View Full Details of Sycamore LodgeI have received a lot of kindness from the staff in Sycamore Lodge during the period my sisters have been cared for. There is a very high standard of cleanliness in the rooms. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. The quality of the meals has improved. There is always a good atmosphere in the dining room, lounge area. The management have listened to any issues I have raised and acted on them. Thank you.
Yet another piece of my property goes missing, a particular mug when I was moved from one room to another. A container containing Christmas DVDs and CDs was opened and some of the DVDs and CDs were found in a grey container so I can only presume some were not there. A particular game (for games in the car) which was a prize to me also disappeared. People seem to think that as I am in a wheelchair I must be gaga but I can still do £'s of sums. I used to think I would recommend Sycamore Lodge but not anymore.
Our family member stayed at Sycamore Lodge for approximately 5 months. She was well cared for and supported by members of staff who were attentive, kind, professional and courteous at all times. The family appreciated the consistency in care staff which meant we as a family had good communication about our loved one.
We feel supported by the staff. The environment is very nice and peaceful.
Very helpful staff. Feel my father is in good hands. Takes a lot of worry away from us.
The staff on Noble Square are such lovely and caring people; they have made my mum feel so welcome and helped her a lot in the short time she has been here.
I am very happy with the home. Some of the care staff have been absolutely wonderful to my mother. My mother is happy with the food and her room.
Some time ago, I had the shocking news of needing a heart operation in October 2022, with no family near or on hand. The only option could be respite care and quick. My husband was booked in by a very informative manager, pleasant and full of needed information, obviously, I was very worried. We have never been apart for more than a few days at a time due to family visits etc. We have been married 59 years, so yes, I was full of indecision about how would he handle this; he has Dementia/Alzheimers. Well, I had no need to be worried or concerned and have not at any time since at all, in any way; what a relief for us all. During my visit, the day before my heart operation to kiss goodbye and see you very soon, I stood up to kiss him and collapsed, and my hip was shattered - straight away, the staff kicked in, and hubby was taken safely to his room, while they wheel-chaired me out to the ambulance. It was then necessary for me to have an emergency hip operation, yes, hip, not heart, which was expected - wow, shock, yes. My husband is still in Sycamore Lodge due to convalescing after emergency hip surgery and then had to have a heart operation and convalescing again. I can not begin to tell you how wonderful he has been looked after, and more importantly, how safe he has been in there; can you imagine being full of concern and absolutely none was needed; I never ever came away worried; he was so safe, so calm, and quite happy to see me when all the emergencies had been dealt with my health. The staff are so welcoming; you look forward to seeing them and having chats with other people being looked after for various reasons. The food is fantastic, I mean that fantastic; every single thing is so clean, the lounge a friendly place to chat or have a sleep in one of the many armchairs., There's a routine that's needed with dementia, and there are activities; I've seen them, there are exercises, I've seen games, birthday teas, and guests taken to the garden when requested a carer.
My father has been a resident at Sycamore Lodge nursing home since 2010. During his time there, we have been very happy with the care he receives. The staff are helpful and friendly and always show compassion. It is well run.
We, as a family, have a very positive experience with the staff regarding the care our sister receives day-in-day-out. The staff are very caring and friendly, and they look after our sister really well. Nothing is too much for them regarding the care they give. We have got nothing to say except that the staff working on her unit are our champions.
My sister has been residing at Sycamore Lodge for the past five years. She has been cared for by excellent staff, who have gone beyond and above their duty. My sister and us have been treated with respect and dignity throughout. I can only express my gratitude to the care staff. However, the maintenance of the rooms and building has not been kept up and also the quality of food has been going - most food provided is prepared from frozen - veggies and less and less meat are very much noticeable.
My family and I are always greeted by the staff when visiting my mother. My mother's room is located near the staff desk, and we are satisfied with her location. I am glad my family are able to visit frequently after scheduling our appointments.
This is a first-time experience using a care home for my mother. The staff are on hand when we request attention, and they are patient, kind and hardworking. Very encouraging indeed.
Whenever I visit my auntie, the staff are very welcoming and helpful. They look after my auntie very well as she's always smiling and happy when I see her. Great work.
I have always had a very good experience when visiting Sycamore Lodge. I have found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I have thought about how clean and tidy the halls are, well cared for and no unpleasant smells. The staff, almost always offer me tea or coffee, and the cleaners, I think do a very good job. I only wish that the Lodge had been there when my mum needed a home. My only thought is that it would be nice to have a seat for visitors in their rooms.
The staff are very friendly; they make you feel at home. The staff have excellent personal skills - very dedicated and happy to speak to you. The home environment is very airy and spacious. Very clean, smells nice. Mum loves the privacy when her children visit her. Mum loves mealtimes; she has a variety of different food and puddings. She loves her cereal in the morning. Most of all, she said she has been treated as a human being. Keep up the good work, nurses. Thank you.
I am very happy with the care that my wife is receiving at Sycamore Lodge. She is well cared for, comfortable and usually peaceful and not distressed in any way. Lockdown (s) has been difficult for everyone concerned, but recently the situation has returned to near normal. Thanks to all staff, carers and management.
I am happy with the care my mother is getting at Sycamore Lodge care home. She is much more comfortable and happier than when she first arrived, which I believe is due to the care and support from the staff. The room she is in is always very tidy, clean and well organised. Overall because of the environment at the home, her health, ie, physically and mentally is much improved.
Overall, my experience when visiting Sycamore Lodge has been very positive when visiting my grandmother. The staff are always welcoming, professional and helpful. The environment is always clean, and my grandmother is well cared for. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication - keep up the amazing work you are doing; it is most appreciated.
This is my first time visiting my brother and the staff here are so welcoming and caring.
