View Full Details of Barchester Westgate House Care HomeI came to the home straight from having a mastectomy. From arrival to leaving the service, across the whole home has been outstanding. All staff work tirelessly for their patients always with kindness, compassion, patience and love. Nothing was too much, they were so attentive to my needs. I would recommend this care home as a place where you are included, given the highest quality of care and all staff have an excellent work ethic, professional yet personal.
My mum stayed for two weeks respite at Westgate. My brother and I were very pleased with the care our mum received. Friendly and caring staff looked after her very well, had no complaints. We could visit when we wanted to so saw the workings of the home at different times, no concerns if Mum needed longer-term care she has said she would have no worries about returning. Thank you all at Westgate House.
My mum had her first respite stay. Was quite anxious. The staff were reassuring. Good welcoming atmosphere. Well cared for. Was a nice break. Treated with dignity. Returned home well. Will look to rebook.
As a post-op patient recently discharged from hospital and requiring respite care, this was probably not the optimal facility to cater for my specific needs. But this should not detract from the amazing, incredible hard work and dedication shown by the staff members towards the care of the even more vulnerable residents of the home. The staff here should be constantly recognised for their selflessness and efforts towards making life as comfortable as possible for the main residents.
The care home has exceeded all expectations. Staff are very friendly and professional. Home is comfortable and clean, food is lovely, menu is first-class. Security and safety are great.
There are some very nice, friendly, caring staff/nurse at this nursing home. I'm happy my father is staying here. It gives us the peace of mind that he is being looked after and cared for. My father says "The staff are nice and hardworking!"
I came into Barchester Westgate House Care Home for a post-operation respite for two weeks. The staff in all departments have been kind, helpful, cheerful, friendly and accommodated my needs as soon as I arrived a week later than planned. The staff have helped me regain my independence as my mobility from my hip replacement has improved. I also have a lot of skin allergies, the staff have helped me to control and rehydrate from the rash I had on my back. I made the right choice to take two weeks' respite at Westgate House and have nothing but praise for the care they take of everyone. Thank you.
During my recent visit to Westgate House to conduct a review on one of the residents, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall atmosphere and operations of the facility. From the moment I stepped through the doors, it was evident that Westgate House prioritizes a welcoming and inclusive environment for both residents and visitors alike. One aspect that stood out to me was the exceptional organization and professionalism demonstrated by the staff. They were not only efficient in their duties but also exuded warmth and genuine care towards the residents. Their dedication to their roles was palpable, and it was clear that they were committed to providing the best possible support and assistance to those under their care.
My mum is a resident at Westgate House and I have always been happy with the care she receives and if this was not the case I would have taken her out of this home and into another but we remain here because of the culture and inclusivity. Thank you for taking good care of my mum.
Overall experience has been good. Whenever I have had issues about my son's care the staff always go the extra mile to help. My son is happy with the care he has been receiving. I feel he is safe and content.
Well looked after. Food is nice. Staff are friendly. Always clean and smells fresh. Staff are empathetic and kind. Rooms could be more secure as reading glasses and toiletries missing.
Visiting my father is always lovely, the carers are always polite and courteous, always helpful and lovely. They seem to go out of their way to help and look after my father and have a marvellous way about them. My father seems happy and is looked after and medical assistance is always a priority. The added bonus is that the home never smells of urine - I can't praise them enough.
I cannot praise the staff enough (admin and nursing) for their diligent care and the professional way they run the place my mum now calls 'home'. The environment is always friendly, clean and staff personable. My mum has settled down/in well with the help of the staff, so thank you all.
Excellent service. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Thank you for having us.
Overall an excellent care home. Messages did not always reach the person they were intended for and information was not volunteered, but this was not intentional - an oversight. My husband is moving soon, but this is so that he can be nearer his family. I would have been more than happy to leave him at Westgate otherwise.
An excellent home and the staff are very professional and caring. The premises are attractive and kept very clean.
My father has been in Westgate House Care Home for over a month and has settled in well. The staff have been so kind and caring, and I know he’s in safe hands. The meals always provide a choice and are of very high quality. My father thoroughly enjoys them and looks very well as a result. Our family was able to celebrate his recent birthday at the home. The staff decorated a room specially and also provided an amazing cake. I’m so grateful for the care he has received. All the staff have been unfailingly cheerful and welcoming whenever we visit.
My father resided at Westgate House Care Home for 10 months sadly passing away in December 2022. Throughout his time at the nursing home, he was treated with the utmost care and dignity. The staff took special care of the whole family's well-being during my dad's final weeks. As a family, we are very grateful to have found this nursing home.
My mum's been in Westgate for a month now, and the staff have been very friendly and extremely good - informing us of any concerns and what Mum likes, etc. They let us know when they feel concerned about anything, i.e. not taking meds or eating. One thing I do wish is they allow Mum to find her feet, I know she's unstable, and they have to assure her safety, but it's only since taken into the hospital she's been unsteady - she needs to build her muscles up again.
My nan has been in this home for almost two years and I cannot fault her care. She always seems happy and well kept when I see her. New Covid restrictions are over I can take my children into the home and staff are always very welcoming.
