View Full Details of Hayes Cottage Nursing HomeFrom the first day, my mum was always very well cared for. She got on exceptionally well with all the staff, who always had time for her. They always made sure she was well dressed and her hair brushed. She loved to join in all the different available activities. We would always find her with a smile on her face when we went to visit and often would laugh and joke with the staff. As a family, we felt reassured that she was being well cared for at all times. Thank you.
From start to finish everyone was so kind and helpful in getting my brother in, settled and wonderfully cared for during his year here. The staff went above and beyond continuously to make sure that not only were his physical needs attended to but kept him in such an emotionally stable place too. Right up until his passing the support and care given to both of us was exceptional. I shall be forever grateful.
Staff are welcoming, kind and appear caring. They encourage residents to join in activities and sessions. Food is ok but could be better, those not in the dining room are not asked what they want and food is served plated. Desserts are awful, main meals are ok but could be better as meat is tough and everything is covered in gravy even when it is not wanted.
Nice staff, helpful. Try to encourage residents to participate in activities. Do some chair exercises/activities with residents. Food is rubbish and could be a lot better. Meals are not well presented or thought out for example recent Pork had no apple sauce or stuffing balls.
After being slightly nervous about Dad being put in a home, which I would imagine most people would think that way. This home has given my father back his dignity, he is looked after 24 hours a day by a dedicated team of professionals. My family and I can't thank them enough for everything they have done, but most importantly, they have given him a quality of life that we could not give him at home.
My wife came first and I was so pleased with the entire home, I wanted to be with her as she was so poorly. I moved in temporarily to be with her until she sadly passed away last week. I cannot fault the care provided, friendly staff, kindness and happiness throughout. I found the simple meals so beautiful, I enjoyed them all and the fresh fruit and the odd glass of wine were a regular treat. The activities provided were great but couldn't always be there as I was comforting my wife. I will be moving out to be with my son in sheltered accommodation next month but when the time comes and I will need a nursing home I will be coming straight back to Hayes Cottage.
My husband has been here since late December 2023. As in all care/nursing homes, it takes time for residents to settle in. I was never one to voice my opinion but while here, management and staff encouraged me to say how things were. So with their help, assistance and assurance, together we got things sorted out and now my husband is settled and I feel confident to take days out for myself knowing he is being well cared for. I cannot praise all the management and staff enough. Thank you all so very much.
My wife received the very best care during her three months at Hayes Cottage Nursing Home. The staff were caring, sympathetic and courteous at all times. They treated my wife with dignity and welcomed us as a family when we visited. The home was spotlessly clean, the food was good and the activities well planned. The home is a credit to the management and staff. Thank you for taking such good care of my wife.
I have been a resident in Hayes Cottage since last February for rest and recuperation after a missed diagnosis from the hospital. Finally being here a member of staff followed it through and had major surgery. This required weekly appointments ongoing for the past six months, luck enough the management supported me so well and hopefully will be able to return home in a month or two. The resident's liaison manager has been an extremely good assistant, most helpful, thank you.
My sister has been under the care of Hayes Cottage for a number of years, during that time she has gone from strength to strength and now during her senior years looks healthier than she has ever! We always find the staff happy, helpful and so friendly, showing compassion to my sister with a great warmth and bond between resident and staff. We are so very grateful to you all at every level and so happy in the knowledge she is in the best hands.
I have visited my friend on a weekly basis. The home and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The staff welcome me. The home is clean and tidy. Residents are always doing activities, going out and enjoying their time. Cannot fault this home at all.
Mum had always insisted she wouldn't ever go into a home but, following a time in the hospital and with her dementia progressing, Dad was unable to provide the 24-hour care she needed. With the support of social services, a place was found at Hayes Cottage. I have always found the staff helpful and friendly and, best of all, Mum seems content and enjoys the activities. From the family's point of view, she is safe and all her health needs are looked after. The staff keep us informed and any medical decisions are discussed fully with us so that the best solution for Mum can be found. There is a homely, friendly atmosphere and everywhere is clean and gives a pleasant environment. They provide social activities, which Mum enjoys. Hayes Cottage and, more importantly, their staff, have made the move something we have never regretted and it is great to see how settled Mum is in her home.
The staff in Primrose are amicable and have a good relationship with my aunt. We are always welcome when we visit her in Primrose. We also ring frequently to get updates on her health. If something happened day or night the nurse in charge rings me to let me know, and also asks my permission for inoculations. The staff, the manager, and administrators are very courteous to us.
As a family we can only give the highest praise to Hayes Cottage Nursing Home, in particular the Primrose Ward, where we spent most of our time. The nurses and carers were just amazing, the compassion and care shown to my husband was exemplary. The home has a lovely friendly atmosphere, all staff from management, dining room team and even the maintenance staff - all incredible. We thank you for your care from the bottom of our hearts!
I like that my mum is included in all events. I enjoy watching and hearing about all the things she has done. When she was ill, I loved that on her return staff and residents welcomed her back as if she was one of their own family members. Even to the point of staying till she arrived back safely. It's important the staff recognise my mother’s needs and that they are met. I would say mostly all is good. In the times if something is amiss, in my knowledge steps have been taken quickly to resolve. Thank you.
I have been visiting my mother who has been in care at Hayes Cottage Nursing Home for some time now. The care provided has been to a high standard as you would expect. There are many activities daily to keep residents entertained such as board games, arts, and crafts, music and dancing with visits to parks and river boats to name a few. The care home environment is very pleasant, modern and maintained clean and tidy at all times, with private rooms. Food is catered for individual needs from breakfast to dinner. Outside there is a large lawn-laid garden with garden furniture. All staff are very pleasant and easy to converse with.
I came to Hayes Cottage Nursing Home for respite care in July 2022 after an operation, have been unable to go home so still here. I enjoy the parties and celebrations and had a lovely trip out in the summer on a boat trip and we had a picnic too. If I need anything I always have someone to talk to and help in any way. I'm happy to be here and I enjoy having a glass of wine or two.
My grandad was taken to the nursing home for end-of-life care. We couldn't of asked for anyone from the staff, friendly, compassionate, caring, they made sure Grandad was well looked after and made sure he was ok, they put beds up for us, so we could stay with Grandad in his last hours. Thank you Hayes Nursing Home for all you have for us.
I can't thank the Hayes team enough for the way they looked after my mum for the final few months of her life. They were fantastic and professional in every way. I would also like to say a particular thank you to three staff members and the whole of the staff on Primrose. Thank you all from myself and all of my family.
My wife and I are so pleased to see our friend looking so well and happy in Hayes Cottage Nursing Home. We were neighbours and good friends for 35 years. She looks so much happier since she has been here for the last 8 months. Thank you all so much for looking after our friend.
