View Full Details of Sloane House Nursing HomeI cannot express enough gratitude for the care my grandmother received at Sloane House Nursing Home. The staff was incredibly compassionate and attentive, treating her with dignity and respect at all times. They went above and beyond to ensure her comfort and well-being, providing personalised care that truly made her feel at home. The facilities are clean and welcoming, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents engaged. It's a relief to know that my grandmother was in such good hands. Highly recommend Sloane House to anyone seeking excellent care for their loved ones!
What an amazing nursing home. The care, respect, kindness, and empathy that they gave my elderly aunt was exceptional. My aunt was bed-bound, doubly incontinent and in advanced stages of dementia. I tried to visit weekly and without fail a member of staff be it management, nursing staff, carers, or even the chef would pop their head in and my aunt would give a warm smile, this made my life easier knowing that she was happy. My aunt always looked clean and smelled fresh, I felt that the team at Sloane Nursing Home really knew my auntie, even though she was unable to verbally communicate her needs. The communication from the management team is to be praised, I would receive regular updates be it GP visits, updating her medication or just about her well-being. If you are looking for a nursing home that can care for your loved ones as you would yourself. This is the place. It has a warm homely feel and you are made to feel welcome. I would have rated them excellent.
Sloane is a very welcoming home with staff who seems to genuinely care. My grandmother has a lovely, bright and airy room and has really enjoyed her time so far. She has made some good friends and enjoys spending time with them and the staff during activities. I have always found the staff friendly, approachable and informative.
The Sloane House Nursing Home came into play with our family when our mother developed an acute medical condition requiring surgery. She was admitted in serious pain, which Sloane House got under control very quickly, preparing her for her procedural post-surgery recovery. All this was done during Coivd-19. We cannot speak more highly of their kindness and professionalism to our mother and all our family. As a result, our mother is fully cured and living in her own home totally independently aged 88.
I find the home to have all that I need to make my future happy and the family share my view on this. I had doubts coming into nursing care but I need not have worried. It's the complete package for me. Hope I last for many years here. My room is 100% what I wished for. Envy of my friends who are in lesser nursing homes.
The Sloane Nursing Home was chosen for my mother as a first visit it had a warm, caring, clean look and feel to the place. The staff were friendly and courteous from the onset and throughout mums time there. She was well cared for and her needs were attended to and provided during her stay. The staff were professional and polite at all times. We are extremely grateful for their care and attention while mum was there.
The care that the Sloane provides for my mum is exceptional. I have not seen her so happy in years!
The majority of the staff at The Sloane are very nice. They are kind, caring and polite but overall very good care. I have found only one thing that does worry me a little and that the length of time it takes from a patient/resident asking to go to the toilet for them to actually be taken but other than that a very caring home in general.
My brother is happy and well looked after.
I think the staff are wonderful. I am happy and comfortable here.
My arrival at the Slone House Nursing Home followed a heart attack and a lengthy stay in hospital. I came intending it to be a temporary abode for respite care, pending a return to my former home. It soon became clear that I could not survive there without considerable support (I am a widower). I have remained at the home now for over a year, my immediate family now all being resident in Australia. I am very happy here and hope to spend the rest of my days here. The permanent staff are all very friendly and clearly dedicated to their work, sometimes in difficult circumstances. The ratings I have given below explain why I am content. Food and drink are downgraded slightly because of my own dietary restrictions, but I have no complaints.
My mother has been a resident has been a resident at the Sloane for 1 1/2 years. The start of Mum's stay was difficult due to a major change in her surroundings and the people around her. As time has gone on I feel that Mum is in good care and we are all looking out for her best interest. At times, there has been issues and problems that I have brought to the Managers attention and she communicates well.
When my mother went into this care home she was accommodated in a newly-built extension. The room is excellent with a hospital bed, new furniture, TV and en-suite bathroom. Staff are very friendly and engage well with my mother and although she has dementia, she responds positively to this stimulation. Regular entertainment is organised and if the weather is fine, staff will take residents into the very nice garden. In the two years that my mother has been in this care home, I think her general well-being has improved. The home has an excellent care monitoring program and I feel comfortable that my mother is in a caring environment with all the support she needs.
My Father reports being happy and well cared for. His health has picked up considerably since he entered and he is very happy with the selection of recreational activities and outings that he has received.
I can highly recommend the Sloane House Nursing Home. They have very caring staff, excellent hygiene standards, a beautiful premise and they create a very social and happy environment. I think they treat residents with a lot of respect. Individual rooms are of a high standard and medical attention is very professional. I can also speak highly of the entertainment and events they organise for residents.
I believe the Sloane House Nursing Home is reasonably good in comparison with other homes, but the sector is notoriously costly. I feel that the quality of meals could be raised. Although staff have gone out of their way to cater for my mother's gluten and lactose intolerance, the general standard is average and breakfasts have been poor. I believe that the standard of facilities is adequate but the amount of activities has gone down recently, unfortunately. I also believe that one cannot expect residents with dementia to give clear answers to questions as to what they would like and feel that consulting relatives and friends who knew them when they were active would help. I think widening the scope of entertainment including CDs of musical artists they liked and film DVDs would promote better cognition. I also believe that nursing and caring are low paid professions, but management is not - so I think it might be advantageous to look at reducing wage differentials realistically.
The home could do with some more staff. My mum is treated very well.
Rude, unhelpful staff. Surly. I was given the impression I was a real nuisance and I should be in my own home, not visiting my dear friend.
My mother has been well cared for in Slone House for a year and she is very happy. My only concern is that on Sundays the standards fall a bit.
This review is based on 2 x3 hour visits in June and August. I visited the resident in her room and was included in arrangements for lunch which was very positive in every aspect. I was impressed with staff's care of the residents who were universally treated with dignity and respect. This attitude is embedded in the staff team. They were very complimentary about new management and understands the role of management.
