View Full Details of The White House Nursing HomeMy father became a resident in December 2023 until his sad demise in December 2024. The care that Dad received throughout his time at the home was excellent. All the staff were always caring and professional. All activities that Dad became involved in he enjoyed be it in the home or the various day trips. When the family visited we were always made to feel welcome. I cannot thank them enough for the excellent care that Dad received.
The White House is a caring and dignified environment for all its residents. Led by the manager, the team are always willing to attend to any needs of the residents and their families without hesitation. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
The care provided by The White House Nursing Home for my husband has been outstanding. The love, care, and commitment of all of the staff is beyond compare. Sadly my dear husband passed away on 22 December 2024 and even since his passing the staff have been in contact with me directly to check that I am ok. They even have arranged to have a tree planted for him and have sent me an amazing framed photograph of my dear husband. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. They treated my husband and myself as part of their amazing family. They are better than outstanding. They are incredible. Thank you The White House Nursing Home for all of your support and care.
The staff treated my Mum like family and my Mum thought of the nursing home as her home. We were allowed to make her room to suit her, own TV, own furniture. Mum was never lovely although bedbound as all the staff would go and interact with her, they knew instantly when something wasn't right and called the Ambulance and us. Mum raved about the food, as guests we were offered food/drink regularly, and was always good. If I needed a nursing home, I would want to be here.
I cannot fault the care that was provided for my mum over the 6 months that she was there. The staff are so attentive and she was so happy for her short time in the home. They go above and beyond to look after the clients. I will be forever in their thoughts.
Mum moved to The White House Nursing Home from hospital and all the staff worked very hard to welcome her and encourage her to join in with the activities she could manage, to eat and drink enough and to make her comfortable in spite of her frailty. The end-of-life care they provided was caring and professional. We were able to visit every day at any time and were always made welcome. The bedroom was small but the level of care provided was excellent.
My wife spent the last six years of her life in The White House Nursing Home. She suffered from Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. The whole team, from the cleaning staff to management and owners were absolutely wonderful. It felt like a real home and whilst there were obviously rules, everyone made an effort to be as flexible and as considerate both to the resident and their loved ones. This all helped to make the experience of having to see your loved one, in my case my wife, be admitted to a nursing home. However, when there is no option of caring for her any longer yourself in the family home, it was so reassuring to see her settle so easily into The White House. In her last days, she was made very comfortable and suffered no signs of pain or stress. We were allowed 24-hour access and could have stayed overnight if that was needed. I have nothing but praise for all the team, for the loving care they gave my wife. Yes CQC rate them Outstanding! Thank you with all my heart.
When we were told my father would require nursing care we were quite nervous as we didn't know what to expect. However our experience of The White House was very positive. Our dad settled down well and was well looked after in the two years he was a resident. The manager and nursing staff were always on hand to answer any questions or concerns, and to ensure my father received the right medical care. All the staff, from the chefs to the carers to the activity coordinators to the cleaners, were all very friendly, kind and felt like our extended family. The White House always had a fun and exciting range of activities and outings for residents, and my dad particularly enjoyed music time and bingo. Above all, we always felt that Dad was well looked after and respected. We also felt very welcome when visiting Dad, and well supported when he passed away recently. We will always be thankful to The White House staff for their love and kindness.
My mum moved into The White House on 5th November 2021, from day 1 I knew this small independent-run care/nursing home was the right choice for Mum as well as myself. Every one of the staff from management to careers, chefs, cleaners and admin staff are very hardworking, supportive and friendly people. You are made to feel like this is your home as well as your loved one's home. The home is always fresh and clean with no off-putting smells. All food is home-cooked and beautifully presented, very nutritious. Everyone is encouraged to join in the activities with lots of support and encouragement given. Excursions are in abundance, residents get opportunities to go to garden centres, parks, seaside and many lovely places of interest. Myself and family are indebted to everyone at The White House for the outstanding care and support shown and given to Mum from day one until her passing on 20th March 2024. We have no hesitation in recommending this lovely caring nursing home.
I’d like to thank all the staff at The White House for the wonderful kindness and care they provided to my mum for five years. The White House has a happy and supportive atmosphere and Mum always enjoyed being involved in all the crafts and activities provided for the residents. Mum passed away in March and I will always be grateful for the way she was cared for by the always helpful staff with such sympathy and consideration to the end. I am so glad that we found a place for Mum where she could be so well looked after and happy in her final years.
My father's care at The White House was exceptional. He was treated like family with kindness, compassion and dignity. Standards for everything were high but it's the staff that makes The White House such a special place.
My priority in finding a nursing home for my mother was the quality of the nursing care and pain control it could give. This home was excellent in fulfilling both of those requirements. All staff from cleaners through carers, nurses and the manager were kind and compassionate. The bedrooms are small but adequate: downstairs, where residents spend much of the day, is homely and comfortable. The staff engaged my mother in many activities, despite her limitations. She really enjoyed the homemade food, particularly the afternoon cakes. The nursing care she received and the consideration shown to both her and me were outstanding. They controlled her pain throughout and her passing was as comfortable as possible. To the very end, she was not simply a patient but an individual in their care. I could not fault their nursing and complete care, in all aspects, and I say that from having been a nurse myself.
I stayed here for 2 weeks following an operation. I cannot praise the staff enough for their friendliness, professionalism and kindness. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and there were activities every weekday to keep the residents motivated. This is truly a homely environment and I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone in the future. Thank you to the whole team.
The White House Care Home was the best thing that happened to my wife and I for the end of her long and fruitful life. From the very first moment we talked to the manager, to the last my wife's day on September, 29 both of us had nothing but words of praise for the care, treatment, staff, cleanliness, food, activities, organisation of this all and for me, most importantly, feeling as members of a family, not customers. Thank you all once again for helping the last days of my wife's life, be spent with ease and dignity.
The White House Nursing Home took my mother with just a few days notice when the hospital she had been in for nine weeks wanted to release her. Within a day my mother, who had been lying on her back for nine weeks, was up and enjoying her life at this great little nursing home. The support and communication we got from this home was amazing. The manager was always available on the phone and the staff were so kind, considerate and helpful. The staff here pushed my mother to do as much for herself as she could, they liaised with the hospital brilliantly and took so much weight off from our minds. We needed to move our mother nearer to her family on the South Coast, but left this amazing care home with reluctance after nine weeks. We would have had no hesitation in keeping her in this home. Finding a nursing home remotely as good as this home was not easy. The staff here are amazing.
The White House Nursing Home provided care for my mother from April 2022 through to her passing in early January 2023. The care provided was exemplary in all aspects. The staff were caring, attentive and supportive of all her needs. I cannot thank them enough for the support they showed to me as well, at the end of her life. I would highly recommend The White House to anyone.
The staff were considerate, caring and respectful to my dear friend. They provided excellent personal care and home-cooked meals. Communication was very good too. I would recommend The White House for excellent person-centred care.
My mother lived at The White House Nursing home for the last month of her life and received end-of-life care from The White House team. I visited her every day during this period. The care provided to my mother was outstanding. The staff were highly competent, diligent, kind and compassionate. Not only did they take fantastic care of my mother, but they were also so supportive of me during a very difficult time. Often they would check in on me to see how I was coping during my visits and bring me tea and food which I never had to ask for. They were always there if I needed to talk to someone and have maintained contact with me since my mother's death which I greatly appreciate. They made myself and my mother feel like we were at home. I am so impressed by the home and the strong bonds I formed with the staff that I intend to volunteer there and chat with other residents who are in need of some additional companionship.
When my mum went into the nursing home fourteen months ago I thought I was going to lose her, but they have done an amazing job bringing her back to how she was and I thank the staff so much. My mum is so very happy there, I think she loves it and she gets on with everyone there as well. I really thank all the staff there.
We were extremely lucky to have Mum sent to this nursing home from the hospital. The staff were very warm and welcoming and I always felt Mum was in safe and caring hands when I left. The premises were very clean and well maintained and always smelt fresh when you came in. The manager and staff were also very supportive of me and concerned in a genuine way for my well-being both during Mum's short stay and following her passing on.
