View Full Details of Jesmund Nursing HomeI have been very pleased with the nursing home. I feel the staff are very attentive and caring. I feel the entertainment is fun and that the music is just right. The bingo is good fun and competitive. The food is varied and the Indian food is very much appreciated. We have enjoyed having the garden to sit in during the summer and on sunny days. It feels like a big family and homely.
My dad has been at Jesmund Nursing Home for over 3 years and all the staff and management are exceptional in the way they deal with patients including my dad as he can be challenging at times. The staff are very patient and do keep me informed with regular updates. I would highly recommend Jesmund care home for any one who wants their loved ones to be cared for professionally and most important with the assurance and peace of mind that they are being well looked after.
My brother arrived straight from hospital in July 2024, and has never been left anywhere before and was very anxious and scared on arrival. Over the next few days, I was allowed to visit every day until he settled and within a few days he was content, and finding his feet in a completely different situation. But with the love and understanding from staff and management, he has made a very reassuring member of the family unit. The care is excellent and he is treated with the utmost care and attention. I am treated with the same politeness, kindness, and professionalism that are received by my own family member and other residents. The room is always clean and tidy. The activities are good and enjoyable by all. Food is really nutritional and enjoyable. I'm very fortunate that my brother has been accepted by the staff and residents and is safe and looked after with love.
My husband receives the best possible care at Jesmund. All the staff are friendly and helpful, they have an excellent leader who always has time to listen and chat. The manager organised a great party, everyone enjoyed it.
My father has been in Jesmund Nursing Home since 2022. He is content and well cared for. He enjoys his food and is kept clean. He is happy at the home. The staff have always been polite, courteous, kind, and attentive to me. I see their kindness, professionalism, caring, and patience towards him and other residents. I feel fortunate my father is able to spend time in a place filled with love.
My father was transferred to Jesmund Nursing Home under the fast-track palliative care pathway following a fall that resulted in a brain injury. He was treated with the utmost care and dignity by all the staff that work at Jesmund. They were infinitely patient with our constant visiting and also treated Dad like their own family. We would highly recommend this home. Only thing I would say is that it could do with a facelift, but the care is second to none!
The staff in Jesmund Nursing Home are wonderful - the care they showed towards our father during the last three months of his life was exemplary. We could not have found a more caring team to nurse him and they were very welcoming to us as a family as well.
A well-organised home where love, respect and care were at the top of the list of priorities. Excellent management and fabulous caring staff. Very diligent on procedures to minimise spread of infection during Covid episode. I would highly recommend this care home.
My mum was at this home for almost 3.5 years. She was looked after very well by all staff. Very patient, polite and attentive. The owner and admin staff are all professional and courteous and listen to and action family members' requests and comments. Would recommend this for any other of my family members needing A1-class service.
My friend arrived from the hospital in a very distressed and confused state and was only mobile with a full body hoist. She was looked after with compassion and care by all the staff. I was kept informed of progress or otherwise and had full discussions with the management about the future residence in Jesmond of my friend. Despite the Covid restriction access to her room was readily available with all precautions, also telephone calls were transferred to her. She celebrated her birthday with a lovely cake provided by the staff and celebrated Christmas with them. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated such that she had to spend her last days in the hospital.
My mum was very happy at Jesmund Nursing Home and was there for 10 months. The care was excellent and the staff kept us very well informed. All the staff were lovely. I was impressed that they could tell me how my mum was doing without referring to notes. They do regular activities to stimulate the residents' minds, we were unable to visit much due to Covid restrictions.
My Mother must have been, close to the longest resident, this care home has had. She was very confused and, fully incontinent but, was looked after with great care by the staff. Even though, it was not possible to question my mother directly about her care, her smile at returning after a spell in hospital was a plain signal. I can only say that all the staff were very helpful looking after my mother's family and, friends. As relatives, we were more than happy, to leave her in their care.
My uncle is not the easiest of people to care for, suffice to say he can be very difficult. The staff are very tolerant and patient with him. There is always a welcome for a visitor. Covid has made things difficult but the home kept us informed and contacted us frequently with updates.
Our dad spent 10 weeks in hospital before going into Jesmund nursing home. Due to the pandemic, we were unable to view the nursing home. Our dad was not eating or drinking before he went into the home, but he soon started to gain weight and settled in very quickly. We received daily updates on our dad and we were able to call him whenever we wanted to and speak to him on the phone. Our dad was only in Jesmund nursing home a few months before he sadly passed away but the care and kindness they showed our dad was amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. As a family, to see our dad go into a nursing home was heartbreaking but we would highly recommend Jesmund nursing home. Due to the pandemic, we were unable to go inside the nursing home we were only able to see our dad for window visits.
The staff are all very patient and always have time to answer any questions I ask. In this stressful Coronavirus time, I receive a text every day to keep me in touch with what is happening in the Jesmund daily routine.
My Dad has been a resident for just over a year, he is well cared for by patient and helpful staff. His meals are nutritious and he has regained the weight he had lost prior to his admission. Although he has no mobility he is up every day with other residents in the lounge for meals, activities and exercises.
My father has been at the home for several months now, and in that time his weight and health have stabilised. I have found the staff, especially the Manager, to be kind and very caring. They always make us feel very welcome when we visit.
My Mother has been looked after and treated with dignity for the last two years. She has gained weight and enjoyed all the activities that this nursing home provides. I have not had to worry about her since she entered this nursing home. All the staff are very caring. I would recommend it.
The nursing home is clean, tidy and with no smell as you walk in. The nurses look after the patients. I do feel they need to interact more with the patients as when I have been there, they all just sit there watching TV. Need to get games and books out.
Clean, helpful, caring, thorough, supportive staff. Meals are nutritious. Entertainment and exercise is very helpful and medication, personal hygiene, health care is of a high standard.
