View Full Details of Galsworthy House Nursing HomeMy husband was having a month of respite care The staff were polite and caring I do think he was left too much on his own in his room and was not stimulated enough I therefore had to take up this job which didn't give Me the respite I needed
My mother initially stayed at Galsworthy House for respite and was very happy there. She returned home, but when her health deteriorated and needed 24-hour care, I had no hesitation in her returning to Galsworthy House on a permanent basis to be cared for by professional medical staff and carers. I felt rest assured that Mum would be looked after. The staff and management are so caring and Mum has been made to feel at home. Mum has a good rapport with the carers, nurses and hospitality team and nothing is ever too much trouble to ensure mum is happy and comfortable. There are daily activities available and Mum enjoys playing Bingo, which is something she looks forward to twice a week. It's lovely to have the coffee lounge where we can sit with Mum during our visits, have a cup of tea and spend quality time with her. The care home is kept very clean. Overall I am very pleased with the standard of care Mum is receiving.
My mum originally came to Galsworthy House for respite after an illness. She settled well and was cared for by all the staff. Since October 2024 Mum returned and became a resident, I feel fortunate to have found her a care home within a caring environment. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help in any way they can. Some even say "It's like being with my grandparents". I feel happy leaving my mum in such a warm and caring place. There is a lovely coffee lounge where you can help yourself to coffee, pastries, biscuits and fruit. We use these facilities often as Mum loves to come down and chat and enjoy a cup of tea with her family. She enjoys many activities especially playing bingo with the other residents and loves joining in with singing. Overall, I and my mum are very happy. Thank you.
The care at Galsworthy is excellent, all the staff are so kind and genuinely look after residents like they are at home. I feel so reassured knowing that my beloved Mum is safe, well fed and properly cared for. When you can no longer care for a parent yourself as their needs increase and they need 24-hour care in a warm and loving environment, Galsworthy is second to none. You couldn't find a kinder more hard-working team of nurses, carers and overall team.
My mother stayed at Galsworthy House for respite after a hip operation. The staff who cared for her went above and beyond to make sure she was well looked after, and nothing was too much trouble. Her room was clean, spacious with a lovely view over Richmond Park. On a few occasions, we went down to the coffee lounge where you can have tea, coffee or hot chocolate. There is also a selection of cakes. Thank you so much for making my mother so comfortable during her recovery. Kind regards.
I recently stayed at Galsworthy House after a minor operation for convalescence. I knew from the moment I met the manager that it would be the ideal place for me. She was so friendly and welcoming. All the staff were most friendly and efficient. The care and facilities were excellent. The food was great and the chef willingly prepared alternatives for me due to my food intolerances. There were various daily activities. The icing on the cake for me was the 'cafe' where I could help myself to a latte ' from the machine and a biscuit or some fruit and curl up in a very comfortable armchair with a book.
My mother is visiting The UK. She tripped and fell and was rushed to the hospital. After being discharged from the hospital she was admitted for respite care to Galworthy House for three weeks. The care is exemplary! There is kindness and empathy and my mother is being looked after by caring and professional staff. They are helpful and always there to help when needed. I would highly recommend the facility to anyone who wants their loved ones looked after with the same compassion and care you would give them!
My 95-year-old mother has been a resident at Galsworthy House since February 2024. She has been provided excellent care at Galsworthy. The staff are caring, friendly and cheerful. Her room is always kept very clean. It is never an easy decision to move a loved one but Galsworthy has surpassed our expectations.
My mother has been in the nursing home for six weeks and has settled in well. The staff are all very nice and helpful. There are activities and entertainment daily.
My mother spent the last two weeks of her life here and I was very happy with the way the nurses and carers looked after and respected her. Her room was bright and airy and had patio doors leading onto a terrace area. (It would have been nicer if the pots had been planted out.) I arrived a few minutes after my mother died, but two carers with there holding her hand and reading to her which was a comfort to both her and me. The staff are all very kind.
Friendly and comfortable. Homely.
Our family could not be happier with the wonderful care provided to our mother who has significant medical needs. The home is very clean, and comfortable with great facilities for residents and family members. My young daughter was unwilling to visit Mum in hospital, but loves it at the home and is very happy that her grandma is being so well cared for. The staff are meticulous in their attention to Mum’s personal and medical needs. They seem to have endless patience when feeding her, and administering personal care. The team members we deal with have been warm and empathetic, providing support to Mum and emotional support and guidance to us. They keep us up to date, and tell us what to expect, which reaffirms our impression that they are well experienced and very skilled. The atmosphere is warm, and I can see every effort is made to treat the residents with care, dignity and respect. I will always be grateful for the way the home has looked after us all at this important time.
I’ve been regularly visiting a resident for the last year. She initially came following surgery, but has felt so well looked after that she decided to stay indefinitely. The site is easy to get to, with free visitor parking. It’s a beautiful building. From the moment you arrive you feel at home. The door is kept locked for residents’ protection and you’re always greeted warmly when you arrive. The recent renovation is homely and smart. Everything is kept clean, with no unpleasant smells! The care she has received has been very good. Occasionally one of the carers doesn’t listen to how she likes to take her shower, but otherwise they’ve been kind and respectful. The nurses are excellent and have built up a lovely rapport with her. As have the other staff, including the wonderfully warm and friendly hospitality manager. There is a regular physio, who comes weekly and works wonders with her mobility and confidence, as well as a lovely hairdresser. Would highly recommend!
My brother only stayed at Galsworthy for a few days. But, from being very unwell and in a state of confusion and discomfort for the previous 4 weeks, during his final days, he found himself in a calm, relaxing, and caring environment. It was not only a beautiful location with its perfect vibe (both for patients and for visitors) but the staff and facilities were outstanding. I understand he finally was able to relax and, sadly, passed away with carers who seemed to care. Thank you Galsworthy House! We are so happy that he was able to stay with you.
We are really pleased with and grateful for the quality of care provided to my mum who was discharged here after a severe stroke. The staff are attentive, caring and extremely professional. The team have gotten to know my mum and our wider family quickly, and are always keen to do what they can to make all of us, including Mum, comfortable and calm at a very difficult time. They are always well-informed about her up-to-date condition and anticipate her needs. We are being kept well informed, and feel very comfortable that we can ask as many questions as we have. The room itself is very clean and comfortable, and Mum’s personal care needs are being met and maintained to a really high standard. We have been really impressed that the quality of care and commitment is high across every level of the team, including the night team. The staff work really hard, without complaint and always seem to be in good humour. Overall, we are so thankful to everyone who is supporting us all.
When my husband was moved here I was very worried about how things would turn out for him. I need not have worried, everything went well, the staff were nice (they are the most important thing in my opinion) all other things like rooms, and services to him, he seems to have settled. I really miss him but it gives me a little peace of mind to see how well things have turned out, of course, he does not want to be away from his own home but I hope he will be able to take it all in his stride. Thanks to all who are looking after him.
My mother has advanced Alzheimers. Unable to communicate and no longer able to walk. We always had concerns about her stay at Galsworthy House. Has a weird eerie feeling to the whole place. After we took my mother out of the care home, we discovered that male carers were involved in providing both routine and intimate care. This represented a huge violation! Here a person trapped in her mind because of her Alzheimer’s had to put up with male carers touching her! Can you think of a worse nightmare? We attempted to address this matter through various channels, including direct communication with the care home. Regrettably, our concerns were not adequately addressed or resolved.
They have the most lovely and kind staff here who clearly care about the residents and are great at their job. There are also lots of great activities available for everyone. I would definitely recommend this care home.
When I was first looking for somewhere to take care of my husband I didn’t know the first thing to do, so many to view but I’m so glad I found this one. The staff are so friendly and very attentive to my husband's needs also which I found that they are very respectful as growing old you seem to lose your place in society but not here, everybody is made to feel welcome, they work hard to include you in the daily activities, keeping the mind busy is a must. The food looks absolutely amazing. I’ve got this place earmarked if I ever need it, also on the other note health is monitored on a regular basis they record it on his notes and appointments are dealt with it is definitely a home-from-home.
I cannot praise the home enough. The carers are amazing, mum is well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are very responsive with queries, or questions I may have. I would like to see Mum attend outings more apart from that very pleased with Galsworthy House. Keep up the good work.
