My sister was lovingly looked after in her last days at the nursing home by dedicated and respectful staff. She spent over 5 years there and we felt she was very well cared for and involved in activities. Staff were always happy to talk if there were any issues and quickly resolved them.
This experience was initially challenging and daunting in many aspects. However, my fears and anxieties were soon laid to rest as the overall presence and attitude of staff was very complimentary. I was treated with respect and professional behaviour was displayed at all times. The care given to my wife was very good and emphasis mainly centred around her being made as comfortable as possible. Please continue the good work.
My mum lived here for the last few months of her life, we wished she had moved in earlier. Mum had fantastic care. The staff and nurses are amazing. Mum loved living there. Mum was so much brighter and happier having lived there. We are so grateful and appreciate the support she was given. Can't thank you enough.
My mum was a resident at Albany Nursing Home for 10 years. The carers and nursing staff looked after my mum with respect and politeness and kindness. Mum always looked clean and happy. The staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. The manager was nice and there were various activities available.
My beloved sister was recently a resident of Albany. Myself, brother and niece's have nothing but praise for the staff and management who run this wonderful home. My sister received the greatest of care whilst she was there, and the staff went above and beyond to make us, her family, feel supported, and this means every single member of staff, not just one or two. Their care of our sister was truly faultless. The home was clean, the food excellent, and nothing was too much trouble, either for our sister or for us, her family, and, as a family, we are just so thankful that she spent her last remaining days there, being cared for and supported. On behalf of her family, we would like to thank all staff and management from the bottom of our hearts for making the unbearable more bearable. Thank you.
Outstanding care home the respect and dignity they show the residents is by far the best. They cared and gave them time even if bed-bound. They fulfilled their days with dance, laughter and games. The individual 1-1 care was perfect they showed them time, it wasn't rushed.
When I first visited Albany Nursing Home the reception staff and manager were friendly and knowledgeable. They were happy to show me around and discuss options, despite there being no room available at that time. I was able to put my relative’s name on a waiting list. When a room became available the Home contacted me immediately and all went smoothly after that. The carers and nurses were kind, capable and understanding of my relative’s needs. I could discuss his preferences and behaviour with them. They were able to inform me how he was each day. We learned from each other so that my relative received the best care possible. He was clean, comfortable and content under their care.
Staff are competent and experienced. Overall experience is generally good. The resident is well cared for in my opinion. Sometimes the cleanliness of the resident's floor is sticky. More activities needed. Better facilities needed.
This is a wonderful nursing home. The friendly hardworking staff are so caring to the residents and visitors. Every time I go there they are always helpful and willing to assist in anything to make life comfortable for my sister and myself when I come to visit. The building and rooms are very clean and cosy, the food is very good and all the staff there are amazing. Thank you Albany Nursing Home for looking after my sister.
My father was in Albany Nursing Home with Parkinson's disease for six years. In all this time he was extremely well looked after; always washed and shaved, always with clean clothes. The home is extremely clean and tidy. The manager and staff are superb, good food as well. There are frequent activities too. The nurse being on duty twenty four seven is brilliant too and the doctor is also available at short notice. Hairdresser and chiropodist etc. visit regularly. All in all, this is a superb home which I would recommend. Lovely rooms and ensuite bathrooms.
Mum was moved to Albany from Hospital under Bed Blocking rules because of this circumstance I was more than ready to look for faults. Instead, I found the professional caring staff from cleaners to nurses and admin. Mum was only there for 5 months but she was content and especially at end of life, well cared for and respected. The staff of all ages communicated and promoted calm.
My husband was in Albany Nursing Home. He was there for sixteen years. He passed away in May. The home was very caring and understanding. The staff were excellent, always there to help you. They would phone me if there was a problem. Management always ready to talk too. Cleaners would also go and talk to him. I can't thank them enough.
My mum was transferred to Albany Nursing Home in March 2021 following an inpatient stay in hospital. The home is warm, clean and welcoming and is excellently managed by the manager. As a family, we were invited to be involved in all elements of my mum's care and were kept informed of all decisions made. The care and level of professionalism shown by all of the staff at Albany is second to none and I never felt rushed whenever I called for an update on my mum. The staff were well informed and happy to share news of her day and how she was eating, sleeping etc. When my mum passed, the staff were amazing. They allowed us time as a family to spend with mum and made us hot drinks and comforted us. They were sensitive to all of our needs and made a very painful time manageable. I would not hesitate to recommend Albany Nursing Home to you for the care of an elderly loved one, particularly one suffering from the awful symptoms of dementia.
My mother has been a resident in Albany Nursing Home since 2013. I can say that she has been well looked after till now. All the members of staff from the the manager to the cleaner has been very caring and supportive to my mother.
Carers were always friendly and helpful. Overall very happy. Some of the resident's clothes were missing and she had clothes in her room that weren't hers. Admin, re invoices, not great. Could never get in touch with the accountant.
I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful care my mother received while she stayed at Albany Nursing Home. The staff were very friendly, and I was impressed as they would keep in contact with me by phone giving me an update on my phone regarding my mum's condition. Nice room and a caring manger. Well done!
The staff and management were supportive and helpful as we transitioned our father from the hospital into their care. They bent over backwards to make everyone involved feel comfortable and settled in the new environment. Our father's health improved daily due to love, care and dedication of all the staff.
From the moment he arrived at Albany House, we felt that he was looked after very well and was always kept informed when any problems arose with his care. The staff on his floor that took care of time showed great empathy and understanding of his illness. We were very grateful for the phone call, which enabled us to be with him when he passed away.
My wife was in Albany Nursing Home for nearly three years, and she was suffering from sheer anxiety (off the scale). I found the staff extremely compassionate and caring, although my wife could be difficult at times. Sadly she passed away at the end of August, and the support that I and the family received was second to none.
