View Full Details of The Kensington Care HomeThe Kensington Care Home is wonderful. Both my parents lived here and were extremely well looked after. I am so grateful to all the staff. They are so caring. Thank you.
My 'ex' left me for another woman, then when he wanted to come back 3 months later, I had found someone else. I tell you this so that you realise that there is no culpability, therefore no hard feeling between us. I was shocked to see the deterioration in him, since my return from six months away. No blame on his care - the patience, gentleness and sympathy of all the staff deserves the highest praise. One small improvement might be a space where residents could meet for simple interactions, such as jigsaw puzzles and singalongs, under-non professional supervision, as well as the organised activities in the afternoon. It's depressing to be alone for too long.
I have been very happy with the care home. The thing that is of greater importance to me is that I live five bus stops or a fifteen-minute car journey from the home and this means I can visit often. I have never been to another care home so I can't make a comparison. My beloved husband is very emotional and cries with happiness and with sadness. I always know the difference. The second most important thing for me is that I can visit at any time.
The options chosen in the questions below speak for themselves but they are very much a true representation of my continuing admiration and gratitude for everyone involved in my wife's care.
I was a respite user. Room small but had recently been refurbished and redecorated. The carer/nurse service was generally good but particularly at two weekends it was evident there there was under staffing. Food quality was fine but orders of breakfast was haphazard. I concentrated on physio rehab, I did not use activities but for care residents this seems to be quite extensive. There is an attractive garden but weather generally poor.
I have recently stayed at BUPA Kensington for 2 weeks post-operative care. The nurses and carers were very attentive and helpful. The accommodation and facilities have recently been refurbished and are lovely. I particularly enjoyed the hidden secret garden in the middle of London! Walking around the garden was a big part of helping my mobility and recovery. The weak link is the catering - the quality and range of food on offer is poor and does not match the rest of the experience.
My mother is a resident of The Kensington Care Home. Since day one the entire staff have gone above and beyond to meet her every need. They made accommodations with the chef to prepare special foods to her liking and extended similar attention in countless other situations. My mother's considerable demands are not easy to fulfil yet they do it unfailingly, with kindness, compassion, professionalism and an abundance of humanity. One would think she is the only resident but it's plain to see that they treat everyone the same. I can not write enough praise for these very special individuals at The Kensington Care Home.
The Kensington Care Home gives residents an exceptional quality of life by providing very good caring attention to my sister diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The staff are without exception really attentive and wonderfully caring.
The Kensington Care Home is a very special place of care and consideration for all its residents and staff. The welcome as soon as you walk into reception is warm and kind and very respectful. The standard of care of the staff is communicating with the residents and helping them in any way they can is excellent. In fact excellence describes this care home perfectly.
I find this a very good care home. The staff are friendly and caring. There is a lovely sense of community and a great choice of activities to keep residents stimulated, including music concerts. All in all I highly recommend this as a care home.
My cousin seemed very comfortable and certainly well cared for. The whole place is very friendly and has a spacious feeling. My cousin's room is lovely, and the door being open, he isn't cut off from the life around him.
We are so pleased that our father is in your care home. The home is great but it is the staff that makes the place. Everyone is so friendly and supportive. It feels like a nice place to come to.
Staff are always professional and very friendly. Additionally, the home is always found to be very clean.
Two first-floor team leaders are outstanding; as too are their entire team. Always a welcoming atmosphere on arrival, both ground floor and first.
I have been very impressed by all the staff and have total confidence in their care and compassion for my husband. I have also witnessed their infinite patience not only with my husband but with all the residents.
Dad had been in the hospital and needed extra care. From the moment I contacted The Kensington, the staff were helpful, kind and professional. They really got to know my father well and accommodated all his needs and requests. They took the time to talk to me and helped me adjust to the new situation. We could not have asked for better care. A very good experience.
My mother has enjoyed her time here, the care has been excellent and the food is extremely nutritious and tasty. Wouldn't hesitate to use the care again should the need arise.
Stay is comfortable - very good rooms, they are kept clean and accessible. Staff are helpful and kind and keep us informed regarding activities and information.
I couldn't recommend anywhere better. The staff are fantastic, helpful and friendly. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the food is excellent.
This care home is excellent with a lovely garden to walk in and the facilities for sitting with other residents are very pleasant, with good coffee-making facilities, but above all, it is the endless kindness and care given to me by the wonderful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. It will indeed be hard to get back home and deal with everyday life after all the kindness of the staff.
