View Full Details of Priscilla Wakefield HouseWe have been extremely pleased with Dad's overall care at Priscilla Wakefield House. In particular, the staff are fantastic. Dad is treated with care and respect and the staff seem genuinely fond of him (and him of them). The home is always warm and welcoming and Dad is physically well taken care of and presentable. One slight concern is ensuring he is drinking enough fluids throughout the day, as he doesn't always remember to do so himself (and cannot always reach the cup). But overall, we are very pleased with the service provided in the home.
Friendly and kind staff. Amazing people from the receptionists to the health care assistants and nurses. The staff really take care of the patients and it is a very clean and neat environment. The management is very supportive and attentive.
The home is very welcoming. Staff are friendly, helpful and approachable. Care given is very good - resident is almost always clean, shaved and in his own clothes. Observed interactions between staff and resident are unfailingly very positive and warm and clearly staff care for his well-being. Some concern that as his abilities are deteriorating whether he is given enough support to drink regularly - drinks are provided but I don't know if (when we aren't here to do it) he is helped to take the drinks. Would like the bed to be assessed for suitability as it isn't quite long enough. Additional services (Chiropody) are very effective and reasonably priced.
Overall very good. Mum has good care, is clean and the food is good. I think she feels very isolated as always in her room. I'm trying to arrange more visitors.
The staff are incredibly kind, caring, and helpful. (The lady in charge and team on Dowitt Ward) always putting patient care first. Very professional and knowledgeable about patients: Care, needs, likes, and dislikes you just feel totally relaxed knowing your relative is in excellent care.
Experience is ok, room always clean and tidy, the staff are ok but some of the staff are very friendly and a few of them are rude. He is disabled but mentally he is fine, when he tells me they do like that it really hurts. Some of them are very good they treat him very nicely.
My mother has been living at Priscila Wakefield House for a few months. The staff have been caring and professional and her improvement has been wonderful. They engage and respect her every day. It's good to see her healthy and happy.
The activity gave good entertainment to all guests, residents and families who attended the Care Home Week. They exceeded the expectations of everyone who was there. The event says it all regarding how organised the care home management is.
Overall the staff have been beyond good in being consistent in the care the give to my aunt who is quite difficult. They are quite friendly and helpful. I feel management should be more visible since visiting my auntie I do not have a clue who is in charge; this is not micro-management; it would be nice to see them coming in and saying hello. My auntie's room is far too dull and gloomy for a long-term redident. More can be done in mental stimulation getting my auntie out of her room to engage. I am thankful but more can and should be done from management level.
Very caring, conscientious, open, gentle and friendly staff.
My brother has been in Priscilla Wakefield House for 8 years and I have seen a consistent level of service. The nurses and carers are excellent and the management is excellent and sees to needs straight away. All workers in the nursing home have a smile and welcome you and are all very friendly and willing to help if needed. This has been the best nursing home I have seen in the area with the newest and up-to-date technology and refurbishment.
While being a resident at Priscilla Wakefield House, I have always felt safe and well cared for. Found staff members very professional, caring, patient and understanding. So far, I have no complaints about the care I receive. My immediate care and needs were always met, thanks to the excellent staff.
It’s funny how most of the reviews are positive, but to each their own. I’ve visited this care home numerous times and made comparisons. The ones that wear burgundy uniforms are quite fake or pretensive, the ones in the blue uniforms do their very best to deliver quality care. I must give a round of applause to all carers because that work is not an easy walk in the park. I’ve also tasted the food myself, sometimes it’s bland other times it’s too salty, which can be improved. Overall, the care home needs to recognise all efforts made by the carers. They are truly the unsound heroes!
Since my mum has been in the care of Priscilla Wakefield House. She has gained weight, has all her needs met and staff treat her with kindness and care and make sure she is comfortable and happy. As her daughter, I truly appreciate everything that has been done for her. I myself come 5 days a week and see first hand how hard the staff work and how caring they are.
The staff are great very helpful and polite. The receptionists are also very helpful, patient and very friendly. My father's room is always clean and tidy I feel the staff on my dad's floor go beyond and above their duty. I am so glad my father is at Priscilla Wakefield House. I would like to thank the staff from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful work they all do.
We bring the holy communication every week and noticed how it changed the person visited. This is our experience of Priscilla Wakefield House is a real home away from home. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are very kind patient and always ready to help and answer any questions. The residents live relatively independent lives and have very good meals. There are programs to maintain good well-being and morale.
Supper club for residents and family is a wonderful idea. It gives all something to look forward to and helps forget the circumstances in which we find ourselves. The staff were all so kind and attentive. The whole affair was well thought out and put together; the staff deserve special commendation.
Priscilla Wakefield property is decorated to the highest standard with care in the decorative features. The staff are professional and very caring to the residents and treating them with the utmost dignity knocking on their door before entry and making the time to liaise with the residents at all times. I would highly recommend Priscilla Wakefield myself, brother and sister thank you wholeheartedly. I would also like to add that the people on reception are always friendly. Thanks.
Mum is cared for well but I find there is room for improvement. The rooms need to be refreshed and painted. The lounge is horrible and very depressing. The packets of nappies on display in each room is undignified and could be stored in a better place so as not for all of the visitors to see and makes the room look like a factory. Activities are sparse sadly and Mum always seems lonely when I come to see her. She is cared for well and is safe which is the main thing I suppose.
We were extremely anxious about our mother being admitted to a care home for her dementia. When in reality she should be with us at home Circumstances led to our mum being placed at Pricilla Wakefield House which we had no control over. Well, all our anxieties were quickly dismissed due to the high-quality care our mum receives from all staff at the home. They treat her with love, compassion and high-quality care. Mum is kept clean, happy, fed well and given the patience and care she deserves. On behalf of our whole family, we thank you so much.
