All I can say is the care that my father received at Kenbrook was amazing. Each and every member of staff does an outstanding job and I was desperate to get my mother into Kenbrook but she passed away before I could. My dad was old-school Sicilian and quite a difficult character but this did not phase them at all. They showed him so much kindness and respect that I will forever be grateful to them. The care that they show all the residents makes it a pleasure to spend time at Kenbrook. Thank you so much for all you did for my Father.
My mother's respite stay at Kenbrook was excellent - see below. My only concern was sharing the commode and hoist with other residents including sling for commode. On several occasions we shared a hoist with the lower floor which delayed my mum's care. Also the bathroom drain was faulty.
My mother has recently died here after a stay of over 3 years. It has been amongst the happiest years of her life. The focus is on maximising the quality of life for all residents. While staff and residents are members of all religions or none, the atmosphere is characterised by the best human qualities of kindness, friendliness, informality, inclusion and community. All residents are asked about their interests and encouraged to engage with activities that are meaningful to them. There are a range of activities from art, cooking, gardening, puzzles, learning aids and quizzes. Children from a local school visit once a week, they held a concert and outdoor meal recently. The chaplain runs service and supports all residents. There are two well-tended gardens to walk in, a conservatory, an enormous lounge that can be booked for family occasions. The staff were right there for myself and my family through my mother's final illness and death making a painful experience also joyful.
Kenbrook Wembley. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality on our visit to see my sister. We travelled from South Yorkshire and Walthamstow. Our request to have a meal with my sister was met with a welcomed ease! She ate with gusto - especially the onion-free salad, which was prepared with her in mind. This was one of a few attentions to detail that delighted us. We were escorted and checked-up upon, as an act of care. We were taken to the Fish Tank Day Room for lunch. A table was set, as if an altar. we were offered a 3-course meal with wines - at the correct temperature! The wonderful room was featured by views of the well-cared gardens, enhanced by the light from the many long windows - in addition to the fish tank! Our first visit to my sister is remembered by the relaxed and caring atmosphere, with no pressure on timing; the social stimulation of eating together, with added conversations, reminiscing, and storytelling; and, the well-being psychology of the communal gathering.
I regularly visit a former colleague (Methodist Minister) at Kenbrook. He is now confined to his bed and not in good health. From my observations, the staff care for him wonderfully (sometimes I have to leave his room while they check him over). His room and bathroom are spotless as is the rest of the building. I have left three of the boxes blank as I do not have the experience to comment.
I've visited my friend's Mother, who is now the longest resident at the home for over 20 years. That in itself says a lot about the care and attention she has received over that time. The home is very clean and welcoming. The residents always appear to be in good spirits. The staff are lovely and friendly and very accommodating. Recently, the staff helped my friend arrange a 90th Birthday party for her at the home which she absolutely loved.
We recently were invited to share our friend's 60th wedding anniversary. We were welcomed by all the staff we came in contact with and met in a room allocated to the family. It was lovely to see how caring the staff were with them showing kindness and respect. Special cakes were made in the kitchen to help celebrate the occasion. Thank you very much.
An amazing party to celebrate a 60th anniversary. Lovely speech from the manager and gifts for them along with a beautiful cake made by the home. Staff were excellent at making everything work and supporting them. Thanks to all the team for the amazing care and supporting them.
We came to celebrate the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of my cousin and his wife (both residents). It was a happy occasion despite the dementia that now affects one of them. The staff were very supportive and joined us and it was a splendid tea!
We had a great get-together on 17/09/23 for Grandad's 80th birthday. The care home really decorated the room wonderfully. They made a lovely cake on 15/09/23 and all the care staff sang to him. They really do go the extra mile here. Thank you for making it special Kenbrook.
We attended a friend's 60th wedding anniversary tea party at the lounge. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome and made this memorable milestone even more lovely.
My mother has been at Kenbrook for twenty years which they celebrated in August. The staff both past and present have been remarkable. Her care has been exemplary. I could not recommend Kenbrook highly enough. They have been a gift to my mother and I.
This is a wonderful care home. We are confident that our Mum is being well looked after. There is a good programme of activities and events. Every effort is made to create a home from home. Thank you!
My family and I are all continually pleased with the care our mother receives at Kenbrook. The staff are kind, competent and compassionate. They always offer a friendly greeting to family and friends and go out of their way to make things easy for us. We feel our mother is in many safe pairs of hands.
Dad has been a resident at Kenbrook for just under a year. His health has gradually improved under the watchful care of the nurses. As he has regained strength, he has appreciated the church services and exercise activities provided. The team of carers work hard to keep him as independent as he can manage, noting when more or less help is needed. When visiting, the carers have assisted in enabling Dad to have space with his visitors, including space for lunch together. He is assisted to visit his wife, who is also in Kenbrook. Thank you to all the staff at Kenbrook, who are a loving team of devoted carers.
Both our parents now live at Kenbrook: one since 2019 and the second moved in a few weeks ago. The quality of the care given - before, during the Covid pandemic period (including when families were unable to visit) and since restrictions have eased - is outstanding, and we have experienced great warmth from the staff towards both residents and all our family. The atmosphere is welcoming and full of life. Kenbrook feels like a community, as residents eat together in the dining rooms and there are plenty of activities and special events taking place. Winning staff team of the year and manager of the year at the 2022 Brent Care Awards is testament to the superb staff, as it is primarily the people who make Kenbrook the wonderful place it is. The facilities are good too. It may not be as plush as some homes, but Kenbrook is light-filled and spacious. The garden and enclosed courtyard garden are a lovely bonus. We are happy the long wait for a place is over, as is the new resident!
Good atmosphere ith friendly staff. Residents always look happy. Lots of activities. Nice open spaces and clean.
We are very happy with Kenbrook with all the care and service they provide for our family. Always approach us with a professional and friendly manner. They look after our family member with all his needs and maintain the room with clean environment.
My husband has been in Kenbrook since February 2018. My family and I have always found there is a culture of caring from the management, nurses, carers and cleaners. Residents are all treated with friendship and dignity. The home is always spotlessly clean.
My father-in-law is well cared for here at Kenbrook. He is happy, he is eating well compared to the last care home he was in. The nursing staff have been exceptional in looking after him. They keep us updated on all his needs, his care and anything we need to know. The care home has a lovely feel to it as you come in. Staff are helpful and caring and I have no worries about him. Great care home.
