View Full Details of Folkestone Nursing HomeIn 2019 my mother entered the nursing home. She was then more alert, responsive to stimuli and involved in activities. We were all better informed about her activities by the previous activities coordinator who sent us picture and videos of her engaging in painting parties and dance at present. I do not know what she is doing (if anything) or how she is spending her time. Her dementia has progressed so she is withdrawn and confused, I would also like to see if she is also having any good time. The premises have been improved in those years, walls painted, drawings added, new chairs provided. The staff are approachable, informed keep to help and caring. She looks at ease, better looked after than we could possibly do.
I'm more than happy with the care and attention my mum receives. The staff are so kind and affectionate towards my mum and the attention to detail that goes into my mum's care and well-being makes me very happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, Folkestone Nursing Home.this place is simply the best forget about all the rest
My mum is being looked after very well here. The staff are very professional and friendly.
On the 11th of December, my aunt was placed into the care home by Newham Council and the reviews were quite mixed. On visiting the care home I was introduced to the management and care team. Having been to the home on many occasions now I can say this is a first call home. Everybody is there to help and has approached me on every visit offering help and support. A first-class care home I would highly recommend it.
My friend was very happy to be there. The staff were very attentive towards him. Every time I visited him, he was clean, shaven, and smart with clean clothes. Plus his bedding was changed regularly. His clothes were always washed, pressed and put neatly in his wardrobe. The staff always tried to encourage him to eat and if he didn't like certain foods, they would always try to find some alternative. The staff were always smiling and would give him a little wave when they went passed his room - only a small gesture, but, this made him feel happy and at home. If I had any questions to ask the staff about his medical care, they were always happy to give me a complete answer. The staff were very caring, attentive and very helpful. I felt he was safe and happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, Folkestone Nursing Home.

Up until August 2024 this place was unsatisfactory. The present manager started in August and things have slowly started to improve. Obviously there are still improvements to be made, and I was at one time going to move my father from there, but owing to the new manager overseeing a lot of mistakes made in the past, I'm allowing him to stay.
I am so pleased that mother is no longer a resident at this "care" facility. My mum spent just over three years here, in which time there was very little access to any activities due to there being no coordinator for the majority of the time. The residents just sat around in a TV room all day with very little interaction. The place was dingy and shabby as well. On numerous occasions, I would find my mum soiled and in discomfort. I also found untaken medication in her bed or on the floor. As there was no appropriate outdoor space. My mum didn't go outside for the whole time she resided there. Eventually, my mum had numerous falls and no one could explain how this happened. My mother has brittle bones. A male nurse was seen praying in my mum's room with his bag of clothes. My mum doesn't speak. Both the local authority and the CQC investigated and chose to believe the manager's lies, he denied everything. There is no CCTV. I pity anyone who has a relative or loved one living there.
