View Full Details of Orchard House Nursing HomeOrchard House has provided me with an excellent standard of essential twenty-four hour residential care which I require due to my chronic medical condition. I am very grateful to all Orchard House staff for looking after me with kindness, care, respect and dignity in my period of medical need.
I can't say how much we appreciate the care and respect given to our father. He had said he enjoyed being here with all the care and attention the staff gave him. Thank you for making his last days happy ones!
I enjoy the food at Orchard House and the staff are very caring. Sound progress of my wife has been aided by the treatment she is receiving.
Had to make the decision not seeing home, made the right decision. Staff are wonderful and caring, lovely room.
My Mum moved into Orchard House Nursing Home in Autumn 2023 from hospital. During her hospital stay it was touch and go whether she would pull through. However, the care at Orchard House has turned this around and Mum is now almost back to the way she was before she fell ill. I do think without their care she would not still be with us. Initially she was allocated a small room but now in a lovely big airy room and she enjoys watching the comings and goings outside. She has gained weight and although eats only a little she especially enjoys the sandwiches and cakes late afternoons. Mum is a loner and prefers to stay in her room than join in activities but these are always open to her and staff always ask her if she would like to be included.
I would like to thank the staff I've engaged with while visiting my wife. She is bed bound and needs 24 hour care. I cannot praise the staff enough, from the managers, to the care staff, laundry staff and cleaners. Very busy people but they all have time to spare for any questions I may have. Also the home is very clean and tidy.
My mother in law spent 15 months at Orchard House Nursing Home. She had advanced dementia and was well cared for, her needs were met and changed when needed. Communication was excellent and the staff were incredibly caring, from the chef to the cleaning staff and management. For her family, the most important thing was knowing she was safe and cared for and we felt that completely. Her husband was supported and encouraged to participate in events, and after her sad passing everything was handled with dignity and love. For us, they were outstanding and I would reach out to them immediately when the time comes for support again.
My cousin has been a resident of Orchard House Nursing Home for over a year now. Her overall condition improved immeasurably when she moved to Orchard House. This, I believe, is due to the facilities, food and care of her existing conditions, but more importantly the care and concern of the staff who have been truly wonderful. The manager has also always been available for updates and feedback as I don't get to visit my cousin often, and is always friendly and approachable.
I am very happy with the care that my mother has received over the period of time she has been at Orchard House Care Home. I feel content leaving my mother, knowing that she will be well looked after and cared for by all the members of staff.
I would highly recommend Orchard House Nursing Home. All staff are very friendly, warm, caring and professional to the people they look after and the family members / friends that visit. This is when we are greeted at the door and when they are doing their jobs within the home. They treat my dad with kindness, respect etc., despite his physical and mental disabilities. The manager is so warm, kind, caring, professional. She puts the needs of her residents first, her staff, as well as being kind, caring and more, it is really understanding towards her residents' family members and about their well being too. It is an honour to say, that she truly cares about the family members of the residents. Thank you so much, the manager and to your wonderful team at Orchard House. Keep doing what you are doing. It is much appreciated. Warm regards, to everyone.
Orchard House has a real homely feel about it. The staff are like a big family and Mum was made to feel comfortable from the very beginning. We liked it so much that we decided to move our dad, from another nursing home to join her there. Sadly, Dad passed away shortly after but we were grateful that they got to spend time together in a loving atmosphere. After almost 4 years at Orchard House - Mum's passing, like Dad's, was dealt with, with dignity and respect.
Orchard House Nursing Home has proved to be an excellent care home for my partially paralysed cousin. The staff are friendly, well motivated and supportive. The rooms are well kept and the new owners are keen to make further improvements. I would highly recommend the home.
My mother has been a resident at Orchard House since September 2020. She has vascular dementia and was admitted straight from hospital following several falls. We are very pleased with the care she receives. The staff are friendly and caring, this includes nurses, carers and domestic staff. There is a very low turn over of staff which means good continuity of care, it's important that residents get to know their carers well. The quality of the food is excellent, all freshly cooked by their chef. The home is spotlessly clean and is currently being refurbished by the new owners.
My experience at the care home so far has been wonderful, the staff are there to attend to my needs whenever I need them they are there, and that's daytime and nighttime employees. As a paraplegic, my needs are different from others, but the staff treat me no differently from the other residents which I greatly appreciate.
My mum has been in this lovely care home for 7 years and the staff are amazing. They are so kind and patient with my mum. We have never had one concern for her. The atmosphere is welcoming and all the staff go out of their way to help you.
My mother has been a resident in Orchard House Nursing Home for 5 years. She was brought to the nursing home from the hospital. She has vascular dementia, Alzheimer's and a heart condition. In all of this time my mother has been a resident I have never had any serious concerns. The nurses and the manager are always available if I have any queries. I am a regular visitor at Orchard House. I visit 4 to 5 times a week so I see all of the running of home. The carers are very professional but also are very loving and considerate to my mother. I would recommend Orchard House.
My father came to Orchard House Nursing Home at the end of 2021. He settled well into his new home and has always seemed happy with his care. The staff are all very helpful, friendly and my father likes and trusts them, which is a great comfort.
My father was transferred to Orchard House from the local hospital for palliative care due to a combination of a bad fall at home and the effects of prostate cancer. When he arrived at the home it was thought that he did not have long to be with us however because of the excellent care he received at Orchard House he lived a further 4 months before he peacefully passed away. Myself and my brothers visited Dad every week and observed how the staff looked after him, at all times they were professional and caring. If we had any concerns we were able to speak to the home manager or the nurse on duty at the time. Initially, we were concerned about Dad going into a home in his condition however after the first week we knew he was in a good place and I cannot state enough how pleased we were with the care he received in his final days.
My brother-in-law has been a resident for some years now. He is brain-damaged and a double amputee. I have always found the staff, caring, thoughtful and treat him with respect and dignity. The home is clean, comfortable and welcoming. There is also a love garden and very nice to go into in the warmer months. I would have no qualms in recommending the home for anyone.
At Orchard House, the carers are very kind. All of the staff are respectful and treat the residents with dignity. The food provided is very good and special dietary requirements are catered for. They take the time to make meals that the residents enjoy. The nurses administer medical care efficiently and monitor any changes in health requirements. They always have time for their families also.
