View Full Details of Barrington Lodge Nursing HomeBarrington Lodge Nursing Home operate to a very high standard. The care and compassion is second to none. They keep me fully informed regarding my mothers care. Can highly recommend this nursing home for the way they operate. A very professional outfit. 10 out of 10.
Although my sister was only at the home for a short time for palliative care, I found them to be caring, considerate and also efficient. I would've been quite happy for her to remain there longer had that been the case.
My mother moved into Barrington Lodge Nursing Home in February 2024 and our experience with the home and staff has been fantastic. We could not have asked for better with my mother settling very well and becoming very comfortable with the staff.
I visit my friend on a regular basis and find the staff pleasant and helpful. The receptionist is a credit to the company and makes you feel welcome.
My dad has been at Barrington Lodge for two weeks now. The staff are really hard working and friendly, I'm really glad my dad is at Barrington Lodge, he is a lot happier and a lot more settled than at his last home.
I'm not sure where to start but my father was admitted for end of life care in early August after a stay in a hospice. I myself work in a care home so I tried not to judge too much on first impressions but unfortunately upon my first visit my father was in an extremely small room with peeling wallpaper, a bed that did not work, a room door with a broken handle and nail clippings and hair on the floor from a previous resident and a soiled pad in the drawers. I can only say that had I been able to view the home I absolutely would have not allowed my father to be admitted to Barrington Lodge. My father changed rooms three times and all of those rooms had issues, falls my father had were not reported to me. I could say much more but recalling how my father ended his life there, it is too upsetting. The manager is semi part-time and never there. I am dumbfounded by the CQC Good rating as Barrington Lodge 100 per cent has many serious issues.
Barrington Lodge informed us they had two centres with many rooms available and specialised in end of life care. On arrival, my father was placed in a tiny room. The manager assured the family our father would be moved within two weeks as residents can be moved around to accommodate. Almost three months later our father is still resident in a box room with a broken hospital bed, a door that can only stay open with a chair obstructing, a bell that is rarely in reach of our father and doesn't register to his room, and a small table that is lopsided, causing spillages and is rarely in our fathers reach. There are no facilities for my father, we have placed a TV in his room but it is only turned on when we visit and the controls are never in his reach when we arrive. The room and floor are always sticky. Staff are unaware of our father's needs and do not assist with his food or drink. There are many other issues management does not address. The overall standard in our case is extremely poor but maybe not yours.
Some members of staff are always approachable, others aren't. If a problem, once mentioned to manager, problem dealt with immediately. Laundry to be desired. Clothes muddled and whites end up pink or grey.
Happy with the care.
Good service to mum. Staff are always friendly patient and kind. Always have the residents' interest at heart. Never had any issues or concerns. Mum is always smiling and laughing when I see her.
My dad went into care 2 months ago and this is my first (only) experience of a care home. I was worried but dad's care has overall been excellent.
The home is a lovely home. The staff are very good and helpful. The residents are well looked after. The nursing staff are good. My mother is well taken care of and she is doing ok.
All the family feel very confident in the love and care which our relative receives. We can leave here with great peace of mind.
Mum received excellent care at Barrington Lodge. Thank you to all the staff and management team for looking after mum.
Extremely happy with the care and love my mother receives. I did not experience this in her two previous homes (one residential and one dementia nursing home). I can rest in the knowledge that my mother is also safe and monitored regularly.
The staff here are always friendly they show knowledge of my mother's needs both physical and emotional. I can see that my mother's needs are cared for week after week; she has been here for 10 months. It is always very, very clean and my mother is always clean which is important to her dignity.
I am extremely satisfied with my aunt's health and well-being. It gives me peace of mind knowing she is well cared for. It is important for me at this time as I am dealing with another elderly aunt and juggling both is a challenge if I wasn't assured my aunt is well catered for here.
An excellent place for recovery and care. My stepmother is really happy here.
Lucky to find the place. My youngest son went on the computer to find the best one in Croydon and this was the best place.
My mother moved to Barrington Lodge in November 2017. From the first day I was impresed by the way the head of care and her team ran the home. From front of house, down through the care workers, kitchen staff and cleaners, everyone has treated Mum with care and dignity. Nothing is a problem and the care staff are brilliant. I would recommend Barrington Lodge to anyone, all day long.
