View Full Details of Heatherwood Care CentreOur mum is receiving a great support as always. When we visit mum, we see the nice things. Well supported team members. One of the staff who helped mum today was very kind and respectful with dignity for out meal. Great pleasure to see such kind, well supportive staff. Thank you.
The care is very good everyone caring and kind.
We are very happy with the care our dad receives. He likes it here and is content. The staff are all very helpful and friendly.
The manager who does the absolute minimal in terms of customer-facing care ignored my emails on more than one occasion, and still hasn't replied 4 months later!. No reassurance, energy or enthusiasm when I have spoken with her. The nursing staff is very considerate and knowledgeable. Care Assistants are helpful, although they often have limited knowledge of the resident's likes and dislikes. Internet is very poor, even phone calls lose reception, or crackle during a call. The garden is very high-fenced. No views across any horizon which is important for reality and calming by my relative. Feels hemmed in.
Very good overall experience, she enjoyed everything
Mum was very happy here. All the staff are very nice and friendly. I will be very happy for my Mum to come back in the future.
Since my husband has been at Heatherwood Care Centre, he seems to be happy and settled. He often talks about the staff being kind and friendly.
Majority of staff are kind, considerate and caring. A few prefer to be on their mobiles than look after/interact with residents. The main problem is that English is not the staff s first language which makes understanding difficult for visitors but especially difficult for their clients. the manager is always supportive. The day room is drab and dreary and the curtains are always closed. My husband's room is functional but very narrow and characterless with a very small metal locker used as a wardrobe. The home is very clean. the garden is well maintained. My husband enjoys the food. I find this home small and cramped, dull and claustrophobic rather than bright, airy, cheerful and spacious. Not worth the obscene amount of money we're paying.
Heatherwood Care Centre has provided my husband with care and attention over the past year. I have been more than satisfied with his care and the staff are outstanding.
We are well informed of what mum has been doing or not doing. We are kept informed with updates and emails and the newsletter, enabling us to see what Mum has been up to. We usually receive a warm welcome and information shared before Mum is brought to us. It's nice that the manager always comes to say hello too. The carers all seem pleasant and attentive. It is a shame that we have to sit in a small room when visiting and it would be nice if we could see Mum's room.
Dad has settled in so well at Heatherwood Care Centre. All the staff are very attentive and polite and it is so nice to know that Dad is well looked after.
I am very happy here. I enjoy the activities. I feel safe, and well looked after.
Very friendly staff who take the time to chat. Various activities planned to keep the residents busy. Music is usually played in the main lounge or outside when the weather is good enough to sit in the large back garden. The food always looks lovely and the quantities are very good. I like the fact that the lounge and bedrooms are carpeted as it makes it more homely. It is a modern, clean and spacious nursing home.
Very friendly staff, always show a lot of care for mum. I always feel mum is safe and happy every time I visit. I would always recommend Heathwood to anyone looking for a good care home for their loved ones.
The staff are very caring and they treat my mum with dignity. They have lots of activities.
The nursing home is very well run, the staff are always kind and caring and look after my sister well and according to her needs. I am very happy with my sister being here.
My mother-in-law has only been here a few weeks and she can be difficult and demanding but since being a resident here she seems much happier and calmer than she has been.
It's early day's, however, what I have seen so far is very good. I am impressed with how well the home is managed. The carers are very good and they definitely care about their residents. My brother is happy and relaxed in the home which is a huge relief to me. I would recommend this nursing home.
My friend has not been in Heatherwood for long yet, so my experience of his care etc. is limited. My impression is that the staff are very pleasant and caring and do their best with my friend, who is a lovely person, but can be difficult to manage and entertain. Having said that, I think that sometimes (not always) the policy seems to be to contain the residents (albeit in a friendly and caring way) rather than try to expand or enhance their experience each day. I recognise that many of the patients, including my friend, have dementia at varying stages of severity, and this limits what diversions can be reasonably offered, so this may be an unfair comment. Overall I think this appears to be a well run, nice nursing home and I do not have any worries about whether my friend is safe and cared for.
I am so happy that my mum is very well looked after. The staff are excellent, friendly and very understanding. From management to nurses, care staff, I can't thank you enough. My mum is so happy which makes me happy. Thanks to you all.
