View Full Details of Churchfields Nursing HomeMy uncle needed care and as he knew this care home, I asked if any rooms were available. I was contacted and offered a room, which I accepted sight unseen. His care was outstanding and the care offered to me, as his next of kin, went beyond what was required. My uncle was treated with the utmost respect, a member of staff ensured he had his paper by picking it up for him on her way to work. He was not interested in food but staff did all they could to entice him to eat. He died in August after only having 10 months there, but everyone was so kind and caring, we could not have asked for better. If anyone is looking at this home, our experience was excellent.
My mother was a resident at Churchfields Nursing Home from June 2013 until her death in October 2020. From the outset, I was impressed by the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I was always greeted with a friendly smile and made to feel so welcome. The communal rooms such as the lounges and dining room are bright and cheerful and the building is well maintained. In addition to regular visits to see my mother, I attended several social events such as Christmas parties and barbeques which all help to add to the family atmosphere. The residents are very well cared for by a good number of staff. Due to the length of time my mother lived at Churchfields, I got to know many of the staff very well and I came to feel like a member of an extended family. Over the years my mother was living there she was always shown the utmost care and respect - making it the right place for her to spend the last years of her life. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family.
A really wonderful care/nursing home. They took great care of my husband and made me part of their family. I shall still keep in touch with them all by visiting and by the phone. He was always clean, well dressed and had good food. A good room with ensuite as well.
My mum was in Churchfields for 18-months. She was happy there, and the care staff were excellent. Mum loved the activities, and that the staff always had time to talk to her.
Our mother has recently been a resident at Churchfields. Her stay was quite short as she sadly passed away but I had to review how wonderful her care was in the short time she was there. Churchfields was not our first choice as mum was sent there from hospital to await further assessment. However, after 2 days we realised how fabulous the care was from a dedicated staff. Every time we visited we were immediately offered tea or coffee and mum was constantly checked upon. When I mentioned that her nails were a little long, a carer immediately arrived with manicure set and painted mum’s nails a cheery pink! Sadly mum wanted little to eat or drink but they went out of their way to find something she might like. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursing home and compliment every single member of staff. Thank you for making mum’s last days peaceful.
Friendly and helpful management and friendly and helpful staff constantly ready to provide whatever assistance is needed. That describes the care home side but nursing care is also available on a twenty-four hour basis. I commend this institution fully.
For the whole period my mother-in-law was resident at Churchfields she was happy and very pleased with the degree of care, friendship and assistance that was afforded to her. All the staff were very helpful, thoughtful and willing to freely attend to her needs. The environment was pleasant, the food was good and there were a number of events taking place in which she could participate if she wanted. It's fair to say her every need was catered for. My wife and I were invited to events and we were kept informed of her medical conditions and treatments. Both my mother-in-law and my wife and I felt comforted by knowing she was in good hands.
I would highly recommend Churchfields to my friends and family. The staff are exceptional in their level of care making my Mum's last 7 months of her life very happy. I feel she was cared for as if she were their Mum and the staff were always happy and friendly towards her and the family alike. I made great friendships with the staff and still keep in touch visiting the home just to see the staff now Mum has passed away. From the start they made us feel welcome even down to painting Mum's room the colour she liked, little things make a huge difference to a new resident settling in or not and Mum did. I will always be extremely grateful for the love and care they have for all the residents treating them like family, something not very often found these days. They are unique and will always hold a special place in my heart.
From my experience of the 2 years that my Step Father was in Chuchfields, I must say that he was cared for with much dignity, patience, understanding and kindness. All the staff and management that I ever had contact with were very friendly, polite and always kept me in touch of any developments in my Stepfather's condition. I would unhesitatingly recommend Churchfields Nursing Home to anyone who needed their service.
First impression not great. Looks a little sad and tired. Car park is an asset but houses broken furniture and rubbish in far corner - garden although tidy is not appealing. Window dressing dated and dingy. However, there is a warmth and friendliness inside which is clear for all to see. The staff without exception show kindness and consideration to all. Food seems to be freshly cooked and served whilst hot and appetising. Would like to see a makeover - particularly in the bedroom - which is dark and in need of modernisation.
