View Full Details of The Hornchurch Care HomeMy aunt was only in the care home for a short time before she passed away but we could not fault the care and compassion of every member of staff, not only to my aunt but her two sisters aswell. She was only in there a short time but we felt she was well looked after and treated with dignity. The whole care home was always clean whenever we visited and the food looked delicious. Our family would like to thank all of the staff for their kindness.
We did not want our sister to have to go into a care home but we could not have asked for more. The staff were not only lovely to my sister but also to my other sister and me. We are so grateful that they made her last days so comfortable and bearable.
The staff are excellent with looking after my Dad. They have respected his wish to not have the hoist used to allow him to be in the lounge so that he can remain in his room where he is happy. The facilities are very good even though he does not use as many as he used to. He enjoys the food and the chance to watch his own programs on the TV. The staff ensures that his hygiene is as good as he will allow them.
I have found the staff at the care home very efficient, kind and professional. The staff will help and assist in any way they can. The care home is kept very clean and all patients' clothing kept clean to a high standard. My many thanks to all staff.
I was shown round the care home by a very friendly nurse. I found the home to be very homely, caring and extremely clean. The rooms look very comfortable and I like the whole complex. I should imagine my mum would like this home very much.
I am very pleased and grateful that my wife is in this care home. She could not be in a better place. Well done to the gardener for all the floral decorations and the garden. Lovely. Sincerest thanks to all the staff.
My mum seems happy and is well looked after. I am kept up to date with her care. Staff and management always available to speak to.
The team at Hornchurch could not have been more accommodating and made the process of moving Mum quickly into her new home so simple. They found a solution to every hurdle.
My mother-in-law has only just arrived here, so far I'm very happy with all staff and her care.
From the moment I was shown around the home, I felt this would be the place for my elderly relative. The environment was welcoming, clean with a pleasant aroma of home-cooked food. Every member of staff we encountered was caring, knowledgable and keen to listen. My mother was efficiently settled into her room and the staff quickly learned about her medical conditions. I felt my mother was safe and secure and I had good access. I highly recommend this home.
Our mother has been a resident at HC1 The Hornchurch for 6 years. She is beautifully cared for by all the staff. We are always greeted warmly by staff who are very approachable, informative, caring, polite and professional. Thank you for everything you do.
Family member who came to Hornchurch Care Home were instantly made very welcome. The nurses, carers and everyone involved in his care are great. He very much enjoyed his stay here and was very sad to leave.
My mum has happily settled in and is getting good care. She is eating and drinking better and enjoying a lovely variety of activities.
Our mum came to the Hornchurch Care Home in April 2021 and has been wonderfully cared for by an amazing team of people, from the nurses to the carers, laundry team, cleaners and cooks. We couldn't have asked for more an we would like to thank everyone at the home for the love and care that was given to Mum. You are all very special people - thank you.
All very kind and helpful.
Mum was in the home for palliative care which ended with her passing on 26th January 2024. Staff and care were efficient and caring. Any issues were dealt with promptly. All the family are grateful that Mum's final week was comfortable.
My father had the worst time in this home (I can't even call it a care home). He has Alzheimer's and his behaviour can be challenging but the home has a dementia unit and assured us they could cope with his needs. The staff could not cope with his needs. My father's room was small, ill-equipped and constantly sticky. He was constantly left for hours on end. His bed and clothing were frequently soiled and wet. Within weeks of him arriving here, it was clear that the home could not cope and the staff were completely overwhelmed. There was incident after incident and nobody was on hand to provide any information. The management were never available to provide support to us - we were so disappointed. I recommend anyone to think very carefully before considering this home. He has now been moved.
I would like to thank every member of staff for looking after my father. The care he got was outstanding. God bless every one of you.
Amazing, marvellous, wonderful! My father was in a local hospice and could not return home after being discharged from there as we could not cope with his needs at home. Naturally, we, as a family, were concerned whether this care home would be good enough but after a couple of days, our minds were at peace that it was the right place for Dad. Everyone was friendly...admin, laundry, nursing, carers and even the cooks whom we met with at some point! They all treated Dad with dignity and respect. He was kept comfortable and out of pain. When his appetite waned and he wanted egg and chips instead of the usual lunch, it was not a problem. A call was made to the kitchen and 20 minutes later a plate of very hot and well-cooked egg and chips arrived. The food was all good and plentiful. A timetable in his room of all the daily activities. Clean, good-sized room. If you are looking for a care home for a loved one, this is well worth a visit. Well done and thank you to everyone who looked after Dad.
My relative was neglected here. She was bedbound, unable to move or speak. The staff could not cope with her needs. The building itself is not fit for purpose. The windows hardly open, and there is no aircon. My relative's room was tiny, ill-equipped and excessively hot. She was discharged here without my consent. Within minutes of arriving, it was clear the home could not cater for her needs. It was also clear the lack of staff could not cope with the sheer number of people needing care there. The nurses/care assistants severely lack appropriate training and leave people buzzing for help, they are overwhelmed. I witnessed people crying out for someone to help them, as they were about to wet themselves or worse. At this time all the staff had vacated the floor for a team meeting in the manager's office. I recommend anyone to inspect this home multiple times at different times of day/night to be sure you want to leave someone you care about here. If I could leave zero stars I would.
