View Full Details of Link House Care & Nursing HomeMy mum has been a resident at Link House since August 2020 and the care she receives there is excellent. The staff are really great and do a wonderful job. The food looks really good and is varied and always something special is done at festive times of the year. I would recommend Link House to anyone looking for a residential care home for themselves or a loved one.
I have found the staff very friendly and caring, they have to taken a lot of time looking after my wife as she is suffering with dementia. When I arrive at the home, the staff are always there to greet me.
Dad has settled well into Link House. It was a difficult decision as a family for Dad to move out of his flat but it has proved to be a positive change. The care is fantastic and the team treat Dad with care and respect and interact with him regularly. They are kind and welcoming and we are very grateful to them for looking after him. I would thoroughly recommend Link House.
Dad has been here since June this year and the positive changes to his physical and emotional well-being have been amazing and he seems to get stronger and happier every day. All the staff at every level are kind, caring and friendly, making us feel very welcome. Would have no hesitation in recommending Link House!
All the staff at Link House are friendly, caring and kind. My mother has been a resident for over 2 years and is now bedridden. She is treated by staff with both care and dignity and a great deal of patience. The nursing and care staff are always approachable to ask about any issues or care needs. You can even phone up if you are unable to visit in person. The food provided is of an excellent standard. Since the new manager arrived there has been an increase in activities and events.
Never put your loved one here, beware the outcome will not be good. Their care will not be continued with respect, no continued care or management respect, especially management respect. Please choose carefully, plenty more respected care homes better for your loved ones.
I am very disappointed with the service received at Link House. Do not send your loved ones to this care home under any circumstances. My father who was a previous resident there has severe Parkinson's and dementia. On several occasions, he pressed the bell to go to the toilet and was kept waiting for over half an hour. He had no choice but to go in his nappy. On another occasion after complaining about bladder pain, the nurse on duty failed to recognise symptoms of a UTI and delayed involving the GP. My father was then sent to A&E for a catheter change as it could not be done in the care home despite having nurses on the premises and inadequate equipment. When he went into the ambulance he was given no water or food. They even failed to give him his timed Parkinson's medication to the ambulance staff. Is this how you treat an 85-year-old man with disabilities? I feel for the huge amount of money paid per week it was daylight robbery.
I chose this care home for my 95-year-old mother as I knew of it and it was within walking distance of my house. The majority of the care staff are excellent but still, some requests get forgotten. The management is rather distant from residents and at weekends, there is a lack of someone in charge. Overall I suppose this home is very good. Nicely furnished, with good food and pleasant staff. Its closeness to me is a great advantage and my mother is generally happy there.
The carers always treat Mum with respect, kindness and dignity. The team are always friendly and keeps us as relatives informed. They make us feel part of the big family. The team always make sure Mum is in good health and always keeps me informed of any issues. The team are all amazing and looks after my mum so well, it means a lot to me.
A well-designed purpose build building. Friendly and helpful staff. Well organised despite constant staff shortage.
I look forward to visiting my mother, who has nursing care needs and now lives at Link House. Her needs are very well met at the home and I am pleased to say on her behalf that this means a lot to her and makes us feel content in her situation.
Always a good greeting. The staff are helpful, courteous and kind to my sister. Sometimes there is no water/drink next to my sister e.g. yesterday there was water etc. but no mug. I feel as though I am listened to if there are any concerns for my sister's wellbeing. I am very grateful for all that is done and very aware that it is a very busy environment.
My sister appears to be pleased with the care that she receives. She always praises the staff and is happy at Link House. The food is acceptable most of the time. The entertainment girls work hard to bring variation to the daily life of my sister.
My Mother has only been a resident in Link House for a short time but to date, I have been pleased with the care she has received. When you enter there is a warm homely atmosphere and a courteous greeting. All members of staff have been friendly, helpful, and attentive and I feel that my Mother has been treated with dignity and respect. As my Mother chose not to get up the staff kindly moved her bed so that she could look out of the window which I thought was very considerate. Although she has a poor appetite my Mother has been offered a wide variety of food choices and lots of tea which she always enjoys and appreciates.
Very pleased with the home Link House and the great care my Dad received, everyone was very kind and compassionate, and although Dad was near the end of his life nothing was too much trouble, even the catering staff went out of their way to offer Dad alternatives of food in attempts to get him to eat more, everyone worked hard to look after Dad and us when visiting him. Could not have wished for a better place for Dad to be.
I have been so impressed with the care my friend has received at Link House, the staff are lovely, nothing seems to be too much trouble. The room is clean and of a good size, the food looks delicious and is plentiful, the Chef made a visit to my friend to find out what she liked/disliked. There is excellent communication around the home between management and residents/friends. There are regular meetings and more recently, a newsletter. My friend says that the home has improved in recent months, especially with improved activities. I feel my friend is well cared for and safe at Link House
As I had never visited a care home I had no idea what to expect, I was very pleasantly surprised. From the moment I entered Link House, I was treated with care and kindness. The management was very helpful and informative. The staff on the floor my Aunt stays are attentive and caring, they responded quickly and efficiently to her call bell. The Senior in Charge is very knowledgeable, especially around dementia and was able to reassure us that my Aunt was ok. My Aunt needs help with meals and the staff took time to feed her what looked and smelled like a really nice meal. The Activity lady came and asked me about my aunt's life history and what she liked to do before moving into care, she said it helps her incorporate what residents like to do into the activities she offers. I noticed the week's activities included a trip out in a minibus. I would recommend Link House as a lovely care home to my friends and family.
Over the past few months, I have visited my friend and have noticed a marked improvement in recent weeks. The staff are very caring and always have time for her, the management team always have their doors open and are open to communication at any time. The food is wonderful, home-cooked, and looks appetising - a little more choice and a little less garlic for my friend's taste. The home is attractive, spacious, and is always clean. Activities are improving with trips out and 1:1 sessions in my friend's room. Nothing is too much trouble for the handyman. I would highly recommend Link House.
Staff listen to concerns and deal with them. Very clean and well-organised. My wife's bedding is very clean, she is always clean and tidy. The food offered is always well cooked and presented. I am always advised if my wife is running out of toiletries, drinks etc. My wife is bedridden and unable to take part in activities but her music is always on.
The standard of care that mum received at Link House was second to none. The home is in a really nice, green and peaceful location and is very well maintained. All mum's special needs, such as taking the time to cut her food up and feed her because she could no longer manage herself, were catered for and she built some great relationships with the care staff. It was the most relaxed and happiest we had seen mum in all the time she was receiving care services. The staff made a real effort to make mum look her best every day. They even cut and washed her hair for the first time in months after a very long hospital stay and it made such a difference. We had regular communication from the staff and management, especially when things took a turn for the worse. Sadly, mum passed away when she was readmitted into hospital from the home but, even afterwards, the home took the trouble to send us a condolence card, which was really appreciated and thoughtful.
