View Full Details of Woodlands House Care & Nursing HomeMy sister was transferred to Woodlands after an eight-week stay in hospital following a stroke which left her paralysed down her left side. She was very weak and suffered from mild autism. From day one she was made welcome, shown kindness and love, she said they were her friends. Whenever myself or family visited all staff greeted us with a smile, nothing was too much trouble, and I felt safe to leave her in their care. Sadly her stay was short and after a week she was put on end-of-life care. During her last day she was treated with love and care and kept comfortable. The staff also looked after me offering tea, coffee and a shoulder to cry on when needed. After she passed she was treated with respect and dignity. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Woodlands to anyone, they made my sister's last few weeks as comfortable as possible.
I have found all staff at Woodlands House Care & Nursing Home to be professional, kind and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble and any requests are dealt with promptly. The home is always clean and tidy. Overall, very pleased.
I visited my Auntie on the 3rd of November. She was so happy she said she loves it there. The staff are always very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I've seen the food and it is amazing. The rooms are always very clean and tidy.
Our Mum spent the last 2 years at the home suffering with advanced Dementia. All of the staff were very caring over this period and it was obviously the best place for her to be receiving the best care she could possibly have. All of the staff were extremely helpful with Mum and us too as we went through a difficult time.
My mother has settled into Woodlands House, as a temporary resident. The welcome we both received was comforting and reassuring. The staff are friendly and engaged in the well-being of each resident. The home is very clean and warm. The food is freshly cooked and plentiful. Each resident is kept clean and looked after. At first, my mother said she found it strange to be somewhere different from home but she wishes she could stay here permanently now. From reception staff to nursing staff & cleaners, everyone really makes an effort. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woodlands House to others.
This is just the most wonderful care home. Every single member of staff that works here are amazing people and helps and supports their residents so well. My mum has been here for almost a year now and I cannot thank everyone who works here enough for the love and support they have offered not only to my Mum but to us as a family. My Mum is so happy at Woodlands. She absolutely loves the food and the fact that a hairdresser comes on a weekly basis. Her room is also wonderful and bright and thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. I'm a frequent visitor and I honestly see each and every resident treated with dignity and respect. The staff are so kind and attentive, and I appreciate them so much. I love this place and I cannot recommend Woodlands enough.
My sister and I were very grateful for how wonderfully my mother was looked after at Woodlands House. The staff were caring, knowledgable and kind. Our mother loved the food she was given and she was encouraged to make friends and be sociable. Her end-of-life care was dignified and kindness itself and we would not hesitate to recommend Woodlands House.
Excellent facilities, modern decor and furnishings. Entertainment and activities are varied, well planned and managed. The experiences and backgrounds of individuals are respected and celebrated. Food is freshly cooked and of a very high standard. Families are welcomed and encouraged to join in the daily activities and special events. Staff are caring and have a good rapport with residents. Sadly the home has struggled to recruit staff, it appears there is limited monitoring of residents in their own rooms during the day.
Woodlands Care Home is a wonderful place for your elderly resident with problems. Staff are kind, caring and committed, the environment is beautiful and the food is like a five-star restaurant. What more could anyone want. My mother has her own individual issues and the staff works with me to help. They go above and beyond at all times. Staff are very patient and I have seen a resident verbally abuse a very kind member of staff, just her Dementia, and she responded with patience and kindness. Not an easy thing to do. Woodlands Care Home is the best facility in our area and we were lucky to get a place.
Lovely staff and surroundings. Great room and mum is enjoying the trips out of Woodlands which make the residents happy. Especially enjoyed the recent singer that came to entertain last week too. Everyone is so kind and patient.
Friendly, helpful staff. Not just on the residential floor but reception and management staff too. Easily contacted and coped very well during the Covid pandemic. Unfortunately, had to effectively closedown but kept us informed of progress.
In November, as in every month preceding that, my mother's care has been second to none. I could not have wished for better care for her in the last couple of years. Although I've not visited as often as I would've liked, whenever I have done my mum was happy and content and the general environment within the home was just ideal. The friendliness and patience of the staff were astounding. I will be eternally grateful for the care my mum received. Furthermore, the cleaning staff deserve immense praise for their efforts the building is always immaculate. All I can do is thank everyone concerned.
My mother - now 99 - has been at Woodlands for almost 18 months. She arrived there with multiple sores, more than one of them in a sorry state. Thanks to the care, skill and dedication of the care team, all those sores have since disappeared. She already had serious issues eating sufficiently. Food boosters, coaxing and personalised attention have been crucial and these she has received unfailingly, keeping her weight as stabilised as possible. Her spirits have remained - in the main - as good as can be expected in the circumstances. While there are obviously days when she dozes quite a lot, so not terribly active, she still watches TV quite regularly, astonishing me not long ago by telling me her favourite programme was a famous snooker tournament show. I was further surprised and delighted more recently, around the time she reached her 99th, in June, that, after many months of not touching her many word puzzle books, she had at last returned to them on "good days". 100% support from all staff.
Woodlands House Care & Nursing Home has provided excellent care for my mother since 2015. The staff are caring and approachable. I have found that communication with the staff is always very open and timely. Since moving into Woodlands, my mother has always seemed very calm and contented. She seems to be treated with genuine fondness by the staff.
Woodlands House Care & Nursing Home is a wonderful care home with amazing staff, who work incredibly hard and always have a smile on their face. My mum has been there for just over one year and I couldn't ask for a better home. My mum's favourite part of the day is when the afternoon tea/cake trolley comes out with a lovely selection of homemade cakes and fresh fruit. This home has a lovely atmosphere, it's a happy place and I know when I leave my mum after a visit she is safe and well cared for. The manager, the deputy manager and all of the staff work incredibly hard to make this home a special place to be. Activities have started again, painting, games, gardening, singers and trips out! Meals are prepared and cooked on-site to a very high standard and there is a beautiful garden where residents are free to come and go. Hairdressing salon, TV room, dining room and bedrooms are decorated to a high standard and everywhere is spotless. Thank you, Woodlands, for caring for my mum.
A wonderful environment with caring people that take the time to help residents requiring varying levels of care. Lots going on including day trips out, great communication, excellent food and paperwork is always up to date, if you call in for an update the staff give very accurate details of the residents proving that they are keeping an eye on all aspects of care required. The whole place is kept spotless, we visit weekly at varied times and have always found everywhere clean and my mother-in-law is always clean and tidy.
Mum had a short period of respite at Woodlands House Care & Nursing Home, so our family were familiar with the services provided. Mum is living with Alzheimer's and became a resident earlier this year, a difficult decision for us as a family, but the staff have been very supportive in the transition. A huge thank you to all of the staff who do a fantastic job.
The staff at Woodlands Care Home were just absolutely fantastic and friendly. Food and drink service is just like first-class on a train! Clean and tidy rooms. Very good atmosphere. The way they managed Covid-19 was a big challenge but they managed very, very well. Woodlands Care Home must be rewarded with a medal or something because of the best service the staff provide together.
On the whole, I'm very happy with the personal care provided to my mother by all the staff at Woodlands. Some minor points such as sometimes when I've been to visit she has been wearing clothes that I'm sure are not hers but in the scheme of things that's a pretty trivial point. The staff have been very helpful to me and my mum and they seem to genuinely care for the residents.
Extremely caring and helpful staff and management offering a fully effective and efficient care package. My mother is very happy at woodlands and all the staff go out of their way to make her feel comfortable.
