View Full Details of Crossways Nursing HomeThe care staff's attention is to be applauded, and nothing is too much trouble to make mum's life comfortable and happy. We could not feel more relieved and happy with the change in her well-being brought about by the change in her environment, excellent nursing care, and wonderful staff. The whole team's kindness, compassion, and perseverance have provided mum with a wonderful new lease of life and incredible support and respite for us as a family. The attention to detail is first-class and there are many activities for mum to participate in which she enjoys. The care home staff think of everything and it is such a lovely place to visit. Thank you!
My mum moved to Crossways Nursing Home in November 2020 during the Covid lockdown period, a far from ideal time. We were very lucky, Crossways couldn't have done more to make us all welcome. Since then, the care and kindness mum has received has been exceptional, covering all aspects of her well-being from practical/personal care to simulation through activities. I have confidence that she is safe and happy, and I am sure she is living the best life she can given her various disabilities.
My aunt has been a resident at Crossways Nursing Home for a few years. She has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease and is sadly at the latter stages, so unable to do anything for herself and is non-verbal now. I visit every week on different days and at different times. She always looks well cared for and comfortable, often having just had her hair done! Everyone who works there is so kind and caring - the very best of carers. Someone is always available to talk to and share any worries or concerns - they show me, and previously my uncle, such kindness and compassion. They always celebrate my aunt's birthday, including a cake with candles! I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone who has a loved one needing residential care. I have peace of mind knowing my aunt is in the very best place possible.
My mum has been a resident of Crossways Nursing Home for nearly two years now, during which time my life has become so much less stressful and easy to manage knowing that she's in such a caring, kind and wonderful place, with an incredible range of activities, events and just general day to day entertainment to give her and the other residents the best possible life. Having attended various events and activities, it's clear to see how much the management and staff care about the residents, which is very comforting and of great peace of mind. I could not recommend Crossways any higher than it's a most wonderful care home. Thank you!
I have a long term connection with Crossways Nursing Home. The care and understanding is so very good. You always get a warm welcome when you enter the home. All the staff from the manager to the cleaners etc will always greet you with a smile and say hello.
I can't praise Crossways Nursing Home enough for all they've done for my mum during the past 18 months. Mum had Alzheimer's and I feel so lucky that she could live at Crossways. The carers were patient and adapted their care to mum's needs brilliantly, keeping her safe and calm. I could pop in whenever I wanted and was always greeted with a smile and familiar faces. Everything the manager said she would do, she did without being chased. The activities team were great and there was music, crafts and outings to enjoy. They included every resident, actively engaging with the local community - schools, nurseries and other care homes. Even the local fire brigade team pop in regularly to visit a retired fireman for a cuppa! When mum passed away, I couldn't fault them. The nursing care was excellent. The team were kind, compassionate and communicated exactly what to expect. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Crossways.
Last year I had to face the decision that it was no longer safe for my aunt to remain in her own home. I visited a number of care homes in the area and knew the minute I walked through the door at Crossways and spoke to the manager that my aunt would be happy and safe. Once there, my aunt never mentioned home again. I cannot thank the manager and the team enough for the kindness and care given to my aunt. The team does go the extra mile and the manager and the team are wonderful.
From the first day Mum went into Crossways Nursing Home we felt comfortable with them taking over her care from the hospital. Staff have always been there close by and always encouraged her. Mum had Lewy Body Dementia and her moods were up and down. The staff all kept us updated on her health. During lockdown, they ensured Mum spoke to me on a regular basis by video call on a member of staff's phone. If Mum was upset she could always speak to me or video call. Right up to her last days, the staff included me on all that was happening. The support I got after her passing was also so much appreciated. I so miss her but also the staff too. You don't realise how much until they are no longer with you.
My mother-in-law had been a resident at Crossways for five years and suffered from Lewy Body dementia. From day one the care and attention she received has been first class. Not only did they care for her but also the members of her family who were always made very welcome during visits. The family were always kept updated with her progress. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law passed away in October and the first-class care she and her family received even after her passing continued. The family have no hesitation in saying that it was very obvious she was loved by all the care staff and management. Thank you to Crossways.
I had to make a very difficult decision to put my younger brother, who has advanced dementia and is only 61 into a nursing home. From the first visit, I was greeted with empathy, understanding and support. The move into Crossways in April 2023 was a huge change for him and also the Crossways staff themselves as they found he was slightly different in his needs as he was so young but they supported me initially with daily phone calls, updates and then with weekly meetings on how he was and dealt with any issues in a very caring, logical and supportive manner. Almost a year on he is so very well cared for, always happy has a wonderful bond with the amazing staff, as l have myself. On each visit, I'm greeted with happy smiles, chat, and news from staff & residents. All the staff from the brilliant manager to the nurses, care staff, activities staff, cooks, and cleaners who all support each other to look after the residents. l know that he is safe and cared for what more could l ask for?
Mum got discharged from hospital to Crossways during Covid; I was extremely lucky she was discharged here. The manager was reassuring to me as I already hadn’t seen my mum for seven weeks and was unable to go inside Crossways too, she explained everything and reassured me about Mum's care; any fears or questions were addressed immediately. Mum has been there over three years now; she is very happy, she is well cared for by all the staff; the atmosphere is a very happy family environment and every resident's well-being and needs are thought about. I highly recommend.
Crossways is such a lovely care home, my mother has been there for over 2 years. The staff are superb, considerate and caring they make sure all the residents are happy. The staff work very hard and keep in touch on a regular basis regarding my mother's care and a monthly newsletter on what they have been doing with the residents. They carry out lots of different activities for the residents. The garden is beautiful and my mother sits out there in the summer with other residents. Would highly recommend Crossways for caring for the elderly. Thank you.
Crossways Nursing Home provided exceptional care for my mother in her final weeks. The kindness and compassion of all the staff were evident from the start, going above and beyond for residents and their families. This genuine care created trust and reassurance. The open-door policy facilitated visits at times which suited our family, easing the transition to nursing home life and allowing me to stay with Mum at the end. I was particularly grateful for the kindness shown to me at this very difficult time. The home has lovely outdoor spaces as well as indoor lounges; unfortunately Mum was bedbound so was not able to enjoy the garden but the staff frequently checked in with her so she was not lonely. Crossways Nursing Home, with its welcoming atmosphere and caring staff, exemplifies excellence in care. It surpasses physical needs, prioritising emotional and social well-being. Crossways is a wonderful place for those seeking compassionate and top-notch care for their loved ones.
Choosing a care home is a very emotional issue but from the moment we entered Crossways we felt very welcome and supported in making this difficult decision, we had looked at other homes but were worried about how personal the care would be. I was very glad that the manager, visited my father at home before he was accepted on a 2 weeks trial. Dad settled in so quickly that we were very relieved when there was a proper vacancy. From the beginning, we found the approach of the staff, at all levels especially two members of staff in particular, so accommodating and helpful. It was as if Dad was in his own home and we were encouraged to personalise his room and encouraged to visit as often as possible, which we did. We felt as if we were part of a family on which our relatives also commented. Although Dad was very near the end of his life, he was encouraged to participate in activities and outings and he was able to enjoy his time. We have no hesitation in recommending Crossways.
We were extremely happy with the care my aunt received at Crossways. We felt that for the last few weeks of her life my aunt was in a supportive and caring environment, where she was seen as a person, not just a care recipient. She went out for trips and received many visitors, exactly what we hoped for when finding a place for her in Crossways. I see the rules prevent names being used, which is a pity, as I must praise the management team at Crossways, and one person in particular, who went out of her way to help us, even to the point of visiting the hospital. It gave us enormous peace of mind to know how well cared my aunt was. Some nursing homes, while being efficient and well-run, are primarily profit-making enterprises where communication and true personal care are lacking. Crossways fortunately is not of that type. I would not hesitate to recommend Crossways to anyone looking for a home where the care is of high quality and the resident is valued as an individual.
The registered manager and her team delivered outstanding care, the commitment, communication, consistency and continuity was absolutely magnificent. All the staff provided compassion, companionship and support for my father while he stayed at Crossways for one week respite care. Navigating dementia is no easy feat and at times it can feel very lonely, not only for the person who has the condition but also for the carer, I learnt a lot through talking to staff, the registered manager and another staff member, they have made a challenging path less daunting and provided much needed respite for my sister and I. There was a lovely family feel to this care home, the dedication, patience, kindness and moreover empathy was wonderful to witness, if I was elderly I would quite happily live my latter years here. Well done everyone!
A home from home. Friendly caring staff who felt like an extension of our family. Dad was well cared for and the staff were very aware of the likes and dislikes of individual residents. When visiting we were always made to feel welcome. Thank you Crossways.
All the staff were very caring with my husband and also the family. He was in twice and was always treated with dignity and respect. The staff were especially caring in his final days and were very considerate to the family. I would not hesitate to recommend Crossways to anybody who is looking for a caring nursing home.
Dad spent two periods in Crossways and was always looked after extremely well by kind and caring staff. Sadly Dad passed away in June and the care in his final days was kind and compassionate. The staff were also kind to us and nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend Crossways to anyone looking for a place for a loved one, either for respite or more long-term.
The way all the staff at Crossways looked after Dad in his final days was so lovely, they were really kind and patient and did their very best to make him comfortable and keep him happy. The management of Crossways is excellent, they were responsive, compassionate and professional at all times. It was a home from home for Dad, and we will be very grateful for their care. Thank you.
