View Full Details of St John's Nursing Home LtdThere are many very caring staff who are friendly and approachable. The new manager is easy to communicate with and is very responsive to feedback. There is a willingness to listen and to seek solutions to meet the needs of my friend.
This is a much-improved nursing home with real leadership from the manager and very professionally motivated staff. My wife's palliative care is being administered with kindness, and I am kept informed of all changes and informed before they are carried out.
Staff are very helpful. Service level of care is good. Feedback is sometimes difficult to get. The phone is a poor connection to have and causes frustration too but us and my father. Nurses are friendly.
The carers have treated the residents with good care and support. The activities for the residents have been varied and excellent, and have a yearly barbeque for them and their family with live entertainment. Live entertainment occurs also a few times the rest of the year. Cleanliness has improved to what it was, with no smells while entering the building. The place is very secure, which is good for residents with dementia. The carers have also shown kindness and friendliness. It is good value for money compared to the cost of other nursing homes around the area.
I am forever grateful for the love, care, and compassion the staff of St John's gave my mother-in-law. I cannot praise this nursing home enough. They treated my mother-in-law (who died in November) so very, very well. I have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic home. I have visited many, many times. The staff are always friendly, polite, and professional. I always felt they were treating my mother-in-law as they would like to be treated, with genuine love and respect, as if she were their own mother. There is a choice of varied, high-quality meals each day. There is entertainment every afternoon. On special occasions, performers are brought in to entertain. Family and friends are always welcome to these with many attending. During the summer they have large garden parties. Trips to the seaside are arranged throughout the year. The nursing home is always very clean and tidy. If ever I need to live in a nursing home, I hope it is as good as St John's.
Staff always very friendly and caring. Mum always looked clean and well cared for.
My mother was a resident here for three years until she passed away in December 2019. It's very difficult choosing a care home for a loved one and I was very happy we chose St John's. All the staff, from the nurses to the carers, to the cleaning staff were all excellent. It was a great comfort to know she was safe and well looked after. She was treated with kindness, respect and dignity and she was always clean and well dressed. My mother had advanced dementia so she needed help with everything - there was nothing she could do for herself. The staff were so kind to her and were always smiling, talking to her and being gentle. We are so very grateful that we chose St John's.
I have found the caring staff and management genuine and competent. The level of care and cleanliness is commendable. I am pleased that my Mother is in trained and skilled hands. I would honour and extend my felicitations to all those who have tendered their services to my mother.
Our experience of St John's has been very positive. My husband can sometimes prove challenging and this is dealt with in a very sympathetic and professional way. It has taken a huge weight off my mind to know that my husband is being so well looked after. All the staff are very kind and friendly towards me and all my family.
Staff shortages result in safety issues when those at high risk of falls are unsupervised. The menu could be more varied for those with dietary requirements. Staff are kind to residents and they are hardworking. The manager is open to feedback but could be more visible in public areas eg., lounges. Water should be available on each tray table in lounges as not all residents are able to request this. Communication with nursing staff is improving. If safety improves I would recommend St John's to others.
My cousin seems to be very happy here and has, after 1 year, settled in very nicely. The staff couldn't be nicer. The staff give a variety of entertainment which is appreciated by all. All year activities are carried out with many visits outside for day trips. Well done, good work.
My wife spent her last months at St John's and we visited once a week for a year before she moved in. I still can't express how good St John's is, sure, they looked after my wife very well, but that's not half of it. I came every day and could see how loved she was. I mean 'loved'; it was touching. I also saw, over a period of 2 years, how settled the staff were. There's very little turnover which is a key measure in my book and the range of activities is so important and so well prepared.
We had a not very nice experience here. Mum's medical needs were not addressed. We have ended up having to move our Mum to another home.
Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Very kind to my mother. The management team are very good, always asking us if everything is OK and are we happy with mother's care. If there was anything we weren't happy about we feel confident that it would be rectified.
I was visiting my aunt in St John's. She is the third of my aunts to have resided there so I have been visiting the home over many years. I have always found the place welcoming and the staff pleasant. A good atmosphere, I just wish my mother has been in St John's when it was her time to enter a home. I picked on near me which was just about ok.
Our Mother has resided at St Johns for just over a year. She is treated with kindness and consideration at all times and the nursing care is excellent. She has made excellent progress and has settled very well. The home has a very happy atmosphere and is clean and bright. We feel very welcome every time we visit and there is always someone to speak to should we have any questions at all. We have not had any problems at all since our Mum has been in St Johns. When we visit she looks very well, her hair done and clothes clean and immaculate which are things that are very important to her. She enjoys the activities and is thriving in such a caring community. We are so pleased that we managed to find such a lovely place for our Mum and can wholeheartedly recommend it.
My dad and father-in-law were in St John's we were made very welcome they looked after them as if they were family. The staff made us all very welcome and looked after all the family.
My mother was very well cared for and encouraged to make decisions with regards to her care. Every staff member was very considerate and kind, I was happy to leave mum in respite at St Johns, family and friends who visited said how happy and well she looked. I shall hope to be able to use St Johns again in the future. Staff and residents are happy.
Carers are extremely good, kind and look after residents very well.
My mum seems so happy since she has been here. She is a different person. The staff are so polite and friendly. I spent my mum's birthday with her at the home and it was a lovely experience, very accommodating. Lovely atmosphere.
