View Full Details of Greville HouseMy experience at the Greville House Care Home on the whole is an excellent one, in which my mother was adopted into the family at Greville House and was treated in a manner with sensitivity and professionalism. There is never too much trouble and is always with a smile.
Mum has been here nearly 2 years. I visit a few times a week, everyone is always so kind and friendly. Mum is well looked after it's like a hotel, wonderful food, good entertainment and any treatment needed is sorted out quickly.
My 95-year-old mum who has dementia is treated amazingly, wonderful as I am when visiting mum. The team led by the manager are one big happy family. We as a family are more than happy as Mum living there although sad for us is treated with dignity respect and outstanding care. They also have a great activity team although mum doesn't always want to participate she is always asked and encouraged. We mentioned on Tuesday that Mum's chest of drawers was sticking, when we visited today there was a new chest of drawers and wardrobe in her room. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot thank this amazing team enough.
This is the best Christmas I have had in a very long time at Greville House. The staff really went out of their way to make it a special Christmas day. The chef and his staff made sure the food was excellent, as it always is. Activities was 100%.
My aunt spent the last four months of her life in nursing care at Greville House, mostly in palliative care. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. They were ready to do what was needed, without fussing about formalities. The nursing staff were very attentive and worked closely with the regular doctor to ensure that my aunt was as comfortable as possible and was sympathetically treated at a difficult time.
We live near Manchester and it is so reassuring to see how well cared for my parents-in-law are. All staff make Greville House feel so very welcoming. It feels like a home from home. We also enjoy seeing the posts on social media - I feel like I know the other residents. Thank you so very much for all the care you give - words cannot express how much it means to us.
I am 91 years of age and have been in the care home since March of this year. Directly I arrived here and felt completely at home in a warm and comfortable environment. The staff here are very attentive and friendly and do their best to cater for all my needs.
I want to say how impressed I am by the care given to one of your clients by your activities coordinator. She displays compassion, patience and professionalism at all times. Many Thanks.
My neighbour was sent to Greville House for a few weeks while he was found somewhere more suitable (still there). When we first visited everyone seemed nice. After a few visits and raising a few concerns things changed. I have spoken to the Manager once so mainly deal with the deputy. We are my neighbour's next of kin but we're not being informed about health issues or hospital admissions. He has no interaction with anyone. His health and personality are fast deteriorating which is heartbreaking to see. My main concern is how basic and dirty my neighbour's room is. The walls are soiled, and the chair next to his bed has got so many old dried-in bodily fluids it turns your stomach. He has open electric cables behind his bed, the place is a health and safety concern. The place is very formal, no friendly staff. I am trying my hardest to get my neighbour out as soon as possible. The place needs a deep clean and soiled furniture thrown out. I have informed the head office and the Quality Care Commission
Greville House provides a sympathetic and understands my needs, both physical and mental. It is a comprehensive source of help, which fully meets my needs. The staff are well trained and understanding of my situation. There is a comprehensive programme of activities which benefit me and so I see the other residents. The living facilities are excellent. The sense of community is supported and an important part of my treatment.
Since Mum has been at Greville House she has gained a new lease of life. She is always busy with clubs and activities and has made many new friends, her health has improved too.
We arrived at Greville House in March 2022 as an emergency respite resident, which has turned permanent. It was the best decision my sister and I made as Mum is safe and very well cared for. Her carers are so kind and patient and are always happy to chat and give updates on how Mum has been. The team have such experience and know how to anticipate our mum's needs. You have to be a particular kind of person to undertake care work and the world would be a better place if every care home had staff like those at Greville House.
Excellent care home in Richmond.
Staff and residents alike have been very friendly and welcoming to both my brother (resident) and his family. Management and staff have continuously given great communication with family. The environment is always clean and tidy with lovely outdoor space. We will definitely be visiting with our thanks and appreciation.
I just want to say what an excellent job the staff did with my father. An excellent shave and motivated him to eat and a fantastic haircut.
I am well cared for and am supported.
I have been treated very well. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Four staff members in particular.
I visit daily because I live nearby. My wife has been a resident for nearly three years. The staff are kind, respectful and hard working. There is always a happy atmosphere in the place, which says a lot about the management. Good food and good facilities. I see this every day. Thank you!
1) Chaotic staff. Management, reminiscent of a TV comedy e.g. residents at the table waiting to be served lunch were treated to a stand-up row between the manager, deputy manager, and nurse about a new resident's condition! Very unprofessional, but typical! 2) Food menu is unbalanced. Had to ask the chef for fruit and a full breakfast and for something other than cake for pudding. 3) My requests to speak to a nurse, when I was unwell, were not taken seriously and over-the-counter medicine was refused.
My only complaint is that the vegetables are always overcooked.
