relatives is well-balanced.
I am so relieved and pleased that my husband is at Westcombe Park Care Home. I know he is in good hands. The care staff are thoughtful and thorough. The manager talks to residents and their families on a regular basis. Our voices are heard! The recreation team works so hard to provide entertainment and activities for all tastes.
I came to Westcombe Park after a heart operation and I am so glad I did. Everyone is so kind, helpful and cheerful. Just what I needed when feeling exhausted and unwell. I'll certainly recommend Westcombe Park to anyone who needs some care.
I didn't expect to need a care home. The staff helped me settle in. They help me make the best of everything. I am grateful for the daily care I receive.
I felt well cared for at Westcombe Park, although staff shortages led to a few problems, such as missing some morning activities (chair exercises) as I had not been showered in time. The room was quiet and kept clean, although the floorings in both the bedroom and bathroom need replacing as they are worn. There was a good variety of food. The fruit plate was especially welcome to me as a 'pre-diabetic' but there was no sugar-free yoghurt.
I visit Westcombe Park Care Home twice a month as it is in St John's Parish. I enjoy listening and talking to the residents, I have made friends with several of them. I have not heard a single criticism of the staff or food, just some times other residents when they are being noisy through no fault of their own. I enjoy also chatting to the regulars in the common room, they seem happy. In fact the atmosphere in the home is pleasant throughout.
My sister has been well treated at Westcombe Park. Staff have been very welcoming and supportive. Food in recent months has been too variable.
My brother was admitted to Westcombe Park Care Home on 17/01/2023 and died there on 15/10/2024. In all that time he was very well cared for by the nursing staff, care workers and in particular the two ladies who arranged all the social activities and entertainment. Thank you all very much for looking after my lovely brother.
It is a shame I cannot name people as there are so many wonderful people in Westcombe Park who deserve a mention. Our family feel blessed to have our Mum in this home. Her care is amazing and she is treated with respect and love. The relative gateway is very useful and quarterly resident and relative meetings are always set up effectively for us to join digitally.
My mum's stay was very short but during that time all the staff tried their hardest to make sure her stay was as comfortable as possible. They tried to get to know her habits and it was all the more difficult as she did not speak much English. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and tried to be as accommodating as possible. I am sad that Mum could not stay longer.
My mother has been at Westcombe Park for just over a year. We are extremely happy with her care. This means we do not have to worry about her. We know that her care and domiciliary needs are fully met and she is happy which makes us happy. Thank you, Westcombe Park.
My father moved into the home in July 2023. It's been a great place for him. He recognised the need for full-time professional care and he has been provided this at Westcombe Park care home in a most wonderful way. The greatest asset of the care home is the staff and the whole team at Westcombe Park have been so kindly and caring of him. I couldn't think of a better place for him to be at this time of life.
A welcoming, happy environment. Staff made an amazing effort over Christmas for residents and families to feel part of the celebrations. Entertainment staff also put on activities on a daily basis with singer, carol services and animals being brought into the home. The care home is spotless and a welcoming home. Residents families were also invited to a Christmas, which was thoroughly enjoyed.
The staff and management were amazing in everything they do for everyone at Westcombe Park Care Home. There is nothing I can say, everything was excellent.
I really appreciate the staff at Westcombe Park. After my grandad was discharged from the hospital we brought him here while his new house was getting prepared. Since being here his health has done a 180-degree turn. The staff were extremely helpful in rehabilitating him, not only physically but mentally as well. The constant routine and mental stimulation did amazing things for him. He really enjoyed his time here.
It is a privilege for me to write this review to you at Westcombe Park Care Home for a job well done during the stay of my daddy here. I am feeling very proud of your performance and the care being rendered to my daddy. Thanks so much.
Since arriving in November 2022 my wife has progressed well and looks amazing, having had regular showers, hair washed and dried which makes her look so much more like her old self I know and love, she is so much happier and cheerful and appreciates the staff coming in to see her.
My 89-year-old mother moved into Westcombe Park Care Home in November and has quickly settled in. She enjoys the companionship of having a cup of tea with everyone and getting involved with the games and events in the lounge every day but also has the space to rest in her room when needed. It’s a huge relief knowing that she’s so well cared for and I am so grateful for the kindness shown to my mother by all of the staff.
Mum has only been in this home since January 2023. She has been on palliative care, we have found from reception, staff and management friendly and kind. When needed for assistance have provided the help where they can. Some of the relevant options we can't answer due to Mum's circumstances.
