View Full Details of The Windmill Care CentreWhen I was told that my wife was to be discharged from hospital to a care home, I felt uncomfortable as I felt I was able to care for my wife at home with the help of visiting carers, I could not have been more wrong. My wife has a pressure sore on the sacrum which appeared in September (now December) before her hospital stay. She requires 24 hour care, regular turning which she has in the home and a nurse on standby which she has. To enable the sore to heal she also requires a special diet which she gets and at the last the sore is healing due entirely to the staff. Everyone from the cleaners, carers, kitchen staff, nurses and management are so friendly, always engaging and smiling, They treat my wife and myself impeccably.
I am not at all unhappy with the treatment I have received since coming to the Windmill. Sometimes there have been problems but they have always been taken care of by the staff professionally. I know that any further treatment will be carried out in the same way. Thank you Windmill.
My grandfather has been in the home 16 months now and despite him being given a diagnosis of 6 months, the staff and home have given him superb care. I have to say the communication has been superb and I really have to mention the deputy manager who at every stage keeps me updated with progress. The staff are welcoming and friendly, it's really like an extension of family. Thanks.
My sister is very relaxed and settled in very well. She loves the food and having all the care done for her. She felt very welcome and happy. The staff are very nice and take good care of her. She also goes well with the other clients.
Upon entering the building, I was impressed with the security, both to get in and get out. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The standards and cleanliness are very good, and everybody seems to know what they are doing and all the clients. One last is very knowledgeable and helpful; she is very helpful as are all the staff.
My grandad was taken in as a resident just before Christmas. So far, the staff have been friendly, approachable and caring not only to my grandad but to us as a family. They have made us feel safe by leaving my grandad in their care. Grandad was only in for four days when it was his birthday on Christmas Day. How the staff decorated his room and made him a birthday cake made us as a family feel very touched that they went to this effort for someone so new. My grandad is happy and settled thanks to how the staff have treated him and settled him in. As a family, we cannot express our gratitude enough, and we appreciate everything they do.
Everyone is very warm and friendly. They take good care of my dad. I enjoy my visits. Your staff are all so lovely. They treat my dad with kindness and respect. There are plenty of activities for the residents, and families are always invited and welcomed to join in. It’s a welcoming and inclusive environment. Thank you
My mother joined the Windmill Care Home for some respite and it was a very positive experience for her. She made friends and participated in social activities, both inside and outside the facility. Staff were kind, and respectful and encouraged the family to visit during her stay. Should my mother require further respite care we would not hesitate in choosing for her to stay here again. Thank you to all those who helped looking after her. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.
The team work well to get to know the residents individually so their needs can be met.
I was reluctant to put my mother, who is a dementia sufferer, into a care home. However, my concerns were unfounded as she has received nothing but care and support since she was admitted into The Windmill Care Centre in July 2022. The home is clean and tidy, the food is appetising and more importantly the staff are friendly, caring and professional. My huge thanks to all the staff at The Windmill Care Centre. Thank you for looking after Mom.
Since my sister-in-law has been in the home, we are really pleased with the care and attention she has received. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are really friendly to us as relatives when we visit.
Before I was transferred in to The Windmill Care Centre from hospital I was told not to go into The Windmill because you are left in your room and not looked after. Also told the staff don't care for the residents. Well I found out after being put in there it's all lies, I was looked after very well and nothing was missed. I felt while I was in there that I was part of a family, well looked after and treated very well. Very good staff.
Management and staff at The Windmill Care Centre gave my mum excellent support and care. The time she spend there she was happy making friends and enjoying life. We'd like to thank everybody for their help and care.
The care home is clean. When I visited, I felt it was well run. The staff speak in different languages which is an added bonus. I even tasted the food that was provided on one such visit in order to see if it was good or not. The only drawback was there was no toys or books which are freely available for relatives of residents who like to read or play. Bedrooms are clean and free of dirt and dust etc. The staff treat her well and also seem to know what they are doing.
I was very impressed when visiting my sister. The staff are very polite and helpful. Her room is clean and homely. It was lovely to visit and sit in the garden. Covid rules are strict but necessary. One niggle I have is 25 minutes is not long enough. My sister is quite happy and settled.
Small, homely, friendly atmosphere. All residents are happy upon my visits, and my mum is settled and happy here and has made friends. Staff are friendly and polite make you feel at ease.
It’s such a relief to have my mum at The Windmill Care Centre. I’m not based in the UK so I need to have my mum at a place I can rely on and trust; a place with a high standard of care and Windmill fits that bill. I can tell they care about her and treat her well - they know her quirks and they clearly treat her like one of their family. My mum is happy there. The staff always have time for my questions. I’m so glad she is there - a compassionate, caring home.
It's a brilliant care home. The manager and staff do a very good job. They look after my friend very well and she is not the easiest person to look after. I think they all do a wonderful job.
Our dad was admitted to The Windmill in very difficult circumstances. The staff went out of their way to reassure us and to help our dad acclimatise. We have found them to be very professional, friendly, caring and compassionate. Nursing staff are hugely committed to preserving the dignity of those in their care, and admin/management are both efficient and very humane. There is a lovely atmosphere at the home.
Windmill Centre is not somewhere I would recommend to friends or family. The manager is very rude. Some staff are kind however this is based on personal preference. As a home dealing with patients in challenging situations, you would believe that the staff would be passionate about their role however unfortunately not. I have been totally shocked at the lack of compassion and care from the home.
