View Full Details of Jansondean Residential HomeJansondean has made my mum welcome and looked after her. Especially when she first moved in and she was getting used to a new environment. They were very patient, understanding, and caring. Which we appreciated. She loves her room, the view of the garden, and her food. She is content and happy here.
I cannot praise this home and its staff enough, I was very apprehensive when I had to look for a home for my uncle as I had previously had a very bad experience with my Dad who was not well cared for. I have yet to meet a member of staff who I don't like and they all deserve praise as they all care and engage with the residents and it's the same whatever time you turn up unannounced. So pleased I picked Jansondean.
Our Mum has been in the home since September last year and has settled in well. That is due to the outstanding care given to her by all the staff, led by the Manager, throughout her stay. They are incredibly patient, kind, and caring we are so grateful for the level of care our Mum receives. We are a large family and frequent visitors to the home but whatever day and whatever time one of us visits the level of care is always extremely consistent. This is a great comfort to all of us knowing that Mum is safe and cared for at all times.
All staff are caring and compassionate. Individualised care is given. Staff get to know each resident's needs. The feelings of each resident and their relatives are taken into consideration. All staff give their care to residents in a happy considerate manner.
My wife is very happy at Jansondean. She is in a world of her own but appears happy and contented whenever I visit (twice a week). She has one particular friend there and the staff are very attentive to her needs. Clothes go missing at times but I am aware that this is a common problem in most if not all Care Homes. My wife is a lot happier at Jansondean than she was in the last year or so at home with me.
My mum has been a resident at Jansondene for nearly a year. I have always found the manager staff very kind caring and always willing to do what ever my mum may need or want. I always have a good chat with all the staff and feel part of the home. The cook looks after my mum making sure she likes what she cooks for her. I can't speak more highly of the care that my mum receives and am grateful for that.
My uncle has been with Jansondean for just under a year now. He likes it here and thinks the staff are lovely. He likes that they come and chat to him and nothing is too much of an effort. He's still enjoying the food and loves the games and entertainment they have. I spoke to him today and he has been watching the football which he's been loving. Thank you to all the staff for welcoming his family too.
I am completely happy with Jansondean. The staff are all caring, friendly and loving people and are willing to take time to chat with me about Mum's many issues and, indeed, about my own. I am always kept informed of anything affecting Mum's health, whatever it may be. Professional and efficient. The building, although not of the modern glamourous type, is clean and fresh and the lounge/dining area is a happy place to be. There are usually things going on, whether it be just listening to music or watching films, or exercises or games. The walls and windows usually carry pictures and cut-outs that the residents have made to reflect the season or up-and-coming events. Care was even taken to ensure that I had a Christmas card from Mum, which I appreciated very much. The food is excellent, far superior to the only other two care homes with which I have had experience. The spreads put on for the two parties I have attended could have graced anyone's private function.
My mum has been in her care home for 14 months now. She is so happy there and has a good relationship with the carers and staff. She feels comfortable, safe and cared about. Myself and my family have seen how well she has settled in and are grateful to everyone for making her feel this way. The carers/staff are all very approachable and friendly and truly care about all the residents. Thank you to you all.
Selecting a residential care home that could accommodate both my aunts was never going to be easy and I am so pleased that we chose Jansondean. One of the aunts recently passed away whilst in residency and the compassion demonstrated by all the team to my aunt and her family was heartwarming. Throughout her stay my aunt was very well cared for and always treated with dignity and respect. Jansondean is a care home that really does care about its residents. Thank you.
My grandmother was a resident at Jansondean Residential Home for only 10 weeks but the care and love she received there was unbelievable. Everyone who works there is so caring, both to the residents and to the families and we always felt that my grandmother was being looked after and cared for just as we would have wished her to be. The staff are so professional and knowledgeable but also so warm and loving. My grandmother's last few weeks were spent with people who loved and cared for her and for that we are eternally grateful. Thank you.
My mother came into the care home on 3rd October 2022. The whole team in the care home have been absolutely fantastic. Very professional and knowledgeable but, most of all, very caring. It feels like we are part of a huge family. I was concerned when my mum made the decision to come into the care home, but the transition has been made so much easier by the care and attention given to Mum and us by all the staff members.
My father is currently a resident of Jansodean. His needs are met in a timely manner with thought and care. He is treated as an individual. I am kept well informed of his progress with regular review meetings. The carers, cooks and cleaners all know my father and interact with him. The cook is particularly kind, always providing the food requested by Dad. Management is excellent. Whilst the building is shabby, I would still recommend the care home for the atmosphere and welcoming attitude of the staff.
My mother has been a resident here for about three years and I am so happy with the care she receives. Initially when she arrived her behaviour was quite challenging as she has advanced Alzheimer's. Over a period of 3 to 4 months, the staff at the home show so much compassion and understanding that slowly mum began to calm down and feel secure. They are a wonderful team and all work together to ensure the best care for mum.
My mother was a resident, albeit, for only 6 days and then sadly she passed away. I can honestly say that the care she received from the staff was excellent. They went above and beyond to care for her. Her clothes were freshly laundered and all were marked with her name within hours of her arriving. Mum had been having trouble eating and drinking and I arrived several times at different times and found the staff with her so kind, caring and encouraging. Mum had a lovely view of the garden and the staff were more than happy to allow her bed to be moved so she could fully appreciate it. The home felt like home for her, it didn't feel clinical or had any funny smells to it. The manager is a lovely man and all the family were treated with such kindness and compassion. I really couldn't have asked for better care. It is a real pleasure to give such a positive review in light of all the really awful ones in the news lately. I would highly recommend this establishment.
Special care and good support are given to my husband in his failing condition. He received a room next to the office to be supervised also at night. The staff are very friendly and understanding. I am well satisfied with the help and general working order at the home.
My friend has been staying here for 10 months, after a disastrous hip operation, resulting in him needing 24 hour care. The staff and management have been fantastic throughout his stay. They are on the ball with any medical issues that arise and deal with them very efficiently. The food is healthy, varied and cooked on site, non of that package rubbish. Birthdays are celebrated and cake shared among residents, you can even have a party! His room although on the small side is functional and meets his requirements. He is quite happy here and I do wonder if he'll actually want to return home, when everything he needs is right here!
