View Full Details of Willow Lodge Nursing HomeMy dear friend has been living in Willow Lodge since March 2023 and I and her other visitors have nothing but praise for Willow Lodge, the manager and her staff. The manager sets a caring ethos, encouraging her staff to be lively and playful with residents so that they will sense their energy and happiness and this will improve the well-being of the residents. We are so pleased with the homeliness of Willow Lodge and have confidence in the skill of the carers to identify my friend's needs which she cannot articulate for herself. Willow Lodge has been having a makeover but this has to be done around the continuing care of all the residents so it must have been a challenging few months, but everyone stays calm and positive whenever I have been there.
Although the staff at the home are extremely caring and pleasant the pictures do not represent the actual rooms and facilities at Willow Lodge. The home is rather tatty and unkept for the amount they charge on a monthly basis! The place does not get maintained on a regular basis and appears to be scruffy.
Amazing care all around for my husband, the staff are all superb. One carer has eased the very difficult time and guilt of putting my husband into a home and my family and I are so grateful for all the help and loving ways she has shown all of us. The carers are so very caring and I know their jobs are not easy but they are truly wonderful. I am very happy with my husband being in this lovely care home.
My mother has been in this home for some time now with dementia. The care given by all the staff has been amazing to date. They have become like family members so much so that some of the staff even attended my father's funeral in February. Cannot fault the home or staff in any way and it's a lovely peace of mind knowing that my mother is being lovingly cared for. Excellent!
As a family of a loved one, we give the highest commendation for the excellent standard of care in all aspects. The management and staff are very professional, attentive and compassionate and our loved one is treated with dignity. The home is proactive in constant review of the needs and support required by our loved one and appraises the family regularly. Willow Lodge provides a calm and welcoming environment and there is a wide range of stimulating activities. The knowledge that our loved one is well and safely cared for gives the family great comfort and makes our visits all the more rewarding.
My uncle's been in the home for over a year now, and the way they look after him is excellent, especially during the pandemic. He is always clean and well looked after when I visit. The manager calls regularly to keep me updated on his health. The staff are very caring, and nothing is too much for them, always smiling. The food's good, and Uncle's put on weight, which is a good sign. Highly recommended.
I just wanted to say a huge "thank you" to the entire team at Willow Lodge. They've been marvellous. Ever since my Aunt was admitted earlier in the year, she's a new person. Nothing is too much for the staff - always greeted pleasantly. The manager and her team are very hands-on. Aunties taken care of very well, well nourished and loved by all around her. Lots of activities and lots of snacks and food at all times.
My friend has been in this home for 2 years during the pandemic. Every time I visit him he is always happy to see me and very well looked after, I don't have any complaints about the home. Staff are loving and caring.
My mum who suffers from Alzheimer’s went into Willow Lodge on 12th June 2020 and at first, everything seemed ok but then gradually a few concerns starting arising. The protocol was that when visiting regardless if it was through a double glazed window or not, gowns, gloves and masks were to be worn and the temperature was to be taken. This protocol changed depending on which member of staff was working that day. On one occasion my sister’s temperature was taken inner ear and then without changing the plastic cap they tried to take my temperature! On a number of my visits, I was not given a gown, nor gloves and sometimes not even a mask! Furthermore, when visits behind a plastic screen started taking place we were reassured that this area would be cleaned thoroughly however again this was not the case. On a few of my visits, the supposedly clean safe area was left with gloves and gowns from previous visits. As you can imagine, this raised many concerns for myself and my family.
I was very lucky and very happy to discover Willow Lodge Nursing Home. It is the best place for my mother. The staff is unbelievably good. They are like a family and the residents are mostly nice people. I know that my mother is in safe hands and in the best place. I am especially grateful for the manager of the home. She is incredibly competent, reliable and helpful. I feel very happy for my Mother and she is enjoying her stay at Willow Lodge.
As a visitor, the most outstanding thing that strikes one is what a relief to see the user in an ideal, caring, peace-giving place at end of life. The staff, from the manager down, are loving, in the task that's not easy by any means, with a smile and cheerful welcome to visitors. By the senior-most person with genuine, not "put on" face, she said they are "my family". A variety of users, some with loss of quality of life, perception or judgement of fellow users. The garden is heavenly and well kept but although the property is far from "modern", it is adapted for the purpose. At the state of user I have come to visit with this final destination, I say no more. Renovation and improvements are in process.
Willow Lodge Nursing Home has greatly improved. My mother's quality of life. All the staff cannot do enough for Mum and they carry out their duties with care, compassion and professionalism. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff make me feel just as important as my Mum. Since arriving at Willow Lodge Mum has gained weight and her mobility and speech have greatly improved. Thanks to Willow Lodge I am a lot less stressed.
Pops is living with Dementia and was transferred to Willow Lodge from another nursing home unable to cope with his challenging behaviours. From day one he has been treated with nothing but respect and been given excellent care from the whole team; the Manager, nurses, carers and catering teams. They are so patient with him which has been key to getting him settled really quickly, and helped to diffuse his challenging behaviours when they arise. This is a home in the true sense of the word, everyone working together with the well-being of the residents at the heart of everything they do. I thank the universe for leading us here and for my pops now receiving the quality care he deserves. The home is currently going through a meticulously planned refurbishment which is why I’ve given a score of good, when it’s finished it will be a score of excellent. Pop's room is one that has been refurbished which is why I gave an excellent score for rooms. Come for a visit and see for yourself!
My mother moved here from her last care home where she was unhappy and distressed. Here she has blossomed as much as her dementia will allow. She has stopped losing weight and put some back on. She seems relaxed, dances with the carers and shows affection to the manager. It's as if her last home didn't happen, here her sweet persona is nurtured with humour and fondness. My mother is in good hands.
This care home has been very kind to my husband and has looked after him well, keeping him safe at all times. The staff are considerate to myself and my family and provide any help we need regarding my husband. It has a lovely garden and provides music at all times which really helps people with Alzheimer's like my husband.
Having our family member in Willow Lodge has been such a relief. We are so thankful that all the great staff are caring for him. In our opinion, he settled extremely well and seems settled and contented. Very happy with Willow Lodge.
My father has been at Willow Lodge since May 2014, so just over 4 years as I write this review. He came to Willow Lodge at the age of 82 suffering from dementia with Lewy Bodies. In the early years, I was able to take him out regularly as he was still very mobile and lucid. I visited him most days and so I knew he was content and settled. New owners took over a while back and I was worried at first as there were lots of changes but I can honestly say that the manager and her team are absolutely amazing. The staff make this place. It may not be the Ritz inside but I cannot fault the care. Unfortunately, my father's health has recently deteriorated but I am so grateful as to the way the staff treat and care for him.
My mother's standard of care is excellent in all ways, personal hygiene, toileting, meals, personal space (bedroom with wardrobe and bedside table as well as washbasin), comfortable armchair in the lounge and TV to watch. She is clearly very comfortable, both physically and emotionally due to her needs being met regularly and very quickly, if necessary by all staff. She is sure this is her own home, which shows how settled she is and how well she is being treated. She always said she would never go into a nursing home but loved it at Willow Lodge.
I am a pastor of a local church in Cheam. Our church visits the home every Saturday afternoon to sing to them (residents) for 45 minutes. It's been a great atmosphere visiting Willow Lodge.
Whenever we visit, my mother-in-law always looks clean and cared for. A member of staff is always on hand in the day room to tend to the residents. We are always made to feel welcome whichever day or time we visit. My mother-in-law seems very happy there.
