View Full Details of St David's Care HomeRegarding the staff in Activity. Three staff members in particular. I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate the quality of this work. Their performance activity quality is consistently outstanding, exceeding my expectations every time. I am completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service. For example, they use a certain still in dealing with my brother's anxiety. I think my brother is lucky to have those 3 people looking after him.
The staff that deal with our son are absolutely superb, his needs are dealt with professionally with care.
As this has been the only home I have lived in, so I am unable to make a comparison. However, during the 7.75 years, I have been here, there is an ongoing problem with losing items in the laundry, which have my room number on.
I find that the staff to be doing their job to the best of their ability and training most of them, especially day staff are very transparent in what they are going, always trying their best for the residents to give comfort and care. They are very kind in listening to families' historical backgrounds of the resident in order to create the most needed atmosphere for the residents to live in. They are also very respectful and prepared to take ad-hoc measures in the case of need, like when residents are agitated or in discomfort.
Cheerful, competent staff and comfortable premises.
There are not enough permanent staff. There is not enough contact between me and another friend of the resident and the staff, both carers and management. We are her closest friends, family distant and far away.
Wonderful staff, caring and compassionate. Everyone is very kind and warm and looks after my father with dignity and respect.
We have found the staff really helpful and friendly, can't do enough to help. The premises are clean, and we always see people cleaning. The rooms are lovely with everything you need. The food is really nice and varied, so there is something for everyone. They have been very accommodating to our Mum's needs and to our family's visits.
My brother has been a resident of St David's for many years. I visit as often as I can as I am not from the UK. I have always found them most welcoming, and the care he receives is excellent. Staff are very helpful, and they treat him with dignity. When Covid happened in March 2020, I was worried. I couldn't visit or even travel to see him. Staff were very reassuring, provided me with weekly and sometimes twice weekly Skype calls to my brother. This allowed us to see each other at least virtually during this difficult time, which was really great. The manager provided weekly updates by email, and when I could visit in July 2021, it was wonderful to see how well he was looked after. We were both so happy to see each other again. Covid restrictions continued into 2021, and visits were limited. Staff are very kind and recognise and understand my brother's care needs. He can ring me whenever he needs to. I would certainly recommend St David's.
My mother has been a resident at St David's for two years. She suffered a brain injury and does not have mental capacity. She cannot communicate very well and is extremely vulnerable as a result. I feel the care she receives at St David's is outstanding. Despite some reliance on agency staff, many members of the St David's team have worked there for years. All staff (new and old) have been very caring, patient and kind to my mother; they know her very well and treat her with respect. Importantly, this has been consistent throughout. They are helpful and courteous to me and keep me informed of any issues or changes related to my mother's wellbeing. After years of being unsettled elsewhere, my mother is now settled, and I feel confident she is receiving the care she deserves. I am so very grateful for St David's and highly recommend it.
My friend is physically weak but mentally strong. She is known by name, treated with dignity, kept aware of what is happening with regards to management and proposed activities. She is involved with activities, which are varied and provided by staff, volunteers and visiting groups of entertainers. There is a close (but entirely optional) connection with the local Parish Church. I know two other folks here who are now mentally challenged and are well cared for. I cannot comment on value for money as we do not discuss it.
My mother has been attending daycare at St David's Home for the past few months between one and three days per week. The staff are always so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Mum loves going to St David's Home and feels very comfortable and secure there. There are a lot of varied activities during the day, and she receives lots of stimulation, socialisation and is very happy being there.
My experience of St David's Home is that the staff are caring and well trained. I also feel that they are proactive in their approach and very helpful. My sister feels comfortable, and someone is always at hand to offer assistance. The room is a fair size and bright with good light, and the grounds are also green, beautiful to look out on. Yes, I would recommend it.
I was very happy to see how he is being treated, by the team of nurses. The place looks clean, and the staff are friendly and caring.
My experience with the care home has been very good. They are so nice and helpful to my nan. They are always there for her and help her in so many ways. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a place for their loved ones to go.
My mum came into St David's at the end of January 2021. Since being here, she has received the best care here. All of the nurses and staff are always very friendly and warm. My mum has settled in really nicely, and her health has improved as well with the loving care of the wonderful nurses.
St David's continues to provide a safe and caring environment for my mother. The staff are always welcoming and extremely friendly and have the well-being of all residents at the centre of everything they do.
Rooms and all other areas excellent. Provision of additional service eg, physiotherapy, chiropodist, hairdresser and activities excellent. Physio and activities, particularly excellent.
My Husband was at St David's for 15months after 4months of home nursing following a terminal cancer diagnosis (brain Tumour). It was such a shock to us, we had never envisaged he would ever be in a Nursing Home. After being bed-ridden for 4months, within days the staff had him in a wheelchair which greatly improved the quality of his time. It meant we could wheel him into the lovely gardens and go together to the numerous activities provided. It was all completely alien to us and did take a while to get accustomed to but the staff were unfailingly kind and supportive to my husband, myself and our children. The carers were just that, caring. If I ever felt that care fell below this standard there was a process to talk about it although this only happened on a couple of occasions and I felt I was listened to, explanations were given and appropriate action taken. St David's did become a home to the whole family.
